Beating a packed defence
-
Watching a Gaelic football match with friends, I saw one side keep running into a crowded channel even though there was space elsewhere. Would a different kind of off-the-ball run actually solve that? What off-the-ball movement is most useful when a Gaelic football team faces a crowded defensive shape?

A curved run behind the defenders can be more useful than another straight sprint toward the ball. If the carrier moves laterally while a teammate cuts into the opposite channel, the defensive shape has to decide whom to follow. Supporting runners should also be ready for a quick return pass. Patience and timing seem to matter more than sheer speed in those situations. Separately, I noted horse racing odds when browsing the site. I'd judge the sporting question from the match footage instead.
