PLACE FOR SUGGESTIONS

  • Velvet Night | goth alternative dark witchy vintage

Something really needs to be done with clipping items that are apparently too small. I can't clip half-2/3 of the things I want to because they're 'too small'. It makes it really difficult to add anything, because even if you try to find a different source for the image, it's usually the same one.

  • Design Styles Defined

@URSTYLE @admin the browser back buttons (I tested all of them) don’t return the user to the same place on the page that the user left. It would be really great if the back button returned to the same position on the previous (original) page. What happens now, instead, is that it takes us back to the top, so we have to scroll down to where we were to continue checking the rest of the page. I believe you can do that by using session storage. Thank you very much!

  • I wish there was an easy way to make backup of both the entire profile and separate parts of it. I want to back up my items especially.

  • Top Sets

Hello. I was wondering if there is a chance that people who won any place in any contest would get a trophy as we had on Polyvore. Also, it would be good to see what contests we won as we had on Polyvore. It's just a suggestion.

As to the comment section - I noticed that it shows a specific number of comments that people left on your sets. For example, if you have 63 comments it shows only 45 of them... Maybe it's just a glitch, don't know.
Also, it would be great if people could like comments.

Editing sets. When I go to edit my sets (I often do this) I notice that items change their positions and I need some time to put them in that place that they were used to be... Also, when you need to edit only title or description, you need to edit the entire set, which is not good because the positions of the items can change.

Tagging people. When you reply to someone (or also tag someone) that person can't see that because the notifications don't show that.

P.S. thank you, the Urstyle team, for everything you do for us ♥

  • @octoburfrost I am not totally certain of this, but I think it is out of URSTYLE's control to allow clipping of "Items too small". It most probably is a method the source site has determined to avert people from clipping items into sites such as URSTYLE, because they don't want their products or items to be used this way. I know it's frustrating, believe me, I've run into it many times too!😕

-Saving edited items when creating set ,instead of doing that every time
-Our own timeline on the front page so we can actually see sets from people that we follow.
Right now we need to do that manually which takes a lot of time to do that, also sometimes I forget some profiles.
Now I don't see the purpose of following people when I can't see what they are creating 🙂
-Fixing the problem with size of our sets

  • ᴋᴘᴏᴘ ᴍɪʟᴋ ᴄʟᴜʙ

Could you make it so we get to choose which sets go into our groups?! As a group creator myself, not all my sets apply to the type of group so it looks half-assed and non-commital :((

  • @asia-12 agree 100% with the trophies for contests like on Polyvore!

  • Decor Amour

It would be helpful if we could search for our collections by name when creating sets. Thank you for considering my suggestion.

  • @admin I'm not sure how to word this but when I am creating a set and someone is liking my sets at the same time I keep getting the pop-up message to leave the page. It also happens when I'm clipping and someone likes my sets at the same time. Instead of the clipped item, I see my set. Also, the youtube button at the bottom of the screen: Can it be moved? I'm sure others have posted this but I just wanted to add it. Thank you so much

  • Style File

@arjanadesign Hi. I've been mentioning this for a while in the community comments. Admin did finally add an option in our settings to "turn off" likes notifications (thank you admin) BUT if you do that and try to go into the see all notifications option you will not be able to see anyone who has likes your sets. You will still get the totals in yours hearts but you won't have a way to ever see who liked your sets. On PV we could turn off likes notifications but still be able to see them if we went into see all. Maybe this will be addressed further in the future. @admin

  • Poetry In Motion (Art Group)

@admin Hi Admin, I have only recently become a moderator of a group, so this may well have been suggested before .... anyway, is it possible please that when a contest is being created you can use your Urstyle set instead of having to download set and then upload set again? Or am I doing this wrong @vn1ta Many thanks Ollie

  • Magazine Look

@ollie Hey dear 🙂 If I understood you well, you wanted to choose from your sets and set up one of them as a contest "Background image" (like we did on Polyvore before). However, (for now) it's only possible to choose a file from your computer and set it up as contest background.
This means that you should either find an image on the Internet or create it yourself (e.g. in Photoshop), or go to your Urstyle profile and download the set image in order to set it up as a contest background.
In order to download set image, just open the set you want as a background, right click on it , "Save the image as" and then "Save" this to your computer - I prefer to place temporary downloads on desktop in order to find them more easily, so I recommend this to you too. 🙂 Have a good day ♥

  • Poetry In Motion (Art Group)

@vn1ta Thanks Anita, that is what I have been doing, I just thought I may be doing it wrong. I will leave my suggestion as is. Appreciate your time, thanks Ollie

  • Hi @admin,

It seems to have been a while since we've seen you. Can we get an update from you on how things are going in general with URStyle and the general well-being of the site, and perhaps how things might be going with some of the suggestions that have been posted here?

