Notification Inaccuracy

So, I sign on and it says I have 10 new notifications. I check them and later realize I've "missed" some. Contests for groups I belong to start and end and I'm unaware of it. I keep "missing" (not seeing) notifications and wonder why. Last few days, I've started clicking in SEE ALL NOTIFICATIONS . What a shocker. Pages and pages of unread, unseen Notifications. All of my Notification Settings are correct. What's up???
Is anyone else experiencing this? -
My appear to be there, but seem out of order somewhat, perhaps some are missing and I just don't know.I am getting the spinning wheel today, very slow, hope my response goes through

I have noticed the same thing. I cannot keep up with contests. I have been using "click all notifications". When you click on one they seem out of order. Donna Em -
@funkyjunkygypsy I have not noticed an issue here and always use "See all notifications" so I may have missed something here. What I have noticed though is when you mark all notifications as read, they never go away, they just stay there, pages and pages of them. This I am sure would take up space in the data base and I really wonder if it is necessary??

@funkyjunkygypsy Further I have just noticed that the numbering (amount of notifications received) is incorrect. The numbering is picking up only the amount in the summary window which is the latest 10 notifications, it is not picking up the amount of notifications which are unread (which you see when you open all notifications)

@ollie Yes, this is what has been confusing me and causing me to miss notifications.

I always check my "see all notifications." Its the only way I can return likes and comments. Is there some other way to do that that Im not aware of that doesn't involve going through all of those pages?

There needs to be a way to delete notofications that have been read, instead of them just building up in our system. I'm constantly missing notifications because of all the notifications built up in there. Instead of "Mark as Read" it should have an option to "Delete Read Notifications"!

@funkyjunkygypsy I always use the "See all notifications" option. It has the added advantage that if you comment on a set, for example, you just need to hit the back button to get back to the notifications. Because I have noticed if I do it from the drop-down menu, then go to look at another set, the comments and items from the previous set are still there ! Very annoying !! That doesn't happen to me if I start from the "See all notifications" page.

@funkyjunkygypsy Mrs B. probably already knows!!! Another thing I noticed today is that if someone puts comments on two separate sets, the notifications BOTH disappear after I've replied to one!
