Biography:
Emily grew up in a rough and tumble kind of house with four brothers and parents that were too busy to really pay attention to anyone other than themselves. As a child she ran around the city of Boston jumping in rain puddles and eating candy bars for dinner. Emily was far from being a proper young lady in her very middle class neighborhood. It wasn’t until she met her childhood best friend Hannah that she finally mellowed out and matured just enough for teachers and neighbors to stop their snarky comments about her wild long hair and rude table manners. The whispers about her negligent parents seem to vanish when Emily started to hang out with Hannah and she stopped acting like her ferrell brothers.
When it came time for the girls to graduate high school and head to their respective universities they promised to talk every week and make a point to hang out whenever they were in the same city, but like many other high school friendships time and life took its toll and they slowly drifted apart. No dramatic fall out, no tears, no cold shoulders, just busy uni schedules and jobs taking over precious free time.
Emily stayed in their home city of Boston and that’s where she likes to be, especially now with her father passing on and her mother starting ail. Ironically Emily now cares for her mother they way she almost wishes her mother cared for her. Between work and her mom, Emily’s only fun is happy hour at the bar at the end of her street. Her current friendships and relationships have currently started to feel hollow and superficial and there has been a new stirring in Emily’s gut that perhaps she needs an adventure to stifle this new restlessness. Aphrodite Lane grew up on the Upper East Side of New York. Her parents raised her from a young age in pageants. She’s always been on a stage sharing her show-stopping smile. She’s been a winner since age 10.
At the age of 12, she was scouted by Model Exchange, the biggest modeling agency in New York. Her career as a model took off. She starred in many ad campaigns and fashion shows. As soon as her career took off her parents moved to the east coast to get her more recognition.
She never really had contact with her aunt and uncle (or her cousin for that matter). Her parents think it’s time for her to get a reality check. She has gotten way out of hand. Here's my plotting set, I promise to come up with ideas asap and also comment on your ideas as soon as possible. I'm gonna be away July 12-16, but I think I might be able to sneak in a few things. ALSO DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE ITEM SHIFT BECAUSE I AM FUMING.
BASIC INFORMATION
Likes: cold brews all year round, being busy all the time, waking up early to reply to emails, a good drink (or maybe three), feeling purposeful, feeling wanted, boys and girls the same way, the korean seven step skincare routine, buying new books she might not be able to read in a whole year, online shopping while commuting, the art in berlin and the nightlife in Brooklyn, fancy lingerie, underground semi-dodgy coffee shops, being a ‘nasty woman’, never ever turning the other cheek.Dislikes: having to wear many layers of clothes, ‘ugh do you even like anything that is not super obscure??’, airbnbs that do not accept pets, guys who want to be exclusive right away, not wanting to be exclusive right away, not knowing what exactly it is that she wants, ‘you surely must be working out so much to be so fit’, ‘do all chinese women look young forever?’, people reading too much into her chinese v. western names, being honked at / catcalled, being told to keep her mouth shut.
Personality: If you ever wondered what the human version of a summer thunderstorm would be, Stephanie is your girl. There’s no way you could ever predict her mood, but be sure whichever it is it will be in full force and all of a sudden and will likely change shortly. Similarly, her love life is just as unpredictable, and even though there are a few craving for stability, it’s just not something she’s ready to give just yet. Out of selfishness, maybe, her idea of freedom leaving little space for anyone else beside herself, or maybe out of habit, seeing as the Zhaos have never really had a stable home for more than a mandate. Stephanie’s not the most popular girl, but not because of her mood swings; it’s her overachieving career-first attitude that has proven to push people away most of the time, words like ‘cold’ or ‘individualist’ being thrown at her on the daily. But aside from that half of the truth, the other half shows a generally sociable person, who’ll be the first to say yes to a party, and if enough effort is put into it, you’ll probably have her come to your apartment at midnight with ice cream and tissues when you’re having a crisis.

hi hello hey, i've been away for a bit and missed out on plotting so i thought i'd cheat with this in hopes i'll be able to catch up
P L O T T I N G - I D E A S: here are a few things I thought might be going on among the girls, if any of these sounds good to you let me know (you can either message me or comment here
(1) Someone who just doesn't get why Stephanie has to be there - I mean, if they're gonna throw it all the way back to where it all started, why isn't it just the core five? Essentially this person has a hard time adapting to people coming into the group of friends from the outside and trying to fit in.
(2) Someone who'll figure out that Stephanie isn't on the phone all the time just for work - maybe they catch her being affectionate with someone, or making a face at a text she's received, anything. This person will probably be intrigued by what's going on and will try to figure out who her special someone is. ALSO, this person may or may not be conflicted if Stephanie ends up dancing one night with a random local.
(3) Someone who is the complete opposite of (1) - maybe they're also newer to the group, maybe they also have a hard time adjusting to such a close knit group, or maybe even one of the core five excited to meet a new member of Hannah's extended family. This person will be very open towards getting to know Stephanie and giving her a chance, even if she's not ready to open up to this person as soon as them.
(4) Someone who gets Stephanie - maybe they connect based on their very busy schedules, or maybe they're both a mess romantically, or maybe even something completely different. This person just intellectually connects with Stephanie to a point where they might actually be real friends after the wedding and all.
(5) Someone who's curious about the mystery guy in Hannah's life and is trying to squeeze as much information as humanly possible from Stephanie. This person can either do it in a gossipy way or just a very aggressively curious manner, it's up to you, they're basically just super intrigued and figure since Stephanie is his sister, she sure will spill all the tea on demand.

Hannah is the only person Mer knows in the group, so we need to figure out when and how they met.
Also, there’s Liam. I was thinking about Mer organising a party or something for Hannah because she was left heartbroken (again) and she invited some people including Liam; that could be how Hannah and Liam met.
Our girls are extremely close and what Meredith has with Hannah is the first real friendship (besides William) she has ever had. Whenever Hannah needs it, Mer helps her financially, it’s not a big deal at all for her because she knows that Hannah isn’t her friend because she’s rich.
She is happy Hannah found someone like William because he’s a great guy, but that’s the problem: she preferred Hannah to find someone like William, not the actual William. It’s all so bittersweet because she’s truly happy for Hannah, but she can’t ignore that little stinging pain inside her chest.Elizabeth Gurusky - @agentdanascully

( @lecoupdefoudre )I see Hannah and Aphrodite not being close. They met once and that was when they were little. Ironically, it was at their Aunt Molly’s wedding. They don’t even remember the wedding much less anything more than the fact that they are cousins. I feel like Hannah would be uneasy having Aphrodite at her wedding and other events. Mostly because she’s basically a stranger, but those tabloid covers of her are definitely in her mind. I can see them tiptoeing around each other and slowly warming up to each other. Maybe even so much so that Hannah catches a glimpse of who Aphrodite really is.
