    Josephine W (Open)
Was Lucy’s roommate and tagged along that night
    Went to UNC-Chapel Hill
Got high for the first time that night and her memory of it is still fuzzy
    Writes Young adult novels
Recently engaged to someone she met a month ago
    Lives in Wilmington North Carolina

    . . .

    JOSEPHINE S. WHITELEY
    Full Name: Josephine Christina Suarez-Whiteley
Nickname: Jojo, J.C. (the Penny's part was optional), Josey (how she wanted to be called during her middle school and high school days - eventually dropped it the second she went to college) Jojo S. White (her pen name)
    Age: 17/32
    Birthday: February 23rd

Likes: (2003) hard candy, teen dramas, young adult novels (her favorite was Gossip Girl), V-neck sweaters, pastries, her family, Thanksgiving spent in Hawaii or Bora Bora, travelling, trying out new food, reading, peace and quiet, writing, the occasional attention from boys, getting good grades, making her mom proud, shopping, cherry flavored chapstick. (2018) her books making the best seller list, getting good reviews, nude lipstick, suspense thriller novels, one-night stands, red wine, polka dots, dirty martinis, living alone, her cat, peace and quiet, shopping, making her mom proud, spending Christmas in Cuba, comfortable shoes, bathtubs.
Dislikes: (2003) peer pressure, being told to smile more, disappointing her mom (this almost never happened but the fear always lingered), elevators, people that called her mom a gold digger, black eye liner, greasy hair, sleeping in, wrinkled clothing, period dramas, cold weather (2018) young adult novels like Gossip Girl, V-neck sweaters, smudged mascara, hangovers, romantic gestures, talking about that night or even thinking about it, weed (the sole smell of it as well), impulsive people, negative reviews (she knows that is bound to happen and they motivate her to write better, but it still hurts), big cities, hard candy, anti-smoking ads (yeah it's bad but how else is she going to deal with stress?)

    2003 Faceclaim: Blanca Padilla
2018 faceclaim: Penelope Cruz circa when she was in her late 20s, early 30s

Personality: (2003) Reclusive and super introverted. The only friends she had were the ones from her writing/book club. Incredibly awkward when it came to interactions, but at the same time proved to be an ambitious and hard-working student. Enjoyed the finer things in life, but never became a snob like the rest of her privileged peers. Had a tendency to day dream and have conversations with the characters she created. Secretly wanted to fit in, but really enjoyed the whole not like the other girls persona she had going on for her. Terrible flirt and an even terrible drinker. She was known for being quite uptight and calculating, despite being a sobbing, emotional mess at most times. (2018) Despite still strongly holding on to her social anxiety, Josephine has managed to find several loopholes during the past years. For example, red wine makes her charming and chatty. Dirty martinis make her flirty and irresistible and so on and so on. She can talk for days when it comes to her books - is incredibly passionate when it comes to her profession and still maintains that drive and ambition she had as a teenager. Has slight commitment issues, mainly due to her fear of having her heart broken the same way it was eight years ago. A loyal friend, but has tendencies to be selfish at times, especially when it comes to her profession and personal interests.

