HOW TO RETRIEVE OLD POLYVORE SET ITEMS USING PINTEREST
-
@ahngelical clicked the three dots and it said report pin or embed no option to search for visually similar
-
@emcf3548 are you using the app or just on web? I’m using the app so it might just be a feature on there
-
@ahngelical oops I think I found it
-
@emcf3548 that’s good!!! I hope it works for you as well and not just me lucking out
-
@emcf3548 oh ok I got it wow thanks this could help in retrieving some of our items.
-
@emcf3548 I hope so! I’ve been terrified of using all my items but bless up for Pinterest
️

-
@emcf3548 thank you omg. I only found this by accident cause I was messing on whoops but I hope everyone can at least retrieve some of their lost items

For items that weren't pinned, you can use the method @majipoor described here
https://urstyle.com/topic/665804/hunters-and-gatherers-unite/106@majipoor said in Hunters and Gatherers, Unite:
I've also uploaded some wings & veils here & I'm also slowly uploading some fillers that I was able to get from the poly site.
I didn't see this mentioned by anyone else, so sorry if I'm repeating other people, but there's still a lot that can be accessed if you do a google image search then add site:polyvore.com to the end. For transparent stuff you can then go into advanced search and specify the file format to png.
-
This is really a gr8t way to recover items because once u highlight the item u want all other similar items pop up in several colors the thing is u just have to pin them and upload them later but u can accumulate a lot of similar items.
-
@emcf3548 I like this bcause u can recover items that were used in previous sets
-
@myrrael ooooh thank you I’ll check it out! I know when I was panicking about items someone on tumblr mentioned how if you go to the download ssense gave you where all your sets are, if you use the spreadsheet for likes and search the second column of numbers in google and type ‘polyvore’ after you’d possibly find the item the number correlated too but I found it no use
-
@emcf3548 ikr. I also found that if you find an item and click the board it was pinned to 9/10 it’s a Polyvore board full of items and sets where you can find similar items (I hope that makes sense)
-
@ahngelical That sounds so complicated O.o
And, I can't do that. My download didn't work shrugs It's fine, though. I'm having a blast on here and uploading a lot of items (for both myself and other people, of course). But, yes, I really wanted the items, and finding SO many of them in this way. Especially needed with transparent background. I don't think I ever saw a Pinterest item with a transparent background? The doll legs/ arms/ etc I got from there are all on a white one. -.-'
Ack, sorry, rambling! Have fun hunting
-
@myrrael hmmm you could try adding ‘png’ After the item but I’m not sure how successful that would be. It must be frustrating trying to find transparent items.
And that’s awful that your download didn’t give you your items. It feels like the idea of a download link was last minuet cause everyone seems to have gotten different folders.
-
@ahngelical I do that. I use the advance search in Google's image search. There's a filter for pngs which brings up a lot of usable stuff. ...hence why my items tab is currently overflowing ;D
My download didn't give me anything, tbh. It opened a new tab on attempt and nothing. I'm sure it's my security settings, but I have a lot of security settings, so I just shrugged and moved on.
-
@myrrael ooh that’s good I’m glad you’re finding items. I could never make good sets with transparent images like dolls or art sets. Yall have good talent for that omg.
-
@ahngelical Thank you
It's something I really enjoy doing and I'm glad it shows
.....I think we're derailing your thread, though? XD! Apologies. Back on topic: both methods work. It just depends on what you need when selecting which method to use.

@emcf3548 this is really easy just highlight item pinterest does all the searching (ex I highlighted a green pump it finds the pump and then shows a page full of pumps that r similar and asst. colors so instead of pinning just the one I searched for I can pin as many as I want then just upload them later or as needed.)
