GIRLS TRIP

  • It was a warm Sunday morning when nine of Hannah Ringwald’s closest friends received an unexpected letter in their mail: a wedding invitation. It’s safe to say that the invitation to such an event came to a surprise to most of them, considering how it wasn’t long ago since Hannah was drunkenly crying about the fact that she’ll die forever alone.
Yes, it’s rather strange, coming from someone as calculating as Hannah, but love tends to do wonders to certain people and the following nine people can’t help but feel ecstatic for their beloved friend. So, the next logical thing to do is throw her a bachelorette party to properly celebrate her last few moments of ‘freedom’.
But, instead of spending a night out drinking fruity cocktails and eating a penis shaped cake, Hannah’s college friends – the so called Core Five, decide to step up their game and take the party back where it all began: St. Tropez. Specifically, spring break circa freshman year where the five of them were forced to share a room together after a room arrangement gone wrong.
Much to their dislike, all of Hannah’s bridesmaids need to tag along for the party and that includes a few newbies such as Hannah’s so called new bff Meredith and her uptight older sister. Along with a bunch of other girls they have never heard of.
    Rules:

    1. A majority of the characters are pre-made, aside from two open characters specifically made for people who like the roleplay but aren’t really drawn by the already given characters. The point of this is to have you be inspired to write for the characters and not just to join because you want to join.
    2. The usual roleplay rules of godmodding and mary-sues also take place. Think of your characters as real people. Meaning, don’t make your characters perfect and flawless. Give them depth, character development – perfect doesn’t mean interesting.
    3. Communicate with one another – the characters all have history between them and have/will form strong friendships and relationships alike during the roleplay. That means exchange ideas, consult one another when it comes writing a story that includes one or more of the members’ characters and etc. No one likes when their character is portrayed differently than imagined, so be respectful.
    4. Be nice to one another. Drama within the roleplay is fine – we all love when our fictional characters throw shade to one another, but make sure it doesn’t cross over in real life.
    5. No Disney, Nickelodeon or site models. The reason why I haven’t assigned faceclaims to the characters is because I know how a certain model or face can inspire you to write and etc. But please keep in mind that this is a diverse group of girls.
    6. This is a story writing roleplay. So if you prefer other ways of roleplaying this group might not be for you. I expect at least one story per week, but if you feel inspired you can write as much as you want. There will be at least two mandatory events per month.

important The Core Five girls have all attended Columbia University.

Biography: When people meet Barbara for the first time, they will notice her warm and welcoming smile, she has this tendency to make people feel comfortable around her and some times they will even reveal all their deepest and darkest thoughts to her. Barbara's friends from high school encouraged her to become a therapist because of her ability to listen and give advice but Barbara wanted to go to Yale and become a lawyer, she loved the power that came with it and she wanted to break away from the image she created, this perfectly sweet friend. No, she wanted to be the ball busting lawyer working for one of the top firms in New York, and guess what? She did and she got a new look as well, dying her beautiful brown locks to a icy blond to showcase her new ice cold personality as well as making new friends but then she met the smooth talking Sebastian Rutherford that is the heir to Rutherford enterprise, they knew each other a year and had a lavish wedding. Even though Barbara tried so hard to let go of the girl she was once, she was still the same naive and optimistic dreamer and this caused her to look the other way when she found her sister's earring underneath her bed, she didn't even confront Sebastian because she didn't want to know. Ignorance is bliss, right? Fortunately Barbara got pregnant, she was excited and for the first time since she got married she felt like she had a purpose in life again but in her third month of pregnancy something went wrong, she came back from work one day because of the horrible cramps she had and she noticed hat her pencil skirt was stained in blood. She had a miscarriage, the doctor said there was nothing that could have prevented it and that it is normal but this didn't take away the pain she felt. Barbara got so depressed, she gained a lot of weight and was miserable at work and to top it off, she wanted to surprise Sebastian and went to the hotel he was staying at in Paris to find him canoodling with her sister Brianna. Heartbroken but determined to start a new life, she filed for divorce, quit her job and got a job as an advice columnist for the fashion magazine Hearst magazine. Barbara has an entire new look , she got rid of her icy blond and went back to the basics, she also bought herself a quaint house in Westchester with the money she got from her divorce and recently she's found herself attracted to her mysterious neighbor Donovan

