My notifications

It seems all of my notifications are gone. When I click on my notification bell, I used to see a whole long list of notifications and now I only see 2 or 3. Also, I dont know which groups I have joined because all of my notifications are gone. Question 1: Are notifications only saved for a certain amount of time? Question 2: Is there a way to tell which groups I am a member of?