    Bio:
Josey S. Whiteley was a quiet and reserved teenager. She enjoyed spending time alone with her laptop and thoughts and fictional characters, while the rest of her peers were off to great reckless adventures doing god knows what. It's safe to say that Josey wasn't used to it all - the glitz and glamour and the gorgeous sweaters that weren't itchy and the plethora of hair products and the warm beds.
Growing up poor and then having her mother marry into a rich family, was a bit of a culture shock and it took a while for her to get used to all the benefits. At the age of 12, she moved from from a tiny one bedroom apartment in Bronx to a large fourteen bedroom mansion in the heart of North Carolina. Her new step-father was as rich as a rich man can be - an oil tycoon of sorts with houses in Texas and California and his own private winery. He had lost his wife ten years prior his marriage with Josey's mom and had spent the following decade raising his three children on his own.
Judging from the books she read about rich people, Josey was sure that her new siblings would treat her like a piece of garbage but surprisingly they quickly accepted her as their own. Maybe because they were all well into their late teens and early twenties and over the whole phase where they are bitter about their father's new found love and happiness.
From attending a public school that could barely afford books, Josey suddenly found herself attending a prestigious boarding school, the same one her step sisters attended before her and all had great memories from. Sure, Josey was a bit sad that she would attend a boarding school, it was the first time that she would be away from her mother, but she was near by and was allowed to go visit her family on weekends.
Josey's quiet demeanor and keep it to herself personality, gained her a reputation of a recluse among her peers - her roommate, Lucy Cotter, although not exactly the worst person in the world, spread several rumors about her after one particular night that completely isolated Josey from her peers.
It was obvious that Lucy regretted running her mouth, because she invited Josey to celebrate their graduation with her and her group of friends. And although Josey planned on spending the night finishing up her latest novel, for some strange reason she accepted the offer and decided to embark on a brand new adventure and make some of those much needed high school memories.
The rest of the night is a blur even after all these years. Josephine has no idea why she even agreed on smoking that night - she never smoked and yet for the sake of high school memories she loosened up and did all the things she never did.
Present day Josey goes by her full name. She still lives in North Carolina, in a two bedroom apartment that she bought and decorated herself with the money she made writing the books she wished she could read as a teenager. She's a lot better at socializing than she was during her high school days - she has her therapist to thank that and the occasional glass of wine she indulges during all those parties.
Lately her love life has been in quite a pickle, while the rest of her family thinks she's making one of her most impulsive decisions by marrying a man she's met barely a month ago, Josephine knows that the sole reason for that is to help the same man secure that green card so he can stay and do whatever in the US. All whilst being involved with someone else - someone who knows her inside out.
Other than her close friends and family, not many people know who Jojo White truly is - all they know is that she writes these amazing suspense thriller novels about rich teens getting their heads cut off. And her latest one was about to sound familiar - a bit too familiar if it wasn't for that strange note left in her mail the same day she was about to sent her finished draft to her editor.

(Please answer questions in your character’s perspective)
    1. What did you really think of Lucy Cotter and that night?
According to Josey, Lucy was an alright roommate, except for that time where she got bored and decided to tell the entire student body president that Josey talked to herself and was missing quite the few marbles. It didn't exactly made Josey resent her roommate, the whole ordeal made her sad because until then she genuinely thought that Lucy liked her and that the two were getting along great. Josey isn't stupid, she knew that the sole reason why she was being invited on that boat was because Lucy felt guilty for saying all that nasty stuff and for the most part Josey had fun. Until she got drunk and high and wasn't able to remember even the part when they were dumping Lucy's cold and lifeless body off the boat.

2.How have you changed since that night?
Josephine decided to drop everything that made her the recluse that she was in her high school days. Yes, she was still awkward at parties and struggling socially, but luckily there were people that accepted and liked her for who she is. She is a writer after all and all artists are a bit strange one way or another. Her relationship with alcohol changed for the better, as well as her love life. Although, what at first were serious relationships, slowly became shorter and shorter until Josephine vowed to be single for the rest of her life.

3.Why is it important for you to resolve this once and for all?
Mainly because she has a reputation to uphold. There's also the part where the last thing she wants to do is disappoint her mother and the rest of her family. Oh, yeah and there's the part where her book is entirely inspired by that gruesome event and the written details might point fingers at her and incriminate her for something she doesn't even remember happening.

    EMILIA CORRINE RIDLEY
    Age: 17/32
    Birthday: 1 July

Likes: her dogs, the frozen hot chocolate from Serendipity 3, going on walks through Central Park, doodling, Renaissance art, ice skating, snow, historical fiction, period pieces, delicate jewelry, sunflowers, theater
Dislikes: secrets, feeling guilty, memories of Lucy, spiders, roller coasters, the guy from the art restoration department who keeps trying to flirt with her, rude taxi drivers, the sight of blood, gun violence, drugs, reality, boats, breaking her routine

    2003 Faceclaim: Gracie Lancaster
    2018 Faceclaim: Martha Hunt

Personality: Back when she was in school, Emilia was that girl that everyone loved. There was no doubt that she’d be popular, as she in fact was, yet there was and to this day still is an inherent sweetness to her that kept her from ending up like the popular girls in all the movies. Instead, she was the girl everyone knew would keep their secrets to the grave. It was just that unfortunate trait that created the woman everyone knows as Emilia today, as her best friend’s secrets led to the depression that colors her world these days. The depression that hardly anyone knows about as her coworkers just see a girl with the determination and stubbornness to get her projects done. She appears to be entirely put-together and responsible, yet if her routine falters, she is prone to falling apart. Something that she’s fought to keep from happening in public because she just doesn’t want anyone to know how broken she is.

