Solution for set-publishing issues
-
Dear friends, last couple of days were quite turbulent on URSTYLE, as there were some unexpected problems and bugs that administrators are taking care of as we speak. Problems with set-publishing were quite persistent, so I wanted to share the information below with you.
Your sets will not get lost, as there are 2 possible outcomes:
- If the site is unable to publish your set, you will get the message "Unknown error occurred while saving set. Do you want to download a backup of your set?". Please make sure to accept the backup copy of your set. It will be saved to your computer and you will be able to upload that backup to Urstyle later via "Load backup" button in the CREATE mode (it looks like a folder with an arrow up). The button next to it can be used for saving backup copies (it looks like a folder with an arrow down). Please see the picture below for reference.
- If your set gets published (you get a Success message), but the set doesn't appear on your profile for a while, or you see a spinning circle on it, that means that the set is going to appear later. Database and servers can get overloaded at times, so they cannot display all data instantly.
Another alternative option when you get an Error message during set-publishing is to save the set as a draft and try to re-publish it later.
I hope that this helps clarify things and relieves you of concern.

@vn1ta Thank you. I'm currently on a hour of spinning on this set https://urstyle.com/styles/1907164 so it's good to know it's coming at some point in time.
-
I appreciate your update. It's been over an hour now on this set https://urstyle.com/styles/1907904 I did get a success message... so I'll wait and hope it will show up soon.
Many thanks ... -
@Myrrael @Syl-CameoJewels Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.
If your sets don't load by tomorrow, please message me (with set titles) and I will tell developers to check the database for you.
-
Thank you for your message. It is very reassuring. I also was trying to publish a set today and got the spinning circle. Thought I lost it; checked to see if it was still in drafts, but wasn't there. So I guess it is in spinning away somewhere in space!! But has anyone noticed that all their draft sets are gone - mine are not appearing. I hope they will reappear once the glitch is fixed. Thanks so much for this explanation and for all your help in the past.

@ellen-hilart16 Yes, this is happening due to database issues. But do not worry, administrators are working on resolving those problems
Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.
-
@ellen-hilart16 Drafts not showing is a lag issue, don't worry. I've actually had it a few times, myself.
-
@Myrrael ~ Thank you!! I was resigned to losing them; glad they will be back!
-
@vn1ta ~ Thank you again & glad to know they are working on the solution!
-
thank you very much for letting us know
-
@ellen-hilart16 No problem

@myrrael said in Solution for set-publishing issues:
We are sorry for that temporary issues, at least you get the set url so you can be sure that it will not gone and be published soon
-
@admin Thank you, but the apology is not needed. Good luck wished on fixing the issue!
-
I did not get an error message but set was never published its been about 3 days just wondering about creating another set but I guess I will take that chance
-
@emcf3548 Did you get a Success message then?
Or did you perhaps close the tab because the publishing took too long (loader spinning)?
What is the set name? Please make sure to provide more details in problem reports.
Sorry for the inconvenience. -
