Occupation: She works under her mother at The Hills Paper. Sheโs been writing, itโs really just a part-time job and hobby until she figures out what she really wants to do.
Likes: finding out the truth (even if it takes some digging.), honestly exposing people for who they are really just makes her day, coffee..if she hasnโt had her morning coffee you can say goodbye to any coherent sentences, being healthy (sheโs gotta keep up her body in check!),
Dislikes: when people dig into her business (yes she went to Yale and yes she dropped out..mind your own business), the fact that the whole town knows almost everything about each other and her mother can just never keep her mouth shut, when people stare at her, lies..obviously, having feelings for someone sheโs pretty sure will never reciprocate them.
Personality: On the outside, she can come off as quite the sweetheart but when you get to know her youโll realize thatโs just not the case. She is however very reserved and well.. soft. Donโt let that fool you, though! One step in the wrong direction towards her and she will open fire. She doesnโt let anyone push her around and that goes for her family too. She spent way too many days in high school letting that happen. Sheโs come back to Ripton Hills with a new attitude and she really doesnโt care if you like it or not.

Mother - Suzan Hartley, 43
โคท quick bio : Sheโs a bit of a control freak. Sheโs obsessed with keeping up the family image and portraying perfection to the town. Which Emma find incredibly exhausting and outright ridiculous but she loves her mom and sheโs fallen into the habit of doing it too.
Father - John Hartley, 45
โคท quick bio : Heโs a bit peculiar and kind ofโฆpsychotic. He seems to always be the one creating problems within the family. Sometimes Emma canโt even remember why she loved him so much as a child, she knows itโs wrong but she canโt help it.
Sister : Peggy Hartley, 24
โคท quick bio : Sheโs the eldest of the Hartley girls. She was the wild and crazy of the two. She was always out partying as a teen and is pretty much the reason her mother keeps such a tight lid on Emma. She loves her sister to death but Emma can feel her pulling away and sheโs not sure why.

Richard Carson, 19
โคท : Richard has always been the boy next door. Emma and Richard have been friends ever since diapers. Emmaโs pretty sure no one in the world knows her better than him. Which in her case isnโt a good thing. Sheโs been crushing on him for so long it actually pains her. Of course no one knows.
Josephina Aguado, 18
โคท : Jo is Emmaโs best friend. She doesnโt know what sheโd do without her. She really regrets not going to NYU with her but itโs too late now.
Kristian Molan, 19
โคท : Kristian was Emmaโs best friend in her short time at Yale. They both decided to drop out together. Kris is a bit of a bad influence on Emma but she honestly doesnโt mind at all. Sheโs thankful for Kris. She helped Emma out of her bubble a little bit.

Vincenzo Sartore, 19
โคท : Emma and Enzo weโre together for a bit. She really did love him but he broke up with her out of the blue and sheโs hated him ever since. You know they say broken hearts fuel hate. Deep down she knows sheโs just hurt, but maybe one day sheโll get over it.
Blake Jeong, 18
โคท : They met through Richie and bonded over their academics but thatโs as far as it went.
Anastasia Morley, 18
โคท : Honestly Emma is/was sort of jealous when she assumed Ana and Enzo had been together. Sheโs never really had a liking towards her but who knows the summer could change that.
Agnes Maciver, 18
โคท : They had a hateful past but ever since high school theyโve basically been great friends. She admires Agnes her blunt ways. She could never be that brave.
Biography: Emma has always been the girl next door type. Her family has always had a good image throughout the town despite how wild her sister was during her teen years. Em has been seen as the smart, pretty, and popular girl. Everyone in town half expected her to become somebody rich and famous. She was the girl the town built their pride on. Boy were they wrong. She left Ripton Hills as clean polished young lady ready to take the world. She came back bruised and hardened. Some might not even recognize the poor girl. Despite her character change she still rocks her blonde high pony and a wicked smile. She just has a nice set of vicious eyes to match, now.
Secret: Has had a crush on Richie for ages but never truly confessed her feelings to him or to anyone else for that matter. Dropped out of university after realizing that it isnโt as easy as she thought it would be and instead wants to pursue a more creative career.
