None of my old ones ever made it off the ground so I’m hoping Urstyle can be a fresh start::
Murder on Broadway
June 24th comes around. It’s a Sunday that starts like any other. Members of the crew come in at 6 in the morning to begin set up for the 2 o’clock matinee. The choreographer is always next in. They have to fix the marks and help any of the cast fix a couple of moves. They usually arrive at 7. They have only a half hour of mostly quiet before the orchestra and composer start filling in at half past 7. By 8 in the morning most of the cast has arrived, all but one. By 9, her understudy is called in because no one has time to get over to her place to see what’s happening and get back in time.
The show goes off without a hitch. The up and coming star wows everyone and garners all of the applause. Nobody truly thinks of the fact that the other lead isn’t there.
By 4 o’clock the theater is closing, plans made. The Young Starlet and a few members of the cast go to the producer’s penthouse for a party and life is good.
Life is normal.
They enjoy the hour of partying because while they don’t know it, across town Madeline Casey’s body is being found by her personal assistant who had been given the day off. At exactly 5:01 in the evening, Broadway changes forever.
And it will never be the same again.

~ Madeline agreed to call in sick some nights in order for her to get stage time in front of some big names in exchange for something

~ Wrote the entire manuscript and made sure that when selling it to a producer, they got to direct
~ This is their third broadway musical that they have written and directed and they are finally getting the appreciation they deserved

Adeline does not have much to do with fame in her younger years. As a member of the British aristocracy, more specifically the upper nobility, she spends her weekends attending lavish teas and horse races. She attends a co-ed preparatory school for all ages and she goes through the stages of life there. At 14 she auditions for the school musical and gets cast as the lead. It is the most exciting time of her life and she decides she wants to do even more.
Her parents indulge what they think is only a hobby.
She auditions for the first semester play and once again scores lead. First semester is only a play with no singing but it is there that Adeline truly falls in love with Shakespeare. She plays Juliet in the classic Romeo and Juliet and she receives only positive comments.
The break between Christmas and New Years is a long one and Adeline’s parents usually take her somewhere warm, Bora Bora and the Maldives being examples, and they wanted to again. But her mother receives a phone call from her sister Sophia, the fashion editor at Vogue, who offers Adeline to come stay with her for the week preceding Christmas. Her parents were never able to resist the puppy dogs eyes.
Sophia takes her niece to see two Broadway shows and secretly schedules her a broadway audition. It is for one of three lead parts and she knows her niece is perfect for the part. It takes a bit of convincing for Adeline to agree but Sophia knows it has always been her biggest dream.
Adeline goes to the audition and she leaves thinking she didn’t get it. Her aunt brings her to a photoshoot afterwards and they are down a model so Adeline stands in. She is beautiful and emotional in only the eyes, and the photographer loves her. She has done a successful photoshoot for vogue in thousands of dollars worth of clothes.
Check that off her bucket list.
One week later she is with Sophia in her office at Vogue looking through prints from her photoshoot. They are beautiful and the editor in chief loves all of them which is the best thing that could happen. It is calm and quiet until Adeline receives a phone call. She answers with shaky hands and manages to calmly thank the casting director before hanging up and squealing. She is officially a working actress.
The call with her parents is not all that pleasant. Her mother caves after two days of intense arguing because she just wants her daughter to be happy. It takes longer to convince her father who is responsible for worrying about the reputation it will bring upon the family. It is only with a blessing from a member of the royal family does her father finally cave. So rehearsals are set to begin Easter break, three months after christmas. Adeline will finish her year earlier than planned and return to her aunt Sophia’s home for rehearsals that will last two months and open in the summer. The plan is that Adeline is only supposed to do the show for two and a half months. She is so popular that they extend her contract and she switches to New York for schooling. She leaves the show after four months and receives a Tony for all of her hard work.
At 17 Adeline is wrapping up her Junior year of High School. She has signed on to guest star on a T.V. show for three episodes. Her character rates so well they turn her into a recurring character with a possibility of main cast. Then the offer for The Apartment Building comes up and she can’t resist.
Motive: Madeline has been her mentor but had really only used it as an opportunity to make Adeline miserable
CAREER:
History - Adeline only truly begins acting when she stars in Back To The Beginning. Playing one of two lead roles, she portrayed the younger version of the main character for majority of Act 1 and half of Act 2. It launched her career in more ways than one. Following her Tony win Adeline guest stars on Supernatural for three episodes. She plays a young woman in need of help turned hunter with a spinoff in the mix. From there she hops onto a Disney Original Movie and wades into the idea of signing a disney contract. Those two potential revenue streams are just minor motivations in her plan to become one of the best actresses in the world.