Bio: Born and raised in Beaufort, Emilia grew up in a fairly normal household; happily married parents, one brother…and even a built-in best friend in the form of Lucy Cotter. The Ridleys lived next door to the Cotters for what seemed like forever. At least, Emilia can’t remember any time her family didn’t live in that house and Adam can’t say any different. Emilia and Lucy couldn’t have been any different from each other, yet they had become inseparable practically before either of them started school. By the time they’d started St. Mary’s, their positions were well-established.
Both girls attracted attention in their own ways, and Emilia truly blossomed at the school. People realized exactly how much of a sweetheart she was, and it was no surprise when she’d found herself with a boyfriend partway through her sophomore year. The more surprising aspect was that Milo became the one boy who was off-limits in Lucy’s own words. Other girls’ boyfriends were fair game, but Emilia’s was different. Not that Milo would have gone for Lucy anyhow, and Emilia’s relationship was essentially a given thing by the time senior year had rolled around.
Everyone expected him to propose after graduation, even though the two weren’t going to college together. However, one night changed everything. After that night on the boat, Emilia had changed. She’d become quieter, and just as quietly her relationship ended because she hadn’t wanted to drag Milo down with her. He hadn’t been there on the boat, so she didn’t think he deserved to have to deal with the fallout. Even as there was very little fallout to handle at the time. Most of it was actually in her own mind, and she’d set off for Columbia with very little fanfare.
It was supposed to be her and Lucy having fun in New York City, yet that was never to be. Instead, she was facing the big city on her own, and she found that it was easier on her to just focus on her studies rather than anything else. As it was, she’d made a promise to herself not to touch any drugs at all after that night, and she rarely chose to touch alcohol during college either. After graduating with a degree in art history, she went on to pursue her master’s degree in History of Western Art followed by getting a job for the Met in acquisition and adopting a golden retriever she named Artemisia.
Her original plan had been to return home to Beaufort, but things had changed. After the incident, it didn’t seem like home anymore, as she wouldn’t see her best friend out in the front yard anymore and in fact, deep down she felt like she’d let Lucy down by not trying to find out what had truly happened. It was easier to stay in the little loft apartment she’d bought on the edge of Central Park with Artemisia and the peagle she adopted three years ago and named Leo and focus on her career. Relationships were put on the back-burner years ago, and it’s become her reality that she’s alone.

(Please answer questions in your character’s perspective)
What did you really think of Lucy Cotter and that night?
Lucy was my best friend. I know she wasn’t necessarily the best person, but she didn’t deserve what happened to her. We all made mistakes that night and I know I feel like I’ve been paying for it ever since. No matter what, I let her down and I can’t even tell her I’m sorry.
How have you changed since that night?
How haven’t I changed? I lost my best friend and then I lost my boyfriend…I might be successful in my career, but I’ll always have a part of myself missing. The part that Lucy filled, and I won’t make a guy deal with that, with how broken I have been inside since that night.
Why is it important for you to resolve this once and for all?
Maybe I can finally show Lucy I haven’t forgotten about her by finding out what really happened. Maybe if I can do that, I’ll be able to finally move on.

  • @ahlexandra my audition: https://urstyle.com/styles/1734556

i have a few questions about rp'ing on urstyle - tagging members in set descriptions doesn't work so every time someone posts a story, would they post it in a group forum we would make?

and how would members avoid 'godmodding' for lucy? would all the writers add to her or is someone going to write for her past? would truths to her be revealed?

@Followyourbliss sorry i just feel so new to this 🙂

  • @ahlexandra no problem:)
So you will post the story on the forum which I will create or some people post there stories in other places like a website or google doc. Then give us the link.
Next for Lucy I will give facts and make a few sets a long the way since I as the mod knows you killed her but each girl has a part to the story. Each girl knows something about Lucy and that night that you as the author of your character will reveal as the rp progresses. Hope that makes sense

  • These are looking so great thank you for auditioning and i will have my set and info up sometime today 🙂

    Full Name: Diana Megan Blandsberg-Potter
    Age: 16/31
    Birthday:April 18th, 1987
Likes: red, white wine & lots of it, diamond earrings, halo top ice cream, seltzer, biographies, her dog, cold brew, ryan gosling movies, bingeing tv shows, online shopping, fresh cut flowers, heels, board games, rainy days, cooking, Elvis
Dislikes: Bill’s ex-wife & the kids, basically being a housewife, her past, losing, spicy foods, the gym, bees, tackiness, violence in media, other law professors, public transportation, fake smiles, soda, fantasy novels, Disney World, her marriage (most of the time)
    2003 Faceclaim: Angourie Rice
    2018 faceclaim: Jodie Comer

