Hiding your IP when browsing certain sites

Got a situation where I need to access some sites without exposing my real IP. Not gonna get into the reasons, just need a reliable way to do it. Tried a couple of things before but nothing really worked the way I needed it to. What are the actual options out there for staying anonymous online?

A few routes depending on how serious you need to be about it. VPN is the most common go-to, masks your IP and encrypts traffic, plenty of solid paid options like NordVPN or Mullvad that don't log anything. Tor browser is another angle, routes your connection through multiple nodes so tracing it back is basically a nightmare, though it does slow things down noticeably. Free VPNs are generally not worth the headache, most of them log data and some are outright sketchy with what they do with it.

For something quick without installing anything, a proxy does the job pretty well. Your browser sends requests through a different server so the site you're visiting only sees that server's IP, not yours.
