IMPORTANT PLEASE EVERYONE READ
- Officially, auditions will end June 30th. I’m going to Bulgaria from the 24th-29th, so I won’t be around to respond right away. But I’ll answer any questions and keep up with your sets when I’m able.
- I tried to keep things super vague when it came to marriage / relationships / etc for the most part. HOWEVER, if your character has graduated Hogwarts and you maybe want them to be married, that’s fine. War times often fuel early marriages. If you want them in a committed relationship, that’s fine.
- BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, you can’t necessarily decide those details 1000% now, since someone could pick that character and have their own ideas. You can reserve love interests only after auditions are done. I will send you a message if you have a canon love interest (as most do) that stayed open to give you a first dibs on them. But you absolutely don’t have to go for that!!!! I don’t care at all if, for example, Lily and James don’t get together. (I mean yeah in my heart I’m crying bc I love them but it is totally fine haha.)
- Let me know if none of that makes sense, but hopefully it does. I’ve partied a bit too hard so I may be off to bed soon, but I’ll catch up with audition reading soon
It is not personal if I send you some feedback on changes for your audition; just sometimes necessary for the diversity of characters and the group. Thanks to those who have already understood and edited I can’t wait for this to start! - As a sort of awkward p.s., I don’t mind that like basically the entire group is bisexual. I’m sure it’s because any character can be any gender and you just want to be flexible. I totally get it!!! But just so you know, you don’t have to make them bi haha. (Happy pride month! I’m bi too and I know erasure is #real, so pls don’t turn this into a thing it’s not haha. This was just about wanting to let you all know that you can be anything and you should just stick to what works for the character and your ideas.)

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE if you all inserted pictures of your sets on your auditions and every time you post, just because I think this forum is so sad looking and could use some cheering up! In order to do so, right click your set and open it in a new tab. Then copy that link! When you push the photo icon on a forum post, there is a part to paste the image link. Then boom, a beautiful set in the forum post that we can all admire

- Magically, Lily is rather gifted. That doesn’t stand to reason that she doesn’t study for her classes. She just picks up the spells and such rather easily. Potions is her best subject, however she has skills in Charms and Transfiguration as well. Plus, she’s rather an expert dueller.
- Somehow, she has the ability of seeing the best in others, even if they themselves are unable to, and she will fight for those people with everything she has (unless they betray her)
- She stands by her self-imposed principles no matter what
- She can be courageous when the need arises, hence how she ended up in Gryffindor
Flaws/Weaknesses ⋆
- Deep down, she feels the sting of being Muggleborn. But only a few people know this about her because she will defend anyone no matter their blood status
- She absolutely hates the sight of blood, when it isn’t Potions-related
- She has a bit of a temper and can sometimes make rash decisions/hold grudges. Namely, if someone ends up on her bad side, they’ll have to prove themselves before she will associate with them again, but then she also can be a bit hypocritical insofar as she’ll reprimand her friends if they do the same.
- There’s a level of self-sacrifice in her that’s dangerous. She will quite literally put herself in front of her loved ones if there’s danger, or even just something as simple as an argument
Personality ⋆ At her core, Lily can be described as a spine of steel encased in a silk package. Every fiber of her being radiates kindness and empathy, yet she’s also vivacious and outgoing. The only difference being that she actually, generally, is going to consider the other person’s feelings before her own. She sees the best in people even when they can’t see it themselves. Disapproval hurts her, yet she can also, quite regularly show, if not outright disapproval, disappointment with her friends’ decisions, and this gets tested quite regularly with her alignment with the Marauders nearly a given fact. However, she retains her own self no matter what. Her own beliefs and her own rules. Her own brand of wittiness and cleverness, yet that’s never been something she’s acknowledged herself. All she’ll acknowledge is that she’s herself, and she stands by her belief that she makes her own decisions, not anyone else. She has an innate courage running through her veins, whether or not it generally is shown in the usual way.