    CORDELIA “COCO” J , 24
    (6 January, 1994)

    Full Name: Cordelia Liliane Jankowski
    Nicknames: Coco
    Hometown: New York City
    Current Residence: San Francisco, California

Education: a degree in visual arts from Columbia
Occupation: model (so far mostly just on Instagram)

Likes: floral prints, fashion, sketching, photography, lazy weekends, tropical vacations, people, chocolate croissants, cocktails, makeup, her teacup Yorkie
Dislikes: snakes, feeling lonely, unnecessary violence, the sight of blood, alcoholism, bullying, liars, elitism, hypocrisy, politics

Personality: There are two sides to the true Coco: Her public self and the girl she is deep down inside. Most people know her as the outgoing and fun girl that she depicts on her social media, and it’s entirely possible that she actually wants to be that girl, that she thinks she is. But secretly, she’s still that insecure little girl she’s always been, always looking for approval from those around her. Deep down, she wonders if she’s good enough, and she’s yet to actually find a healthy way of helping herself believe that she is. Her friends mean everything to her, as do her family, and she would do anything for them or anyone else who asks anything of her. However, among friends she can actually be herself, unafraid of doing what the group is doing. People are drawn to her, whether she understands why or not. She has an innocence to her, even when she’s gotten herself into the strangest situations, and she’s got a talent of doing so.

    Biography:

    • Her name came from Shakespeare, not a 90s television show. Both her parents were English lit nerds of a sort. Dad has a talent agency and mom currently works behind the scenes on Broadway, which is honestly how they met. Through theater, although ironically neither of their children has shown an interest in the same profession
    • Both Coco and her brother were born in NYC and she’s spent most of her life there, up until her current relationship became a thing and she followed Jasper to California
    • While she studied visual arts in college, she also has an interest in flowers and plants. For a time, her mother joked that it was entirely possible Coco would become a florist.
    • Her older brother was the first person to call her Coco when they were little. The nickname stuck, and to this day, she’s rarely been called by her full first name. Aside from during school by some of her more formal professors.
    • When she first began modeling, she semi-dropped her last name simply because she was convinced it would only lead to people signing her because of her parents. As they do have a tiny bit of influence in the modeling world even though they primarily focus on theater.
    • Her teacup Yorkie, named Chanel as a play off of her nickname, was a gift from her brother last Christmas and she refuses to go anywhere without her. Plus, she’s totally that girl who dresses her dog up in cute little outfits and posts them on her personal Instagram.
    • She has two Instagram accounts, her personal and her professional, and she obsessively keeps track of any new followers on either. Trolls and other negative comments on her posts hurt her immensely, yet she’s too far invested in her online presence to stop.
    • When anyone asks, she says she’s a model. Even though she hasn’t truly gotten any jobs aside from those on Instagram, she fully believes that one day she’ll break through that invisible wall.
    • She didn’t have a serious boyfriend until college, not because guys never tried but more because she was too shy to accept their overtures.
    • Alcohol makes her act entirely unlike her true self, which in a way is why she likes it. She likes pretending that she has never been the wallflower, the quiet girl off to the side of the group.
    • Met her boyfriend when he contacted her through her Instagram page, and the relationship started from there. He helped her set up her own webpage, and curates it when he’s not at work (tbh, when he is at work as well)
    • the big secret is that her boyfriend has been semi-obsessed with her family since he had a secret crush on her mom while they were attending Stanford. Coco is unaware of this though.

    CAT LACHEY, 24
    (July 19th 1993)

    Full Name: Catherine Sue Lachey
Nicknames: Cat - her go to name basically. Kitty Cat, Catnap and bunch of other silly nicknames.
    Hometown: Phoenix, Arizona
Current Residence: Technically Los Angeles, California, but for the past six months she has been living in a tour bus all across America.

