♡ Before becoming a trainee, Umi was a model for Japanese teen magazine 'Popteen'. She was known under the nickname Mi-tan and gathered many fans during this period of time who'd call themselves MiMiNis. She quit the magazine in late 2015 when she decided to pursue a music career♡ She got interested into KPop when she stumbled upon the music video of Red Velvet's Happiness in 2015, she auditioned for multiple companies and passed JYP's Global audition with Lee Hiyori's U-Go-Girl she came in first place and trained in the company for a year and a half
♡ She chose the last name 'Suh' with Tori when they were trainees because Umi liked one of the meanings, this one being 'Sea' which connected perfectly with her name.
♡ It's known among fans and non-fans alike that Umi is called Cherry Bomb's "Lucky Charm" due to her being able to complete every goal she sets her mind to. Once she has mentioned she wants to try a specific thing or to do win something, it's an almost 100% chance of happening
