Center update bug

  • Design Styles Defined

Hi there! I just want to report a bug you guys may not be aware yet, @admin. This is a screenshot of my iPad in the portrait orientation. As you can tell, there’s nothing outside the frame, still the set was shrunk and pushed to the left corner of the screen. It keeps centered while in the landscape mode though.

I’m on iPad using Safari & iOS latest versions.

    Thank you very much! Cheers!

@jesuisunlapin many people was complaining about "moving items" after opening draft or editing set. This "items movement" was caused by "auto centering" function. Auto-centering function was running every time when user open set/draft or did change window resolution (including change from portrait mode to landscape mode and opposite).

Now this automatic functions has been disabled and every one can tun it by own pressing the "center" button. You will find this button and the left sidebar for desktop Create Tool and under "Save icon" at mobile create tool.

@admin I know where the center button is and I already tried it. That’s not what’s happening here. It’s a bug. The set shrinks and is pushed to the corner or it zooms-in absurdly.

Try to make a set yourself. Create in landscape orientation first, then change the device to portrait, then back to landscape and you’ll understand what I mean. Thanks.

@jesuisunlapin https://gyazo.com/66a275cd7a043606db7cba3ce7e3659f please take a look, as I understand at the last step on this short video "Center" button is not working for you, is that right?
Did you try to touch left side of this button? (just guessing that maybe smth from set is covering that button). We will test in on real device but don't have any available right now

@admin that’s exactly what’s happening. I hit ‘center’ and it zooms-in or shrinks. So every time I change the device orientation, I have to center the set again. It’s not supposed to be like that, right?

  • URSTYLE Team

@jesuisunlapin it's supposed to be like that (but maybe it's a bad idea).
So as I mention before, we turned off that auto - cenetring function, and now users have to do it manually.

@admin If a feature looks like a bug, it’s not a good feature. Every time I change the device orientation, and I do that a lot, I have to center the set again and again. It’s rather annoying.

I know you guys have a hard time to accommodate all the (sometimes absurd) demands of the Polyvore orphans, and I truly appreciate that, but that doesn’t look like a solution.

  • URSTYLE Team

@jesuisunlapin please understand that we turned that off as many of users were complain on that 🙂 this auto-centering function was running at every time you opened / edited set or draft 🙂

but it seems that we should update it and turn on when users change tablet/phone orientation. Please expect a fix in the next days

@admin if the auto-centering was causing the misplacement of items it just needed a little “calibration”, right? People weren’t complaining about the auto-centering, they were complaining about the misplacement.

You don’t need to explain yourself for a business decision and I don’t need to understand that. That’s the way it is.

    Thank you. Cheers!

  • URSTYLE Team

@jesuisunlapin the problem with calibration is that our browsers like to running differently 🙂 so chrome version X is running than version X-1 and totally different than Firefox 😄 so yeach, we were trying that too

@admin less tapping is always better, especially for mobile users.