    Education: Columbia University (Art Major)
    Occupation: Freelance webtoon artist

Likes: the dollar store, doodling, being out in nature, travelling, the beach, California, thrift stores, beer, summer dresses, manga, bright colors, polka dots, mom jeans, indoor gardens, pretzels, malls, shopping alone, the smell of new books, painting her nails different colors, karaoke, big dogs, clothes with cats on them.
Dislikes: being asked what she technically does for a living, hangovers, not feeling good enough, disappointing her parents (she's halfway there), headaches, working under pressure, pretentious people, Hollywood parties, tight clothing, stan Twitter, her boyfriend's band toxic fans, getting hate comments, getting lipstick on her teeth, doing the laundry, not being able to take at least three showers a day, sunburns.

Personality: Almost her entire life has been labeled as the dreamer - always that friend with the most unrealistic goals and ambitions, that once has the opportunity to make said goals a reality backs out. A hopeless romantic, has a tendency to jump from one relationship to another because she's scared to be alone (or better said being lonely). A loyal friend and partner, cares deeply about everyone and over sympathizes with others, especially when it comes to their problems. Over emotional - tends to get attached to people and to quickly form relationships. Creative and imaginative, but lazy. It's very easy for Cat to get discouraged, especially after a small misstep and has a hard time getting back up. Terrified of taking risks, likes to play it safe even if that means being stuck with a boring job or relationship for the rest of her life.

    Biography:
Cat is the typical black sheep of the family. Except rather than rebelling against her family’s principles and what not, all her life she’s been desperately trying to fit in. Having successful parents means that they will expect the same thing from you one day and boy did they. A typical soccer mom, Cat’s mother has been pushing her daughter into all sorts of things from a young age, but the only thing that seemed to stick were those silly art lessons her father insisted that she should take.
For Cat, art was a getaway – a way she could escape the boring tutors and AP classes she was forced to attend because when she was seven a child psychologist told her mother that she was incredibly intelligent for her age. Maybe back then preferring to spend your afternoon going through various picture books was deemed intelligent, but now at the age of (almost) twenty five Cat doesn’t feel in no way superior to her peers.
As a matter of fact, it has always been the other way around. The plethora of lawyers in her family were ambitious and competitive. Her older step-sister was the talk of dinner parties and birthday parties alike and constantly the inspiration behind the overused comment, “We hope Cat is going to be just like her.” But she wasn’t. And maybe that’s a good thing. In no way possible does Cat want to insult her beloved older sister, but even if she’s paid big bucks there’s no way she would want to turn into someone as uptight and stern as her.
So maybe that’s why she chose the oddest of hobbies and asked to go art camp rather than spend her summers learning Latin or whatever crazy thing would pop into her mother’s head. And for a while, having unconventional interest was fun, especially since having such made her father proud and she loved when he would proudly express how his Cat likes to experiment with different hobbies and techniques and how she’s curious like that. But once the teenage rebellion phase faded out and she found herself stuck in a rut where her mother didn’t compliment her art even once, there was nothing more in the world that Cat wanted other than to fit in with the rest of her boring family.
She quit her art classes and instead began investing herself more in the art of the law. Yes, her mother was beaming and over the moon, but Cat felt herself fall apart with each passing day. So what if she got into the university both her mother and step-sister graduated from? So what if she’s majoring in pre-law and is continuously praised for her essays when her heart it’s not where it should be?
It took Cat a long time to make the decision that might ruin her relationship with her mother forever, but this was her life at stake and her future – so she did it. Cat took that leap of faith and switched her major to art and slowly began to dig her grave. At first it did cause a rift between her and her mother, but at least her father was proud for having his daughter make her own decisions once and for all. It felt liberating to be able to do what she’s always dreamed of, but Cat couldn’t help but wonder if her impulsive decision was the reason why her parents’ marriage came to an end.
It was a relief when she realized that her father had been considering a divorce for quite some time, but that still didn’t make Cat feel better about herself. Or bettered the relationship with her mother in any way. Not only was she now studying something her mother disapproved of, but she was also dating a college drop-out named Jamie Parikh (“A musician!?”) and had completely abandoned her stuck up lawyer ‘friends’.
Fast forwarding to the now – Cat is on tour with her boyfriend’s band. In a Rolling Stones article they were named the ‘Teenage Indie Dream’. They dubbed Jamie the Kurt Cobain of our generation (and angering a lot of Nirvana fans in the process) and comparing the music his band made to great indie bands of other times. It’s safe to say that Cat was overjoyed for the band’s overnight success – mainly because she’s been with them from the very beginning (sort of) and had managed to develop close friendships with the rest of the band members as well.
But the plot twist that awaited her one day it was something she never saw it coming and maybe if she hadn’t been late that day, she probably wouldn’t have seen it at all. Jamie’s serial cheating was heartbreaking, but what was even more awful was the fact that the people she once considered her dear and close friends knew about it all along and didn’t even consider telling her about it. As a matter of fact, they encouraged the constant partying and hook ups, mainly because as available bachelors themselves it was their preferred life style. Sure, they liked Cat, she was always the much needed morale booster, but the same time she was also the annoying, clingy girlfriend that their best friend didn’t have the courage to dump for once and for all.
Because of the sudden break up, Cat’s homeless, unemployed and in no position to take pity from others because of the principles her mother had instilled on her since a young age. Hannah’s bachelorette party seems like the perfect way to forget about her worries even for a little while and maybe find a solution to her rising list of problems.