Biography ⋆ Born the younger daughter to two Muggles, the young Lily always had something to prove. However, seeing her sunny nature, it seemed to everyone who knew her that she’d accomplish just about anything she set her mind to. The young Lily was rather inseparable from her older sister, Petunia, even if Tuney was always the dark to her younger sister’s sunlight. They did just about everything together, a regular yin yang situation, until Lily showed her first sign of magic. This, along with her friendship with Severus/Severina Snape, seeing as they came from poverty and also showed tendencies toward having abilities, tested the sisters’ relationship immensely. Mostly due to Petunia’s envy of her little sister’s abilities and jealousness that she didn’t share them, yet to this day the elder Evans sister won’t admit that.
However, Lily loved her abilities, and the stories that Snape told her about the Wizarding world and Hogwarts, and she was elated when she got her letter, her wand, and everything that proved she was a witch. The only dark spot in her sunny world was the knowledge that Tuney couldn’t follow her, yet that spot has gotten smaller and smaller over the years. She’s never forgotten where she’s come from, but the possibilities ahead have grown much more enticing and yet also frightening.
Getting to Hogwarts, she wasn’t sheltered anymore from the darker side of the Wizarding world, but Lily hasn’t backed down. Sorted into Gryffindor, people flocked to her and it’s both helped her blossom and also given her the reason to not want to welcome the change that her future after Hogwarts would mean. Not to mention the fact she’s constantly found herself being tested, given the innate enmity that seemed to exit from day one between her housemates, several of them specifically, and her best friend from home. Tensions can only build for so long before they reach a breaking point, and even Lily can’t say she knows who’s going to be the one who breaks. Personality ⋆ Raised with little contact of people her own age, there is no denying that Remus is almost as socially awkward as they come. To people outside of the Marauders, her quirks are often a bit too much to handle. She might interrupt you in the middle of a sentence because she forgot that it's impolite, and she can be almost brutally sarcastic. Remi is quite shy, knowing how she can be so odd, but also, of course, because she is smothering the dark secret of her lycanthropy. She may seem more mature than her hooligan friends, and in some ways she is....but that should never be mistaken for being less mischievous. Just because the professors made her prefect doesn't mean she isn't devious. In fact, it was she who started building this tool called the Marauder's Map. All the better to sneak about and get up to trouble. Often slouching to seem smaller than her tall, lanky self, she has an unending amount of insecurities. She struggles with the darkness of her condition. She struggles with feeling worthy. Remus is often afraid that those close to her will one day wake up and no longer care for her because they realized how much of a burden she is. Due to this fear, she often lets her friends do things she doesn't approve up simply because she doesn't want to question them and maybe make them like her less. She has almost apologized to Snape before, but she can't build up the courage. Sometimes she wonders if she deserves to be a Gryffindor. She doesn't often feel brave. As a contrast to her fellow Marauders, Remi is very rarely rash; in fact, overthinking everything is a speciality that Sirius often teases her for. Around the full moon, she is fidgety and beyond exhausted. Her eyes are sunken hallows. She has been kept up all night with nightmares and dread. She is a shadow of a girl.
Biography ⋆ Lyall and Hope Lupin’s first and only child, Remus Jane, was born after a year of marriage. A happy, healthy little girl, she showed early signs of magic, and both parents imagined that she would follow in her father’s footsteps, attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in due course.
⠀⠀⠀⠀By the time that Remus was four years old, the amount of Dark magical activity across the country was increasing steadily. While few yet knew what lay behind the mounting attacks and sightings, Lord Voldemort’s first ascent to power was in progress, and Death Eaters were recruiting all kinds of Dark creatures to join them in their quest to overthrow the Ministry of Magic. The Ministry called in the services of authorities on Dark creatures – even those as minor as Boggarts and poltergeists – to help it understand and contain the threat. Lyall Lupin was among those asked to join the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, which he did gladly. It was here that Lyall came face-to-face with a werewolf called Fenrir Greyback, who had been brought in for questioning about the death of two Muggle children. In front of him, Lyall dared to describe werewolves as ‘soulless, evil, deserving nothing but death’.
