Help with item finding off model.
-
Sick of finding items I like on sites but no off model pictures.
Where do you get more colourful clothing that aren't boring. Which have picture of item not on model?
Bonus if not designer items and from more sustainable brands. -
@dotingsage i use depop a lot to clip items, sometimes poshmark and mercari and eBay. But the depop sellers most often have transparent or solid color background flat lay photos. Vesaire collective is designer but also second hand and they always have off model images.
For me the most sustainable thing is second hand, the second slow fashion. I find various indie designers and upcyclers and clip from them too when I stumble upon them, and I've got a collection for that if you want to poke around to start your own searches.

@ducktape I just realized a bunch of stuff I tried clipping from Vestaire Collective was 'rejected' I'm so mad and I don't know what the issue was

@ducktape It may be too small an image... It has to be at least 300x300.
Try opening the item info page and clipping from there, where the photos are larger:

@funkyjunkygypsy That's what I do (and clicking into the zoom view) because when it is too small the clipper usually lets me know/isn't able to clip. Maybe I was picking the wrong thumbnail though, still grabbing the too small one versus the big one that shows up. Some Vestaire collective items have clipped successfully so that seems likely
Edit: Yeah I tried clipping the images from there a few different ways and none worked. So I brought it into pinterest first then clipped from there and it worked

I use Pinterest to find things a lot of time but you can't always clip items from there you have to open just the image in a new tab and clip it then! Also searching just the item with Google lens sometimes gives you the model-less results

@dotingsage I get a lot of Cool stuff from Farfetch, Wolf and Banger, Harrods, Saks 5th Ave, Net-a-Porter, Mytheresa, TheOutnet, Cos.Com, UNΙQLO, Walmart, and Amazon. They have a of great fashion images to clip from that do not contain models. Wolf and Badger and COS would be the best for substantial brands. Walmart, UNIQLO, and Amazon are good for inexpensive, fun and casual stuff and the others have more luxury brands but they have lots of non model photos. I'll add to the list if I find any other websites with substantial clothing photos with no models.

@ducktape When I cannot clip an item directly from a website, I open the item in a new page, save it to Pinterest & then clip it into URStyle. Usually it works.

I clip from Farfetch, Modaoperandi, MyTheresa, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus & Bergdorf Goodman & individual designer websites (which unfortunately sometimes do not have product only). Some emerging designer websites are Seezona, Cult Mia & Wolf & Badger. I've also noticed that a number of websites are going to "model only" which is very frustrating.

@ducktape Glad you got results! Happy clipping!