    MEREDITH LANGENBERG, 25
    (21 March 1993)

    Full Name: Meredith Alexandra Langenberg
    Nicknames: Mer
    Hometown: San Francisco, California
Current Residence: Dubai, United Arab Emirates (she’s currently there for a job)

Education:  Graduated at Regent’s University London in Interior Design
    Occupation: Interior designer for hire

Likes: Her yacht (her family is very wealthy after all), travelling, architecture, fashion, red lipstick enthusiast, wine, playing the piano, keeping her body in shape, relaxing by the sea, safaris
Dislikes: fake friends (and she has met many of them along the way), cheap designers, cockroaches (no offence but…who even likes cockroaches? lol), not having her hair done, not being able to get what she wants

Personality: she doesn’t open up to people easily, you have to gain her trust, so she can come off a bit as aloof; this is mostly a mechanism of self-defence: a lot of people want to get close to her because of her family and not because they’re actually interested in being her friend. She can’t stand people who think she gets jobs just because she’s Langenberg’s daughter (yes, that happened a couple of times, but she’s actually a very skilled designer). She is trying to distance herself from her family because she doesn’t want to be just “Langenberg’s daughter”, she’s Meredith Alexandra Langenberg, a promising young interior designer and a woman who can make it on her own (but she knows very well that being born in a loaded family allowed her to do a lot of things). Despite this whole distancing thing, she loves her parents.
She wants only the best…of everything, so she can also come up as snobbish at times. At first glance you probably think she’s your typical spoiled rich girl: that’s only because she’s a bit wary, but once you get to know her (or: once she lets you get to know her) she’s actually fun and can even joke around.
Nobody messes with her: get in her way and she will put you in your place.

