@Dide-Karaali-HOS @lastchance @Shoaleh-Nia2 @artsdesireable Thank you so much for the understanding and support. I really appreciate your opinions very much. With a little goodwill and some effort on their part, I hope they can create their own style; they will feel proud and very satisfied—that’s the feeling you get from creating something of your own. Sending hugs and have a great day/evening you all

@greta-martin, After reading your message, I took some time to review my recent fashion sets. I have endeavored to work on improving my creating of fashion sets recently. As such, I do take a little time to look over other people's sets to figure out what elements really make an impact. If this is considered copycatting, I do apologize. That was never my intent and I would not want to upset anyone while trying to improve my skills.

-
I don't think anyone wants to copy my sets, they are chaotic! HaHa!! But yes, I can see people pulling from some people's sets, some of the sets on here are incredible! I can understand new members copying a bit to figure things out, but when it happens over and over again, I can see how that can be frustrating. I'm sorry that you are noticing this, I hope it gets better for you.

@shelley-harcar Dear Shelley, please don't worry, rest assured that I am certainly not talking about you here. As far as I know, drawing inspiration and improving your skills with fashion sets—ultimately to create something uniquely your own—is not considered copying. Copycats replicate the exact layout of a set but use different items, although some do copy the exact same items as well. That is precisely why copycats stand out so clearly: at first glance, you think the set belongs to someone else. I wish you lots of luck and have a great time creating in the world of fashion sets; sending hugs

@greta-martin Even better one for you and your beloved ones dear all!

@greta-martin I don’t do fashion hardly ever but still enjoy looking at everyone who does. I have noticed some similarities in set designs and perhaps yes you should be flattered but maybe they feel they have lost their way somewhat with inspiration but copycats should not be tolerated and they should endeavour to create their own style.

@covetyourbeauty Hello my dear, please know that I absolutely love your sets; they are unique and beautifully put together. Definitely don't underestimate yourself, because you are very good at what you create ... I am a huge fan. I also understand that new members are still figuring out how to make sets, but I certainly don't view them as copycats; they will surely discover their own style eventually. Unfortunately, the issue here isn't about newcomers. Don't worry about me; let's just hope the message gets through to the copycats that they are encouraged to discover their own layout style ... that way, they’ll be respected and loved by many. Sending hugs and have a lovely evening, my dear.

@jewelsinthecrown Good morning dearest Michele, I really appreciate your opinion and support, ,you’re such a lovely friend. You’re absolutely right that some people have lost their way a bit when it comes to inspiration—which I can certainly understand—but when the same thing gets repeated set after set for a long time, it becomes a bit sad. That is precisely why I wanted to encourage them to discover their own style of creating layouts, they will certainly enjoy it and gain respect for it. Let’s hope the message gets their attention .Sending big hugs all the way to the beautiful Gold Coast , have a great and wonderful day sweetie.

@shelley-harcar Shelley--When I first started on Polyvore many years ago, in order to know how to create beautiful sets and after looking at the ones I loved the most, I would use different sections (never the entire set) to find what I liked to do when creating sets! Polyvore was a new experience for me and I did not realize that people could make such amazing sets from items found online. It was an eye opener! However, I did find my own style and have honed it even more over the years. As far as I know, I have not had anyone copy me since my TrendMe days.

Greta: When I was on TrendMe, after Polyvore shut down and I found Urstyle, there was a nasty woman who not only copied my sets but made the most nasty and provocative comments on my sets! It's the only time I had to report someone to the administration so that she could be stopped. They took her spot off TrendMe and thankfully, I never heard from her again.

@greta-martin Thank you Greta for your message posted. So appreciated! Hugs.

I definitely get inspired by others' sets since way back on Polyvore, but I'm confident in my own creativity, athough, admittedly, I shift my styles around a lot. I've experimented naturally over the years but never seem to have one signature style and not sure why but that is itself part of my style, lol. Hope my creations have not been construed at copys though. If so, it was never intentional.

@gigi66 Hello my dear, I’ve never heard anything about you regarding copying, so please don’t worry and rest assured that I am certainly not talking about you here. Please feel free to carry on as always and enjoy the variety, there’s nothing wrong with that at all. Many members create a wide range of set layouts. I sometimes draw inspiration from my own old sets from years ago , back then I used a wider range of layout styles than I have in recent year .For certain contests, it actually works out better and looks nicer. Sending a big hug .

@greta-martin Thank you Greta - I appreciate that...and continue to enjoy your fab sets!
-
@greta-martin hello dear! I don’t blame you for feeling that way. Your creations are absolutely remarkable that’s why people copy them. And i see that all the time - from entries submitted to all my contests. Hope the copycats will be embarrassed after reading your message. Have a great day my friend!
-
@vvccourtz Thank you so much for your support and kind words sweetie , I appreciate them enormously. Let's hope they discover their own layout style soon, they will certainly be appreciated by many for it, and they themselves will be able to enjoy the feeling of satisfaction of creating something of their own. Sending big hugs, my dear friend.

@greta-martin I truly admire other people's layouts in Fashion, I can't do layouts very well. I'm simple in my layout but constant in my own way. I have my own signature layout and Ihonestly think that great layouts set win in contest not because of the outfit but the layout itself so copying to me it's not cool. I get inspired and pick up a few pointers from others but never copy them. I remember this one person would use my downloaded items before I even use them lol, also art copycats those really used to annoy me. At the end of it all, unfortunately there's nothing we can do about a copier but bring it to their attention in a nice positive way. I always tell creative people and non-creative people alike, be yourself, express yourself, be a leader not a follower. If you are not good at creating, here are some tips, practice makes perfect so the more you play the more you learn. Create your own unique signature style, for example if you see my fashion sets, they are simple I like to see the whole outfit, so I never use a background that's just me. Everyone let's just keep sharing with each other and respect other people's creativity. Some of us suck at fashion like me, but I still try. Some of us suck at art but we still try. it's this simple not all of us were born to be fashionistas and not all of us are Picassos, but this app makes us feel like we are so enjoying it with others is the best part. Some members do fantastic work so let's respect the ones that have taught us throughout the years I remember when I could not make the dollies, I learned how with the help of the members that create dolls and yes, I like making them but its time consuming, but very fun once you learn. I appreciate and respect everyone on this app that's been on it for years.