We all are so grateful to you for this site, and we mention that to you often so that you understand just how much it means to us to have a place to create and play and be with each other again, but there is also the side of us, that as artists, wants what it wants in order to create. This can be frustrating.

Then there's the issues that crop up that remind us of what we saw on Polyvore, where fashion was uppermost, but art never really got much of a mention until later. We understood, and still understand, that fashion sells, and that business is what holds up a site. We also understand that art can sell, too, and it can draw in customers. It's certainly something to give some thought to.

We know that this is all a lot of work. We appreciate all of the work that has happened so very quickly and on our behalf. Thank you for our new home, and our new playground, and for some of us, for our new saving grace. This is not just a place to create, but a necessity for our soul. For you, business, for us - life, creation, nourishment, fulfillment.

    Now for my suggestions:

    1. There is an issue with notifications. I do not receive them for replies to my comments on sets, ever. I do not receive the title of the set when getting a notification for a comment on one of my pieces. My notifications get cut off (on my computer screen), and sometimes I have so many it isn't possible to access them all, which means I lose some. Is this is any way fixable? If not, can it at least be fixed for the set comments?
    2. There is an odd cross-over between what I can do with my items between my organizer and my collections. It would work much better if the collections were all the same as in my organizer, alphabetized and in order. Is it possible to do that? Then I could keep them "cleaned up" and avoid doubling up on items and get rid of things I no longer want without going back and forth. What I refer to here is mostly just alphabetizing.
    3. In the contest forum, once the winners have been marked, could the set place settings be rearranged to have the winners at the top of the page, in order, so that people may go and comment to congratulate them? (Starting at the top left, put first place winner, then second place winner, then third, etc....) Otherwise you have to search through the entire board of entries to find the winners and chance missing one.
    4. Lately I foresaw the possible need for you to have a committee of Group Moderators who could handle some of the disagreements that occasionally pop up here, and who could also act as go-betweens for you and the members of the site. It's something that might help you.
    5. It was also mentioned lately that a Code of Conduct and a Code of Content would be a good idea to have and have posted permanently somewhere on this site. It's also something to consider. The committee suggested could help with that as well.
    6. As mentioned above, the browser back buttons return one to the very beginning of whatever page you were on, and you have to start all over again. This can be very frustrating if you've gotten a long way into a page of "Get Inspired", for instance. Eventually you just get tired of it and stop. This means I could be missing out on some great new artist just because I got tired of scrolling...and scrolling...and scrolling.

That's all I have, thankfully, because everything else has been mentioned above on this page. I am a little concerned that none of this seems to have been addressed, even with a "we're working on it!" message, though. You all still okay in there? 🙂

  • Twisted Gypsies

@gypsy-jo Well said and I second all of it.

You asked about Winning Sets: In the contest forum, once the winners have been marked, could the set place settings be rearranged to have the winners at the top of the page, in order, so that people may go and comment to congratulate them? (Starting at the top left, put first place winner, then second place winner, then third, etc....) Otherwise you have to search through the entire board of entries to find the winners and chance missing one.

When you click on a contest that has been finished and see all the entries, look just above that and you'll see a link that says "WINNERS". It is another page, arranged exactly as you want it to be. Yay!

One down... More to go! 😀

  • @funkyjunkygypsy Thank you so much, that will make things much easier! Things may be right in front of our face, but it's still hard to see it all! One less thing, though, to try and work through....

  • Here are some suggestions that I have:

    Item Organizer

    • I liked the way it was on polyvore: you could "tag" items for yourself (for making sets) and then you could create collections. I'd like to make some collections that I won't be needing for the set making but they'd clog up the "my collection" site where I choose from collections to use items for my set (hope this makes sense)

    • It would be great if the description of the item was in the organizer. When I hover over it, it just says "unassigned" or something like that. The pics in the organizer are too small and sometimes I can't tell whether somethings a short or a skirt - I'd really need that for the making of sets though.

    Set Creating

    • Some colours (like there where on polyvore) would be great. Especially if we could make them "transparent"

    • If I'm creating a set I usually use my collections where I sorted my items. If I leave one collection I'm right back at the first page. If you have a lot of collections you need to go through a bunch of pages to find the collection you need. A drop down menu (again, like on polyvore) would be great so I can jump from collection to collection.

    What do you guys think?
Do you miss some other things from polyvore on here?

  • There is a "Terms of Service" on the site already. Click the left bars next to URSTYLE.

  • Design Styles Defined

@teresamargit the ‘shapes’ tool in the ‘embellishments’ area of the editor (‘create’ page) allows you to pick different shapes and change their colors and opacity.
