I don't mind ads...

I know they are needed on sites like URSTYLE to generate revenue but when those ads interfere with creating, commenting, editing, etc., then I start to have a problem.
So today when I logged on, I see three different areas of ads, top, middle, bottom. Some you can minimize, most you can't. So I just dealt with while I looked at my feed and went to comment on a set and low and behold, there was as ad right where I wanted to comment. I could still type and some of the text I could see, but it was frustrating so I thought I would just go and finish a set I had been working on.
So I click on create and the whole bottom of my screen is one big ad. Ok, I'll just ignore it, open the draft, click on an item, guess what? The ad completely covers the editing space. So I play around with the settings, decrease the size of my screen and I can see the bottom edge of the editing buttons underneath the strip that magnifies, adds items, etc. Really? Why is it necessary to have such a large part of our creative space covered with ads that have me so furious at this point, I wouldn't click on them to buy anything if it came with George Clooney, Kit Harrington , and Richard Madden all wrapped up in a bow!!
Why did you feel it was necessary to cover the entire creative space with ads @admin? I get it, you need the revenue to run the site but if the site is so covered with advertising that is constantly changing and swiping left and right, and creating distraction after distraction, that no one can bear to stay on long enough to do anything creative. Just looking at the feed page is enough to give youa seizure from all the movement and flashing!!
@admin please fix the layout. Not everyone has a 40 inch monitor that can handle a lot of ad space. Phones and tablets don't offer much space, obviously, so can't you allow for those circumstances? and don't even get me started on the app, which on a tablet orphone platform is, imho,completely unuseable.
So that is my wish, to live in harmony with the adorable little ads instead of the current platform where they dominate more than 50% of the space on my tablet and phone. I would be so ever grateful @admin !!

I so agree!!! The past couple of days I've noticed it a lot more. At first I didn't pick up why I couldn't see the page number and arrows in the collections, then I noticed the add were blocking me and the numbers. So frustrating and not to mention annoying. Like Cindy I know you need the add but simce where the ones helping you make a dollar how about fair play, all round!

Well said. No one wants to try and use an app that is buried in ads. Ads are a necessary evil, but they can be made manageable. I work for a digital marketing company and I know there are ways to optimize ads (and websites) for mobile use. It's just a matter of testing and adjusting (using a heat map is good too...) So I agree with the frustrations and find it a bit extra annoying when I know that any developer can correct this without a lot of difficulties!

@cindu12 I know it is not in the spirit of revenue raising for Urstyle but I block ads and do so on my whole internet experience.

Annoying, ads an ad popped up, took over the whole screen, I never click on ads to see them, It was determined, then I payed hell getting back, had to shut down and log back in.

I was posting about 2 days ago on facebook and twitter about upcoming changes,
right now we are in testing phase and not all of that ads will stay there.
We need to find balance between usability and ads to keep pay for servers, thanks

Unfortunately we will disable create app for users who are using adblock.
It will be possible to disable ads on another way, but will inform you about this when we will finish testing current stage of ads -
@sjlew me too same problem!! Also just doing a refresh on the screen they pop up on, does the trick...most of the time🤨
Just too much to deal with every time we log in. I would think they want us to continue to come in since it does help them overall to have a good customer base...

If I might offer a suggestion, go back to making those announcements on this forum as well so that we won't miss it, if we don't go to those other sites.

Aaaaaarrrggghhh. @cindu12 I was trying to answer your post but ads kept popping up everywhere and moving the page around every time I tried to click on REPLY! @admin, please make it go away. I’ll double - no quadruple my monthly donation to make them go away. I saw the post on twitter - thanks, btw - but I thought you were referring to improvements. I try hard not to complain, but when the ad is taking up my create space, the whining begins. Pllleeeeeeeaaaaassseeeee make it stooppppppppp!

@admin I just posted about this in another thread. If the ads completely block the scroll through buttons, how do we get around that?
At the moment I can’t add any items to create a set as the ads have completely blocked the buttons at the bottom

@fassionista I feel your pain! I have had all the same issues but they say whatever they are working on will fix the issue with the ads, but the question is when will it be fixed. I agree, I try not to complain or be mean in any way, but we have had so much wrong for so long that I just think everyone's patience is wearing thin...
I hope it is soon but @admin scolded me fo opening this thread (didn't see the other one) and I responded with the request of any major announcement be made on these boards so we all know what is going on. I just go to FB or Twitter hardley at all anymore since it is so hateful, imho, so I wouldn't know any info was given.
In any case, I hope and pray that it is soon...

@magnolialily-pts I use a tablet for creating and I had the same issue but did find that if I refresh the screen and clear the cache, it does leave the bottom and the strip we need to navigate becomes visible and the ad disappears, however, that strip is also covering the editing buttons but luckily you can see the bottom of them just enough to click on and do your editing.
Takes a little maneuvering but is is doable...hope that helps a little

@cindu12 aww thanks very much lovely. I gave that a go and cleared my cache but unfortunately the ads are still there. Maybe it’s because I’m using my phone rather than a tablet?
The only difference I can make is if I toggle my screen to the landscape position and back to portrait it shifts it enough to see the edit buttons but still not the scroll through item ones!
I hope they sort it soon. I get they need the ads to keep the site going but not when they completely block the functionality buttons

@magnolialily-pts hmm strange it didn't work on your phone. I have a Samsug and it works better but the space is so small on my phone it can make me crosseyed🤪
