Locked out of group

I made a group, then accidentally left the group, and I cannot rejoin it.. When I tried to make a new group with the same name, I was unable to and got an error message that said “This group already exists”.
How can this be resolved?

Also, I think it would be a useful feature to be able to edit the name of a group.
