Name: Kenna Kang

Species: Fire mage (well, half fire mage and half human)
Faceclaim: Hoyeon Jung
Appearance: Most people are surprised to learn Kenna’s only 5’5”. Between her personality and general, intimidating aura, she comes off as a lot taller. Her human peers were also convinced her vibrant red hair color came out of a bottle. There were a few time when she was younger that she tried to dye it brown or black, but at the Academy, she’s relieved to learn she shares the color with other fire mages. Oftentimes, the tips of her fingers are dyed black with soot from work on different spells. As for Kenna’s look, it’s very inspired by her father’s work. Her closet contains a mix of inspirations, from classic rock to nineties grunge. Lots of leather, denim, and flannel - all covered in various spikes and patches that she’s sewn on herself.Likes: dark nail polish, Nadia (shh), barbecued food, her father’s band, the fear in people’s eyes when they see her walk into a room, collecting new patches for her jackets, vintage muscle cars, the smell of burning matches, music festivals (and concerts in general), bad horror B-movies, inorganic chemistry and thermodynamics, rigging lighters to produce larger flames, discovering new music, “Carmila” and GirlShipTV and most WLW Youtubers/Youtube shows, making old-fashioned mixtapes
Dislikes: musicals, people who do nothing but complain, bug bites, feeling like she doesn’t belong, when shows kill off queer characters, the beach, getting soot stains on her clothes or straight up burning them, homesickness, people chewing with their mouths open, the story of how she found out about her powers, slow wifi connections, tension headaches, when she has to wear glasses, spiders (they’re creepy, okay?), winter/cold weather, grape-flavored things, repetitive music, conforming in generalPersonality: Kenna can come of as a little…intimidating. And that’s on purpose. Kenna’s found that she doesn’t like most people and she’s perfected her deterrent method in her style of dress and glare. She likes to think of it as something akin to a poison dart frog’s warning colors. Kenna doesn’t speak much, even with those she considers herself close to. When she does, it’s to the point. With her resting face, it would appear that Kenna’s always mad. Not true; she’s only angry most of the time. Like her magic, Kenna’s temper runs hot. She’s never provoked without a reason, but other emotions (such as frustration, with herself and others) can also lead to anger. Without a target, Kenna occasionally takes this out on others. She nearly always feels sorry afterwards, but she’s a little too proud to apologize. Speaking of, Kenna can hold a grudge for years. Her memory is freakishly good, not just when it comes to slights. She’s also got a nonconformist streak a mile long and always questions authority. Now that she’s actually found a place she wants to fit it, she’s finding it harder than ever.
Biography: Kenna’s life has never exactly been normal. According to her father, her mother suddenly appeared in his house one day to give him full custody. The last time he’d seen her, he hadn’t even known she was pregnant; they’d just suddenly broken up one day and that was the end of it. But Jun-Ho Kang quickly fell into the role of father, doing all he could to raise his child. The reason Kenna’s childhood was so unusual has to do with her father’s career and the fact that he’s the bassist in the rock band, Von Brandt. Sure, he also does translation and transcription work online, but he considers the band his main job. And Kenna considers him the coolest guy in the world. Now that he’s older, the band doesn’t really tour much, but they play plenty of gigs in their hometown of Minneapolis, where they’re pretty much local heroes.
Between joining them on the occasional tour and the atmosphere in which she grew up, Kenna became a free-spirited and opinionated young girl. She was bullied a lot when she was younger, but that changed towards the end of elementary school. By then, she’d learned how to turn people back with a single look and started dressing like the members of her father’s rock band. While she didn’t have many friends at school, she could always count on the other two daughters of the band, Nadia Zarouq and Darby McMahon (FC: Adut Aketch and Sara Grace Wallerstedt). Despite being in different schools, they met up often and told each other everything.
Until this past summer. Right around the time school was getting out…something happened. Something Kenna doesn’t want to talk about. Then something even stranger happened; her mother showed up. Now Kenna not only knows who her mother is, but why she disappeared without a word - and being a fire mage isn’t even the half of it. Kenna was transferred into the Academy on a rush where, despite her age, she’s a freshman all over again.
All her life, Kenna’s felt like she never really belonged, and that’s because she didn’t belong in the mortal world. She’s spent her whole life actively rebelling against society and now that she’s in a place where she wants to be accepted, she’s finding it harder than ever. She has a lot of catching up to do, both in class and out. Half the time, it feels like everyone around her is laughing at some joke and she happens to be the punchline. She’s frustrated all the time, and when she’s frustrated- well, at least there’s a fight club for her to burn off all her anger (literally). Then there’s the matter of keeping her parentage secret from her magic friends and her magic secret from her mortal friends. This is about to be one very interesting year.OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Rumors/Romantic Interests: Has a crush on Nadia Zarouq (FC: Adut Aketch), the daughter of another member of her father’s band and her childhood friend. Her feelings appear to be mutual, but not being able to tell Nadia about all this new magic stuff is starting to make things complicated. Well, then there’s the fact that she’s, by heritage, only half fire mage. (Then there’s the fact of just who her mother is in the first place.)