Biography: Born in San Francisco, California, she’s the daughter of the German entrepreneur Günther Langenberg (CEO of an extremely succesfull company) and English opera singer Abigail Palmer.
Even though her father is a very busy man, he always made time for his only daughter and he talked to her in German from the day she was born, so she is bilingual. One of the best memories Meredith has of him is when he took her (it was a dad-daughter trip for her eighth birthday and he had to think of something special as Abigail was touring) for a safari in Africa; every now and then she goes back there.
Meredith’s mother is a kind woman who worked really hard to become who she is now. She loves music and has thought Meredith how to play the piano.
Both of her parents travel a lot because of their jobs but before Mer was born they settled in San Francisco, California, so that makes Meredith an American girl.
She wasn’t homeschooled because her parents didn’t want her to; during her high school years something happened, an “accident” involving ambulances and hospitals and Meredith’s name was made…but nobody really knows what happened and, anyway, nobody says a thing.
Mer’s passion for interior design took her to London: she studied hard and now is a rising interior designer star; she was also featured on a couple of magazines.
Going to school made her realise how shallow people can be: she got close to this girl once and they became best friends, only to find out that that girl was just using her because of her family’s wealth.
And let’s not talk about boyfriends: most of them were sons of people who wanted to become Günther Langenberg’s business partners, so why not dating his daughter?
She actually had a decent boyfriend and dated for three years, but eventually broke up with him when he proposed — drunk — at a party.
She laid low for a while: no friends, no boyfriends, nothing, untile one day she met William. Something clicked and, for the first time in her life, she found someone who was actually interested in her as Meredith and not as Langenberg’s daughter. The two of them became really close and the feelings she felt for him eventually grew into something more.
Not long ago she met Hannah (-> where and how? TBD with the person who plays as Hannah) […] and Mer decided to introduce her William. (-> TBD: how did they meet?)
When Meredith found out Hannah and William were getting married after only sixth months they knew each other, she felt lowkey bitter over it. But after all, both Hannah and William didn’t know anything about it, she never said a word to anyone, right? So, what’s the issue…?

    HANNAH RINGWALD, 24
    (October 3rd, 1993)

    Full Name: Hannah Elizabeth Ringwald
    Nicknames: Han, Han-Han, Hanny, Mom
    Hometown: Boston, Massachusetts
    Current Residence: Brooklyn, New York

Education: Graduated last spring with her Masters of Science in Accounting and Fundamental Analysis from Columbia
Occupation: New hire at Kiwi Partners, which specializes in helping the nonprofit community with all their accounting, consulting, and human resources needs
(Didn’t want to step on the audition for Barbara so I thought that they could have been coworkers at the place Hannah just left? That way their audition can decide where.)

Likes: math and how numbers just make sense, the swept-her-off-her-feet love story she has with her fiancé, walking through parks, rosé, New England accents, talking fast, photos of her father, her parents’ love story, planning her dream wedding, reading, getting mani-pedis with her friends, girls night out, traveling
Dislikes: the tight budget that is putting a damper on some aspects of her vision, children, New York traffic, problems that can’t be solved with numbers or logic, beer, not seeing her friends for a long period of time, how her dad can’t walk her down the aisle, watching sports on tv (but she can handle in person because the atmosphere is fun), waiting in long lines

Personality: Every group ends up with their own version of The Mom Friend, and for the Core Five, that’s Hannah Ringwald. Hannah has been taking care of people her whole life; she has a hard time letting go of control. While she likes to pretend that she can be easy going because she is not as high-strung as her older sister, there is no denying that she is still an uptight girl. But everyone will thank her Type-A, calculate-for-all-possible-errors personality later when the wedding goes exactly according to plan and nothing goes wrong. (Or so she likes to believe.) Hannah still listens well to others, sometimes even too well given how easily she can sway to her friends’ peer pressure. She just wants everyone to be happy, which can sometimes mean bending over backwards for others when she shouldn’t. As the group mom, she also tends to be the peacekeeper between any tiffs. Hannah is diplomatic and urbane, as well as nurturing, romantic, and charming. Her flirty nature has gotten the entire Core Five into trouble more than once, but it has done especially detrimental numbers on Hannah. Before Liam, she thought her love life was doomed. And now that she is giving herself fully to the whims of passion, she couldn’t be more excited for the rest of her life to begin. But some may say this is just another Hannah Ringwald moment of being much too self-indulgent...