⠀⠀⠀⠀The wizard who escorted Greyback out of the inquiry was intending to place a Memory Charm upon him, so that he would forget having been inside the Ministry. Before he had a chance to do so, he was overpowered by Greyback and two accomplices who had been lurking at the entrance, and the three werewolves fled.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Greyback lost no time in sharing with his friends how Lyall Lupin had just described them. Their revenge on the wizard who thought that werewolves deserved nothing but death would be swift and terrible.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Shortly before Remus Lupin’s fifth birthday, as she slept peacefully in her bed, Fenrir Greyback forced open the girl’s window and attacked her. Lyall reached the bedroom in time to save his daughter’s life, driving Greyback out of the house with a number of powerful curses. However, henceforth, Remus would be a fully fledged werewolf.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Lyall Lupin never forgave himself for the words he had spoken in front of Greyback at the inquiry: ‘soulless, evil, deserving nothing but death’. He had parroted what was the common view of werewolves in his community, but his daughter was what she had always been – loveable and clever – except for that terrible period at the full moon when she suffered an excruciating transformation and became a danger to everyone around her. Lyall kept the truth about the attack, including the identity of the attacker, from his daughter, fearing Remus’s recriminations.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Lyall did all he could to find a cure, but neither potions nor spells could help his daughter. From this time onwards, the family’s lives were dominated by the need to hide Remus’s condition. They uprooted themselves from village to town, leaving the instant that rumours of the girl’s odd behaviour started. Fellow witches and wizards noticed how peaky Remus became as new moon approached, not to mention her monthly disappearances. Remus was not allowed to play with other children, in case she let slip the truth of her condition. In consequence, and in spite of her loving parents, she was a very lonely child.
⠀⠀⠀⠀While Remus was small, her containment during her transformation was not difficult; a locked room and plenty of silencing spells usually sufficed. However, as she grew, so did her wolfish self, and by the time she was ten years old, she was capable of pounding down doors and smashing windows. Ever more powerful spells were needed to contain her, and both Hope and Lyall grew thin with worry and fear. They adored their daughter, but they knew that their community – already beset with fears at the mounting Dark activity around them – would not be lenient on an uncontrolled werewolf. The hopes that they had once had for their daughter seemed in ruins, and Lyall educated Remus at home, certain that she would never be able to set foot in school.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Shortly before Remus’s eleventh birthday, no less a person than Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts, arrived uninvited on the Lupins’ doorstep. Flustered and frightened, Lyall and Hope tried to block his entrance, but somehow, five minutes later, Dumbledore was sitting at the fireside, eating crumpets and playing Gobstones with Remus.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Dumbledore explained to the Lupins that he knew what had happened to their daughter. Greyback had boasted of what he had done and Dumbledore had spies among Dark creatures. However, Dumbledore told the Lupins that he saw no reason why Remus should not come to school, and described the arrangements that he had made to give the girl a safe and secure place for her transformations. Due to the widespread prejudice around werewolves, Dumbledore agreed that for Remus’s own sake her condition should not be broadcast. Once a month, she would leave for a secure and comfortable house in the village of Hogsmeade, guarded by many spells and reached only by an underground passage from the Hogwarts grounds, where she could transform in peace.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Remus’s excitement was beyond anything she had known before. It was the dream of her life to meet other children and have, for the first time, friends and playmates.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Sorted into Gryffindor house, Remus Lupin was swiftly befriended by two cheerful, confident and rebellious children, James/Jamie Potter and Sirius/Celaeno Black. They were attracted by Remus’s quiet sense of humour and a kindness that they valued, even if they did not always possess it themselves. Remus, always the underdog’s friend, was kind to short and rather slow Peter Pettigrew, a fellow Gryffindor, whom James/Jamie and Sirius/Celaeno might not have thought worthy of their attention without Remus’s persuasion. Soon, these four became inseparable.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Remus functioned as the conscience of this group, but it was an occasionally faulty conscience. She did not approve of their relentless bullying of Severus/Severina Snape, but she loved James and Sirius so much, and was so grateful for their acceptance, that she did not always stand up to them as much as she knew she should.