Appearance: She’s not your average Fae. She’s always wearing black, it’s very rare you’ll see her sporting any color. Lots of earrings and cool vintage pieces. Her aesthetic is a cross between grunge and hipster. She has huge dark grey wings that fit her personality and style.
Likes: Loves music, juice boxes, secretly obsessed with 1D only Gwen knows about this, sports, working out, shopping at thrift stores, finding cool vintage artifacts, wearing crop tops, belts, leather, anything and everything dark, watching Gwen wins fights, the feeling she gets right before a big cheer meet, cheering surprisingly
Dislikes: Bitchy annoying people, loud mouth though she has one but doesn’t like to admit it, any bright neon colors, overly preppy cheerleaders, people who try too hard to impress her, any chocolate candy, ribbons, cake, horror movies.. they are utterly cliche, going on double dates or blind dates for that matter, surprises
Personality: Eden can never be serious. She’s always cracking jokes and pulling pranks, mostly on the popular stuck up heros. Though she is also a hero she tends to hang more with the populars of Villain Academy. She’s feisty and has a vicious tongue. Getting in her way is a huge mistake. If you do it’s a mistake you will never make again. Though she is super tough and sassy on the outside, she is actually very sensitive and soft. She has a tough skin that only her closest friends and family can penetrate.
Biography: Co-Captain of the cheer squad and self proclaimed badass, best friends with Gwen, trouble maker for the faeries. She actually can’t stand most of the faeries. Though she does however have a spot on the cheerleading team. Whether the other faeries like to admit it or not she’s an amazing athlete. Eden does actually get along with her fellow faeries though she is a bit.. shall we say off. She loves dark things and loves hanging out with her Villian Academy friends. Her best friend is in fact a witch. Eden’s parents love to joke that she was born as the wrong species and Eden couldn’t agree more. Her differences don’t stop her from being loved by the rest of the school though. She’s actually very popular among both schools. She’s super sassy and loves to play pranks on many of her friends. Some say Eden likes to sneak around with the witches and vampires. Rumor has it that she’s got a little attraction to the dark side, as some would say.Rumors/Romantic Interests: No one has caught her eye yet but if they are going to it will definitely have to be a villain. Innocent hero types don’t do it for her. Though some of the vamps do seem interested. Who knows maybe she’ll have some fun. Though most would consider this less a rumor and more common knowledge, Eden loves to sneak off with her group of villain friends. Their usual hangout is the rooms attached to the secret fight club. Members use these rooms to practice. The son of the owner is one of her friends so they have 24 hour access to all the equipment and rooms.

Biography: Gwen grew up with her twin brother _______ (uh idk I gotta see if anyone wants to plot as her twin first ). They grew up in the suburbs. Mostly causing trouble as they grew up. They both got kicked out of their last high school for causing a very dangerous food fight..yes that’s right a food fight. Even they think it’s ridiculous. It’s not like they did anything major..just a few punches and a lot of food. Their parents thought VA would be a perfect school for them to hone their powers. It’s not laced with all those pesky half evil teachers. Those can be a pain. She was lucky enough to scout Eden sneaking out and joined her. That’s how they became friends, making trouble. You know what they say...the best of friends get into the best of trouble.

Biography: Julia is the second child of Marcus and Claire Einal. Silvana is her elder sister and Casey is her younger sister. Both of her parents are mermaids and therefor she knew to embrace her tail from a young age. Julia wasn't really close to either of her sisters. Silvana wouldn't hurt a fly and Casey usually kept to herself wishing she was a werewolf.
When Julia started Hero High everyone immediately noticed that she was nothing like Silvana at all. Julia joined the swim team and showed school spirit like no other, people wanted to get to know the mischievous sister. Julia loved the attention but hated the rumors (some were just plain nasty and untrue). She got the reputation of having men fall at her feet, and taking advantage of that. Yes julia loved the idea of guys being interested in her but the feeling usually wasn't mutual. She had a fling here and there but all of that stopped when Silvana died of suffocation. Julia was shocked to say the least and her parents acted like they barely cared. Julia things that it was a suicide but she can't know for sure and she can't raise people from the dead...
She wonders if it's possible to ask Cassius Valentine to Raise Silvana from the dead, the way he Raised Jenny (have to plot how she knows about this!). She isn't sure if she wants to know the answer and make her sister a zombie but not knowing can't be worse, right?

- Maybe people who had beef with her before she died? Like ngl jenny's fuckin mean lol so i'm sure there are people who would have at least mildly disliked her when she was alive
- I'm always down for wild rumors about how she's back again, lol
- And for speculations about whether or not she and cass are dating #drama
- She's probably been really bitchy/snarky/dismissive of several characters in the past, so we could potentially plot how they reacted/what they think now that she's a zombie????
- Basically she was the stereotypical Regina George cheerleading captain prom queen-type trope before she died (rich, mean AF, etc) but she's super distant and doesn't say much rn