Biography: Hannah is the second daughter to Patrick and Isabelle Ringwald, but she was only five years old when her father unexpectedly passed away in a car accident. While their strong and independent mother raised both girls with plenty of love and good intentions, it was not always blissful. She is a conservative woman with high expectations that Hannah desperately wants to meet, which can sometimes be a crushing pressure.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Hannah, in turn, has also always worried about her mother. She never dated after their father’s death. She poured herself into her career and raising her daughters, which left little room for caring for herself. Hannah still doesn’t see the reflection in her own life — being so worried about others that you neglect your own happiness. But Hannah believes in soulmates, and she often thinks that is why her mother never dated again. The story of how her parents met and fell in love was her favorite bedtime story; it has inspired her to find her own romantic adventure since she was a little girl.
⠀⠀⠀⠀She would be crushed if she knew the truth — that her parents had no fairytale story and were really on the brink of a divorce. In Isabelle’s mind, her children were so young when they lost their father. All they would have of him would be stories and memories. She wanted them to only think the best of him, regardless of the poor actions and bad decisions he had been making near the end of his life. Creating the perfect love story seemed like the best way to help them cope, as well as give them a piece of him forever. While Isabelle sometimes regrets it now, she has stood by the intricate lie. There is no telling how crushed Hannah would be if she learned the truth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀The Ringwald girls never lived an incredibly luxurious life, but they also had everything they needed. Sure, some of Hannah’s more affluent cousins mocked her for attending public school, but what did she care? Regardless of how much she paid to attend high school, she had big plans for herself. When Hannah had a list of goals and paths on how to get there, she felt invincible. She rowed competitively for years, and while it was never something she was passionate about, she poured her energy into it because she knew a scholarship would make or break her ability to attend a more expensive university. High school was always about getting into a great college. Between rowing, extracurriculars, and AP classes, Hannah never had time for something as silly as a rebellious stage. She would feel way too guilty acting out anyway. Her mom didn’t deserve that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀The arrival of the crisp, pristine Columbia envelope was the answer to all her dreams (and her mother’s prayers). With her position on the rowing team, she could truly afford her acceptance to their accounting program.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Since so much of her life was devoted to just getting to college, Hannah found herself lost upon arrival. She had never drank alcohol before, and she had a hard time developing friendships with her peers. While she had her team, there was little in common with them outside rowing. She thought all she would find at Columbia was fulfillment and happiness, but she was only lonely and jaded. So when her sort-of-friend-roommate recommended they let loose in St Tropez for Spring Break, Hannah was hesitant. Would it be another week of being the awkward kid in the corner? But eventually she caved, and that week changed her life.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Five girls from all over with a range of personalities were booked in the same room as a fluke, but after a week of drinking until puking (Hannah really didn’t know her tolerance back then), singing along to horrible music, and laughing until they cried, they found themselves hanging out even back at Columbia. Their friendship was inseparable from them on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀The Core Five gave Hannah boisterous confidence. She finally learned how to do all of the important things — like a keg stand, rolling a joint, and climbing over bar fences to avoid the cover. While she doesn’t remember every night, she is thankful for how her friends finally taught her how to live a little. She was there to care for them through every wild and calm moment, and they were there when she gave her heart to another boy, only to have it shattered again. Hannah thought maybe it was just bad luck at first, since she hadn’t dated around in high school and hadn’t “learned the rules of the game.” But love proved itself to be an elusive hope that she couldn’t seem to stop chasing. She never seemed to learn.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Having enjoyed everything about Columbia once she met her friends, Hannah decided to earn her masters there as well. Despite her various efforts to find a man that would treat her right, The Core Five continued their ritual of ice cream, rosé, and game nights to keep Hannah from crying alone in her bed over another fuckboy. In fact, the last time they did so was hardly seven months ago. When Hannah mentioned barely a month later that she had fallen in love at first sight, Monica was already on the lookout for a good coupon for Ben & Jerry’s.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Hannah is a calculator. She is picky but still an optimist. That’s why everyone was shocked not only when William proposed after just six months of knowing each other but to the fact that their overthinking, inflexible Hannah said yes.
She seems to have thrown her usual caution to the wind.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Hannah very openly calls Liam “The One” and praises how she found her “soulmate.” While her friends have been whispering among themselves about her maybe being knocked up or pressured for some other reason, there seems to be a consensus as equally as shocking as the engagement: Hannah actually means it. And Liam seems...not bad? (The Core Five jury is still deciding that one, but he seems to be ticking all the boxes so far.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀At first, Hannah thought about having a small, intimate bridal party, but when it came to narrowing down her list, she just couldn’t bear to do so. She has a special bond with all of the girls she has chosen to “drag” down to St Tropez. Now it has turned into a big white wedding with a slew of girls next to her at the alter, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. With the love of her life, her friends, and her carefully organized binder, nothing could go wrong.