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Inevitably, her three best friends soon became curious as to why Remus had to vanish once a month. Convinced by her lonely childhood that her friends would desert her if they knew that she was a werewolf, Remus made up ever more elaborate lies to account for her absences. James/Jamie and Sirius/Celaeno guessed the truth in their second year. To Remus’s astonished gratitude, they not only remained her friends but thought up an ingenious method of easing her monthly isolation. Padfoot, Prongs, and Wormtail have become Animagi to accompany their dear Moony on her transformations, but they are also working on a live map of Hogwarts. It functions almost perfectly for now, but there are some small glitches in locations every once and awhile. Remus is certain she’ll have it figured out soon, and then she and her friends will continue to get up to absolutely no good, as they so solemnly swear. While the staff made Remus the Gryffindor Prefect last year in hopes that it would keep all four of them more in line, it only aided their cause of pranks and shenanigans.

HEAD CANONS FOR REMUS LUPIN
I wasn’t sure where to post these, and since this is the only place with enters on this site, here it is
I will just be continually adding to them as I think of more.⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ As a werewolf, she has heightened senses. It’s part of why she is so good at cooking and baking (the smells always tell her a story), but it also makes her incredibly skittish around loud noises. They are deafening to her sensitive ears.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ She is constantly bruised and covered in endless scars and scratches from all of her transformations. She doesn’t have any noticeable scars on her face (bc I think they would’ve been mentioned in Harry’s description of Remus), but they scatter in connected constellations across the rest of her body.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ She mostly wears warm and cozy oversized sweaters.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ While she only needs glasses to read, she has broken so many pairs that she normally has to settle for squinting her way through. Her vision is not nearly so bad as James/Jamie, and she and Sirius/Celaeno often like to steal their frames and hide them in funny places.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ She tries to be soft and kind, to make up for all of the things she is not when she is a werewolf.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ Her favorite person to sit next to in class is Lily/Linden, as they make silly remarks and puns together the entire time while still caring about the material.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ Sometimes she is in too much pain and just too tired from transforming to go to class. Remi was ahead of the studies when she arrived at Hogwarts because her father had begun teaching her at home, but these days, she spends many hours in the library teaching herself most everything.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ It is both handy and terribly annoying that she is capable of falling asleep absolutely everywhere. No one has told her that she often snores, but Padfoot has a wonderful impression of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ As she is terribly afraid of heights, she hates brooms and playing Quidditch. Don’t get her started on Padfoot’s flying motorcycle. She is going to far away from that for as long as she possibly can.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ She is the queen of face painting for Quidditch matches. Just don’t sass her for taking so long or she will hex it to stay on for days and say something quite embarrassing indeed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ She either reads one book in three hours or three months.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ If something dangerous and against the rules is phrased as “an adventure,” Remus is infinitely more likely to partake in it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ You may think she is sitting in the Common Room quietly reading, but she is secretly studying everyone around her, picking the next victim of their prank or plotting their next great heist.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ She is always getting into the Ravenclaw Common Room because they have the best books and parchment, and she’ll be damned if all she has to do to get it is answer some riddle. It would be a welcome challenge for the door to ask her something actually difficult for once.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ As a prefect last year, she most certainly used her privilege against the professors and staff to cause even more problems.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ϟ She was the first person to buy a subscription to the Quibbler. Xenophilia is the only person Remus trusts to edit her essays, and while they are not close friends like she is with the Marauders, they have an understanding with each other.
