WHAT IS A VIGNETTE?
This is a vignette...imagine walking into a newly remodeled living room. From the door your eyes get caught in a hypmtizing stare... fixed only at that relaxing sofa with cool fluffy throw pillows, and an awesome abstract artpiece behind it next to a glare from the window behind that sofa... Its only a view from one spot
only ONE spot without moving the eyes or head. Think of what you would see when doing this trick. Its really all about perspective. The things that are closer to your eye will be larger, the things behind, will get smalIer in size.
You all will learn that using png [transparent background items] work best for this type of set unless you are skillful and have time to crop items out. π
Here are some other things to think about to get a vignette correct and there are many ways to do a vignette. When you walk into space in a furniture store...they have plenty of these. They want you to get a sample of how an item would look in a space and usually these vignettes are not larger than 6ft x 6ft typical. but not all of them do it this way when presenting a vignette.
Another trick, is create a set like usual and zoom the set in about 3 or 4 times depending on the device I suppose and see what is on the screen. Did you like that view, if so...thats your vignette. Grab a frame to help mark your space for the items within that frame. You can crop the edges of the items overflowing outside of that frame or you could even cover it up with a black square/rectangle shape from the shapes tool box and change the color to white [#ffffff]. But keep in mind if you just cover up the items you set presentation might be small.
Don't ever think that a vignette has to be super close up...you could even backout on vignettes but just remember what is in that view when standing and looking in one direction without any movement of the eyes or head.
Our Designer @laughingdog allowed us and accepted some assistance from us on creating this type of set.
Her original set entered "COZY NOOK" was presented in a normal room presentation.
Here is the quickly put together set we showed her as an example of what she can do with her same items and help from png items. Now, this is just one of many ways she could achieve a vignette with the items from her set.
Take a look what willing to learning a new style does...awesome view right.
Way to go @laughingdog
and thanks for allowing us to use this as a learning example for the other Designers