- Born and raised by her mom and grandmother in Michigan. Showed interest in acting and music from an young age, thus why her mother enrolled her for piano and dance lessons since she was six years old. According to her, such activities were never really forced on her and that she herself insisted for them.
- Her mother had to work two jobs in order to support their move to Los Angeles, as well as their stay there. It wasn’t until Tonie got signed with Disney. Unlike the rest of the girls her age, it seemed that Tonie was destined to either play the sassy best friend or the rival, but never the main character. Up until one of the shows she starred in got its own spin off, but unfortunately that didn’t last long due to poor writing and low ratings.
- Due to her mother’s insisting, Tonie enrolled in university right after her show’s cancellation while secretly auditioning for various roles her agent got her. Eventually she was offered a starring role in Fox’s adaptation of the musical drama Fame, where she would not online showcase her talent for acting, but also her talent for singing and playing the piano. Tonie would later get nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Scene Stealer the following year.
- Aside from her television gig, Tonie made sure she slowly, but surely made her mark on the big screen as well. Much like in her Disney days, she once again scored minor roles, but always made sure she gave her 101% so she would be memorable. It was during one of those movies where she met Madeline. On screen the two played best friends and their chemistry was so unbelievable that the producers promoted the movie along with their off screen friendship. Sadly, the two didn’t get along as well as they did behind the cameras so every second they spent together was accompanied with forced smiles and empty conversations.
- It wasn’t long before they had their public fall out – Tonie was painted as the villain in the scenario but she didn’t really care, she had a show to film and a role in an upcoming superhero movie – both that were incredibly successful due to the publicity. She is slowly becoming a favorite not only among directors, but among designers and photographers as well.
- Her show’s final season is currently in the making as she only recently wrapped a movie that will very surely be a fan favorite among the Academy as well as the several film festivals. The movie already has enough publicity, but you can never have enough so the producers are pushing Tonie to take part in a faux romance with her co-star. She’s not opposed to the idea, because the two of them get along great, but there’s also the part where she’s starring in Broadway with an ex whom she’s still very much in love with. History – Started off as a child actor in various Disney shows – always played the snarky best friend or the main character’s rival. Her most memorable role is the one of Raye Williams where she plays the rival of Elle Kingston’s (think Selena Gomez) character. The pair’s dynamic drew so much attention that Disney proposed a spin off show where the two characters attend university together and are roommates. But the show wasn’t as popular as predicted and it was cancelled only after one season. During her Disney contract she started a music career, that garnered her a small fan base, but never truly broke out as the rest of her colleagues. When her contract with Disney expired, she decided to continue her education by enrolling in UCLA where she would study film and music, only to drop out five months later when offered to star on the Fox’s musical drama Fame inspired by the 1980 film and television series of the same name. Tonie played the role of Denise Dupree, a talented singer and pianist. During the series run, Tonie released her first solo album, In Motion. Although not entirely successful, the album received positive reviews, in which many praised her vocals. In the years that followed she has had small roles in several comedies – her most notable being her role in 22 Jump Street where she played Maya Dickson, the daughter of Ice Cube’s character as well as Jonah Hill’s love interest and Beth in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. Biography: Aurora despite growing up in the city of angels she’s never really been much of one. When she was a child she starred in Barney along with a couple of big named celebrities. Her parents thought her acting career would take off after that. They were wrong. As she grew up she wasn’t remembered as someone who was on Barney. She was overshadowed by her more famous co-stars. She did, however, catch a big break when she was 15. She played in the hit Disney movie Camp Rock, starring alongside names like Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers. Though her role was outstanding she was soon forgotten. One night she got drunk and wrecked the set with some fellow cast mates. The cops showed up and caught her. No one else was caught. She got fired and her name was tarnished. Despite her amazing voice and acting abilities, no one will hire her. So she decided to quit acting under her real name and make a new image for herself. This was the birth of Lily Skye. She dyed her hair and wears colored contacts to castings and introduces herself under the alias of Lily Skye. This is her first show as Lily.
Motive: Being extorted/blackmailed by Madeline. Somehow Madeline found out about her past and threatened to expose her. Aurora begged her not to do it, saying she needed a new start. Madeline obliged. She made a deal with Aurora. She’d keep her secret and call in sick a few shows so she could get her stage time but she had to do something for her. Madeline suspected she was in trouble and she needed help on figuring out who was following her and sending her weird things.

They both look really good. I'm trying to see if anyone else wants to join but I don't want to push. In terms of first show, it should be your first broadway show. The concept I have for the show they are doing is called The Apartment Building where it focuses on three different apartments and their lives until they finally all cross paths.

tbh this looks really fascinating to me because I'm a bit obsessed with theater (okay, musicals but w/e). The first problem with me is that I should really finish up the auditions I already have going for a couple other rps here, and also, I'm sad there isn't a costume coordinator/designer lol So I'm having an issue deciding who to try out for.

Hey, is it possible to create like a intern character? like an film student that has an internship working as an assistant to the director and maybe madeline was terrorizing her or making her do terrible tasks -
Okay, weird question. If we're auditioning for a crew member, not an actor/actress position, do we still need to include the voice claim/acting claim part of the form? (because yes, I'm considering auditioning for the costume designer, especially as I'd had a costume designer/costumer character eons ago on Polyvore for an RP that never went anywhere)

I don't mind creating a couple of other characters. I had a certain amount in mind for this group so I will take out some of them. I guess for this time around I'm going to just replace the Composer and the Male Lead with the two new characters. In the future I will know to leave the number of characters larger and one or two open slots
