@beverly I think your point is very valid. It would be interesting to know just how much of a cut Patreon do take out of our donations to Urstyle as they are obviously the middle man. Another question for admin @admin to answer please. Further, at https://www.patreon.com/urstyle there is no info on how to stop deductions but it does say below, so I guess there is a way, however I would like to know a bit more before I did that.
CAN I CANCEL MY PLEDGE ANY TIME?
Yes, you can easily cancel or upgrade your pledge at any time! -
@Beverly @FashionMonkey @DotingSage Thank you so much for sharing your information regarding donations to Urstyle via Patreon

@Ollie @greta-martin ~ I am still very concerned regarding this Patreon, out of California. I do not like the fact that Urstyle did not inform us of the situation. One time, you could at least go in and donate on the Urstyle site. Once a month, Patreon uses my credit card. I never gave it to them, only Urstyle I thought would be the only ones. I have no idea how many members donate. After reading many articles on Google's, I do not understand how this scam works.....and that is exactly what it is!! I have a feeling that something has changed and it is not for the benefit of the members. This so called surprise that Urstyle has for us leaves many questions?? I am wondering if Patreon is taking over Urstyle.....hmmm! I will be glad to send the many links to read. Again, something is fishy. Thanks for your messages. Hugs xx

Patreon is a CROWDFUNDING PLATFORM that enables fans (or patrons) to pay and support entrepreneurs, companies, artists for their work. For producers of videos, webcomics, music, podcasts etc., Patreon is a way to earn extra money on what might otherwise be FREE CONTENT.
Patreon takes 5% of the amount paid to creators in fees. Creators keep some 90% of their revenues, with an additional 5% going to transaction fees.

URSTYLE currently has 10 patrons (see image below), I’m one of them. They CERTAINLY won’t be able to pay for the huge site expenses, and they definitely won’t get rich & run away to the Caribbean, with your small contribution. I’m not worried and IT’S NOT A SCAM. A lot of clever (some of them very famous) creators use Patreon & PayPal to receive funds.
It’s evident they are still updating the website, hence the constant clipper malfunctions & other glitches. As far as I know, they are a small team and have to make a living somewhere, if not here.

@jesuisunlapin ~ Maybe you should find out more. I refuse to donate $25 when it does not benefit Urstyle or me!! The patrons are members like me. I am one of the 10!

@jesuisunlapin Thanks for this information, it explains everything we need to know about it my dear .

@beverly best to buy their merch than do the monthly donation
-
@DotingSage ~ I only wanted to donate to Urstyle, not some company such as Patreon who are nothing but scammers, and Urstyle gets hardly any. Thanks for your concerns.
-
@beverly urstyle.com should do a crowd funding. Or do what YouTubers do and how companies sponsor them or do adverts via contests. Even if they asked people who have businesses on urstyle if they want to pay through PayPal to work with them and get advert.
-
@beverly Thank you for this info my dear ... i hope you can stop your monthly donation , everyone has the right to know what has happened with their payments and, if not satisfied, to stop it . Hugs my dear

@dotingsage Patreon is a crowdfunding platform.
-
@beverly it sounds like you didn't have time to read Patreon ‘Terms of Use’ when you created your account. You can review these terms right here: https://www.patreon.com/policy/legal (click the link).
-
@jesuisunlapin I meant another site less scamming.
-
@dotingsage people who consider services ‘scamming’, usually didn’t read ‘Terms of Service’ or ‘Agreements’. Some companies or services can be scams, of course. I’m sure that’s not the case with Patreon.

@beverly you are WRONG on all counts. The statement always read Patreon and their ‘Terms of Use’ were always there, since Patreon was launched 6 years ago! Plus, the URSTYLE team made it very clear from the beginning the supporters would join a separate company:

I understand you are confuse and frustrated, but you are COMPLETELY WRONG.

@jesuisunlapin Thank you but I do not want to cancel my membership donations.I understood when I signed up that Patreon were the middle man, I just didn't know how much they charged for their service out of our donation. I think you said it was 5% somewhere. I am happy with that and continue to remain a patron, I like Urstyle and prepared to help
