Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday, Carnival Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday) is celebrated on Tuesday March 5th all across the world. In Louisiana, the Caribbean, and Brazil everything else comes to a grinding halt as the people drink, eat and say "farewell to the flesh" before the lenten season begins on Ash Wednesday.

OMG I loveeee Mardi Gras so much. I used to l ive in SE TX and we would always go to the parades, but alas, now I live in the north.....much pout. This is gonna be the best contest!