*** Since her older sister is also playable, I tried to be very conscious about leaving some things vague and/or flexible. I do have a lot plotted for their parents, but that doesn’t have to be set in stone. If there ends up being a sister audition and if I get this role, I will happily discuss the details and assign them in a way where we are both happy. Please know that anything I have that also impacts the sister can be changed if you are the sister and want to take things a different route. I’m open to all ideas!

  • Hey guys, I'm really excited that you are interested in Girls Trip! Something that I forgot to mention in the description is that all the girls were residing in NYC for their college days and attending Columbia University.

  • The PACT a roleplay!

    @spacelava
Barbara as well? since she's older and only a coworker does she have to attend columbia as well?

  • @expiredsunshine she's someone Hannah met through work so it's not mandatory for her to have attended Columbia - unless of course you want her to.

  • 0_1530042576858_5bd51ba4-a878-4182-887c-f4a8ad396336_original.png NAME, AGE Elizabeth Grant, 24
    August, 4 1993

    Full Name: Elizabeth Faye Grant
    Nicknames: Bizzy
    Hometown: Asheville, North Carolina
    Current Residence: Manhattan, New York

Education: BA in Communications and Creative Writing from Columbia, University
Occupation: works at a real estate firm doing their communication and social media

Likes: partying, her job on most days, lavender scented candles, margaritas, binging shows on Netflix, small dogs, reading, writing her many unfinished novels, cleaning at 3am, cookies and cream ice-cream
Dislikes: her strict parents, gardening, rice pudding, writers block, being single, snapchat filters, baggy jeans on guys, watermelon flavored anything, cats, math

Personality: She is very outgoing and the life of the party. She is wild and crazy at times but knows when to pull in the reins like with her parents. She is loyal to her friends and would do anything for them. She can be stubborn most of the time. She hates to be single but is afraid of commitment. She bites her nails when she is nervous.

Biography: Elizabeth grew up in Asheville North Carolina to a Baptist preacher and a school teacher. She went to private schools and was very sheltered until college at Columbia University.
Elizabeth never even had a drink until her freshman year of college. She quickly became the party girl though and as guys would call her “The fun one” She would hook up with guys and when they got too serious she would cut them loose. She saw what a marriage looked like and didn’t want to turn into her parents.
Her parents are truly great people but are strict believers and Elizabeth just isn’t. She believes in God, and prays every night to this day but she doesn’t see the point in being this extremely religious person anymore. That is until her parents come to visit then she is the prim and proper little angel they remembered.
Elizabeth had a plan for herself and so far nothing is on track. She lives in this tiny apartment in New York, working at a real estate firm and hasn’t written anything substantial in over a year. Maybe this wedding is what she needs, a break from the normal. She was a little surprised the first of the core 5 getting married would be Hannah but shes happy for her. Who knows this aventure might be what she needs to cure her writer’s block.

    ELIZABETH GURUSKY, 24
    (August 7th, Leo)

    Full Name: Elizabeth Norma Gurusky
    Nicknames: Lizzie, G-Money, Flora
    Hometown: Amherst, Massachusetts
Current Residence: New York, New York

Education: Columbia University (Archeology, minor Political Science), currently working on finishing up Grad school, hopes to get a PhD.
    Occupation: Curation intern, AMNH

Likes: manhattans, people making fun of her, getting invited to upper class gigs, heels, anything glamorous, a good old fashioned PBR, supporting her buds, taking friends out, take-out, science, old things, national geographic, collecting animal bones, cool evenings, people watching in Central Park, beer, playing bartender, weddings (open bar only), bubble bath, stealing hulu passwords, traveling, sex.
Dislikes: still paying money to go to school (currently attending grad school for, reflecting on high school, having to ask her parents for financial support, how costly drinking is, the double life she leads, waking up with a hangover, trying to validate some of the bullshit her friends try to pull, the idea of being tied down at 24, when her parents give her a curfew when she's visiting them, airplanes, pets, her allergy meds.

