Great recipes - I especially like the stuffed acorn squash and the pumpkin soup, I've always wanted to try making something savory from pumpkin, instead of just pumpkin pie. My favorite fall foods are butternut squash soup, and baked cinnamon apples

Here's a recipe that is an unusual combo but easy to make https://www.dailyharvestexpress.com/fennel-apple-tart/

@countrycousin I am definitely going to try that recipe out. I especially like that it doesn't have too much added sugar. Apples should be the star and shine all on their own. I will try it just like the recipe, and then try different combos. I might leave the peel on the apple too. Thanks for the recipe.

You have to cut chestnuts with a sharp knife on one side than put them in the oven heated at 220 degree Celsius. About half an hour they are done. You will see cuts are slightly opened and chestnuts little bit darker on the top. They should peel easily. I like them best from the oven.
But you can cook them also but than they are hard to peel even though processed like that are perfect for mashing and making cakes! You can add it in the dough mix or make filling with it.
Also you can buy packed mashed chestnuts, bake your favorite dough and cool it, than mix mashed chestnuts and whipped cream and just fill the dough. Or roll it for the rollade.
Or just crumble the cookies in the glass on the bottom, add mixture of whipped cream and mashed chestnuts, than more whipped cream on top. You can pour liquid chocolate on top of everything. The second favorite! -
