I have a question?
-
I've been gone for a week and haven't been on much before that because of my health and I had surgery a little over a week ago. I came back on today and saw Gypsy-jo is leaving reguarding something about Ssense and then I starting doing my notifications and when I clicked on my sets to thank friends for comments I see there are products from Ssense advertised on MY sets that I did not put on my sets and no way for me to take them off. I feel just as Jo does, I hold a deep grudge for Ssense and Polyvore for what they did to us. Being a homebound person they took away a lifeline for me to connect to friends and to create something so that I could escape my pain and sickness. I will not leave my friends here on Urstyle that it took me so long to find again, but I'll be damn if I advertise for that company! Love u all! Hugs, Rhana

So sorry you haven't been feeling well. Hope your recovery is going well. I think -- and of course I could be wrong -- you misunderstand why SSENSE ads are on our sets. They are now a paying customer just like all the other companies who advertise here. See this thread: https://urstyle.com/topic/2409719/question-about-set-items

Thank you FJG for adding the link to explain. @damian @urstyle @admin @urstylehelp Could you please consider taking down the Ssense banners and products on our sets? It pops up in the items used when you open the set, or look at another's set. It is really disturbing to see that logo and as you can see many of us are dealing with raw emotions about the whole Polyvore disaster. We have lost a really good friend today who will not participate on @Urstyle as a result of that logo. We understand this is business but having it in our face is disturbing. Respectfully, Kleasterling

I hope you are feeling stronger and beater each day sweetie. I am home bond also and this is our link to the outside world, but will I'll ignore ssense. Urstyle has given us a new home and I am thankful. Yes it hurt to be dumped at the curb, Funkyjunkygypsy explained why we were not likely told, I understand it is business, mergers, buyouts etc. I will treat ssense just like I ignore ads on T.V. In the bigger scheme of things as much as we hate seeing the logo, we as people really have much bigger worries facing us in the world today. I am going to save my anger and worry for bigger stuff. The biggest snub to give back is indifference and that's what I'm going to do. This site is expensive for urstyle to run, be it for us to tell them how to run the business end and who buys space for advertising, we don't like it of course, but best to move on when we don't like something, you my dear friends are more important to me that holding that grudge enough to leave just because their logo popped up. Blessing you get to feeling much better soon.

@sjlew Well said!

@funkyjunkygypsy I don't reall care if they are a paying customer, if I don't put there item on my set they should not be advertising it in the list of items that are in my set. No other "paying" company does that.

actually theres been sponsered items in sets for a long time, you dont like it just dont give them your traffic to that site but don't vilify @urstyle for an issue you have
-
@familyrppartner I don't believe ANY where in what I said did I vilify @urstyle in what I said! I KNOW there are sponsored items in MY sets, because I MYSELF put them there, HOWEVER I DID NOT put the ITEMS that SSENSE is NOW advertising in OUR SETS and that is what I said. I have a right just as anyone else to voice my disapproval, just as Gypsy Jo did and if you don't like, tough!
-
@rboowybe they're advertising in mine too but im not all that upset about it, just making a point to control my actions in not clicking them, its that simple.
-
@rboowybe There have been items showing up in my Sets, items I did not use, for some time. As I said in another post, they seem to be divided; falling into a space between the actual items used at the right side of the page. And get this! I clicked on those added advertising links and they go nowhere, LOL!
SSENCE really isn't the bad guy. (Read my detailed reply found here: https://urstyle.com/topic/2409719/question-about-set-items/16) We do not know what conditions they, and Polyvore, were legally obligated to follow during the transaction.
Thirdly, @Beverly found that Ad Blocker from Google works to keep them off the page, so to speak.
-
@familyrppartner It's not about clicking the item, it's about Ssense using our sets to advertise their products, if you put your sets on Facebook, Pinterest or any other social media account Ssense gets free advertisement. After ssense shut down polyvore they used one of my sets in an ad, I'm sure they used many of our sets without our permission. I'm just sick of companies and people in power getting away with whatever they want.

@funkyjunkygypsy Thank u sweetie!

Hello @rboowybe , no SSENSE is not getting any free advertisements or they are not using your sets to be promoted. We (URSTYLE) are testing this ads and even SSENSE don't know about it. Soon (next days) this ads will be replaced with other retailer. We don't earn on it yet, but just testing possibilities to keep URSTYLE alive (it cost us about 1.5k USD monthly (servers) and next 5k USD development), so please imagine how much money we spent by the last year to build this place.
