Adding the avatar to your profile pic

The round circle in the middle on the profile head picture can be changed, but only by microsoft users I believe. Can anyone using apple, like me, change the picture? I'd like to have a "face" too, but I follow the instructions but I get no option to choose a pic. I'd like to hear from apple users please. I presume this feature is not apple compatable? Thank you everyone.

I can’t change mine, I thought maybe it’s because I signed in with an email, I don’t think it’s an Apple thing