Personality: Was, and always has been...a party girl. The life of the party, with plenty of issues up her sleeve but she tries her best to keep afloat and stay focused on supporting her friends. There are two sides to Elizabeth Gurusky, and one is rarely seen around friends aside from those closest to her. Was always weirdly good at school, despite starting to drink around 17 and continuing to even now. Positive, not so easily overwhelmed by everyday frustrations. Stubborn, loyal, weirdly patient all things considered, adventurous, cunning, affectionate, incredibly reliable...she WILL drive three hours to bring you a tampon if you're desperate. Rowdy with her friends, reserved in private, playful. Can be totally insensitive about personal issues.

Biography: (y'all know i suck @ bios so this is a mix of actual character shit and headcanons)
💫 The origin of her name. Listen, it's important to her. Listen, her parents banged one night in their Astrophysics lab and they were sitting next to a book on Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille and a week later Adana found out she was pregnant. They named her after some 18 century scientists constellation discovery. It's cute or whatever, but the story hasn't aged well.

    • Science may as well been the families religion, since just about everything in her families life revolves around it. She was always successful in her mathematics and science courses but that rebellious streak still slipped out.
    • Doesn't talk about her families financial situation but the Gurusky's are incredibly well off...though they're the sort of well off that still lives in a town house and avoids eating out as much as possibly. Being rich always made her immensely uncomfortable, even now.
    • Chose to attend Columbia since it has one of the better Archeology programs, ended up having a serious love hate relationship with it but she can boast about the fact that she single handedly brought the party to her department.
    • Low key has street cred, everyone who knew her in passing was surprised she stayed enrolled but she managed to keep a 4.0 GPA for all four years except her last term when she got a D in a Core art class.
    • She really is that girl who parties hard...like HARD but still manages to stay afloat, though it seems with age the bounce back might be growing more and more challenging.
    • The sort of shallow popular you always strive to be, but soon realize isn't up to snuff. In Hannah and the rest of the core five she found a solid group of friends but her partying ways often led to less then valuable connections (but as she'll mention, a lot of great sex).
    • Met Hannah in a Statistics course her sophomore year and while reluctant to become too close ended up finding a best friend for the ages in the Accounting major.
    • Frequently sees her father as part of her job, tot he point where she keeps a change of clothes in the corner of her shared office just in case
    • She was always one of the few people who could keep up with Hannah, made more impressive by all the binge drinking she did on week days (and how the hell did she get GOOD weed in NY?).
    • Thinks Hannah is making the wrong decision about getting married so quickly, but is overwhelmingly happy for her friend since that sort of romantic stability hasn't been part of Elizabeth's life.
    • Has recently started seeing a colleague at AMNH, Dan (fc; Steven Yeun) but is struggling with balancing yet another relationship between her many worlds. But he might also be the first person who can get her to enjoy herself without a shot (or three).
    • Thought Hannah was bullshitting her when she asked if she'd be maid of honor. Some of the other girls have expressed their concern but it's only motivating Elizabeth more. For every bit of gossip, and snide comment from a co-worker...Elizabeth tries to out do herself and that may end up being her downfall.
    • Elizabeth really isn't ready for the real world. But thats an existential crisis for another day.
    • Has always had a penchant for fashion, and even when she was throwing herself drunkenly onto

🌿 hasn’t really changed much since her college days
🌿 her parents are super strict so whenever they are around she living a double life where she’s prim and proper and doesn’t have an alcohol dependency
🌿 Hannah’s unlikely best friend and her future maid of honor
🌿 during her college years she was known for her hardcore partying (obviously) and that one time hooked up with this famous Swedish DJ.

TDLR; She's like a weird combination of the Isla Fischer and Kirsten Dunst character from Bridesmaids. Somehow manages to be the head bitch in charge but ALSO the one so drunk she can barely stand.