    Personality:
selfish, spoiled, sad, eager to please, competitive, brilliant mind, acts too quickly, the highs are so so high but the lows are concerning, bored, destructive, incredibly charming, used to be a bit of a follower, determined to make things right by herself

    Bio (extend what is provided)
+always the pristine perfect little princess from a wealthy new york family, Diana was never going to let anything ruin her plans for college and a perfect life
+ended up at St. Mary’s her mother’s alma mater which was never part of the plan, she wanted a Manhattan private school and boarding school seemed like she was being punished or sent away for something (it ended up being her parent’s divorce)
+she continued to work hard, she rarely let things distract her and even made a few friends along the way and maybe had a teenage romance but her mind was set on Yale and nothing not even Lucy dying could get in the way of that
+her voice was the loudest at the decision to dump the body and there were no regrets (at least non surface level) until the email appeared
+at yale she studied philosophy before getting accepted into their law school as well & that’s where she met Bill, in her third year he taught as a guest lecturer a comparative law course and Diana loved the material & Bill came along with that too
+never did anything not above board with him until after she graduated; he was mid divorce proceedings and she was promising, beautiful & charmed the pants off all his fellow partners at the practice; they just fit well together and after a long period of dating they entered another long engagement only marrying within the last two years
+she never ended up taking her bar exam since she played a full time role in helping Bill with his move from private practice to a AG job in his home state & now with his potential in getting a federal justiceship is an even bigger move; diana as one of the most selfish people she knew dove hard into someone else’s happiness instead of her own and she’s dying inside; probably explains all the empty bottles of sauvignon blanc when he gets home from work
+swears she’s happy and fine because the idea of being perfect is what is holding everything together; she can always use Bill’s money to open a restaurant or something in the future and then she’ll be fulfilled

    Questions
What did you really think of Lucy Cotter and that night?
Lucy was Lucy, she was both wonderful and annoying as all hell. She was a friend and often encouraged me to do things that were more fun and less school oriented, but at the same time she would flirt with all the boys in town regardless of the other girls. And she was a bitch but I guess at the time no one really saw it that way. And that night was a mistake from Lucy’s bright idea to the later events. That’s all it was a mistake with a tragic ending.

How have you changed since that night?
Many ways, all probably for the better. I’m married and have a law degree and I have everything I could ever have wanted. I’m successful and not some weak little sixteen year old trying to impress the older girls at school. I know what’s best for myself and I don’t let them tell me what to do anymore.

Why is it important for you to resolve this once and for all?
Well obviously I don’t trust the others and my husband can’t have any scandals from my past causing him any problems in the nomination process. This needs to be over and done with, no questions and no uncertainty.

    Full Name Freya Eleanor Triplet
    Age 17/32
    Birthday December, 1
Likes her family, discovering new music, her job, daises, elderflower ice-cream, traveling, reading, autumn, romantic comedies, wrap around porches, dogs
Dislikes being alone, horror movies, insomnia, thinking about the past, cats, black coffee, hot weather, a certain tv show that passed on her as music supervisor ,giraffes ( they scare her), math, sewing
    2003 Faceclaim Victoria Justice
    2018 faceclaim Lindsey Morgan
Personality She is extremely creative and also very smart. She is stubborn and that can get her into trouble. She is quite guarded at first, but after you get to know her she is extremely friendly. She is loyal to friends and family. She is very proud of her accomplishments. She hates failure and never gives up that is why she is finding her break up so hard. She has had insomnia since that night off and on.
Bio Freya grew up in Beaufort and though she went to St. Mary’s she wasn’t a part of the rich clique. She was there on scholarship and her parents were and still are middle class. It never bothered her though. She wasn’t poor but wasn’t rich either.
She was a part of the choir at St. Mary’s and often got the solos. Freya can play guitar, piano, cello, and recently has been learning drums. She always wanted to become a music producer for big names but in her junior year the movie “A walk to remember” came to Beaufort to film. She would often go to the different locations and stand in awe. She would put her headphones on and put music to the scene that was being filmed.
She got early acceptance from Julliard with a full scholarship. She knew she would have to get a job for any extra money so when Lucy found her and asked her to DJ the boat party for five hundred she couldn’t say no. That night, was a blur to Freya, she was completely sober, however when Lucy turned up dead she panicked like the others. She was one of the ones that agreed with Diana. She still has trouble sleeping.
She met Simon Whitmore at Julliard and became best friends with him. He was perfect and Freya knew she was meant to be with him. She had only ever been with one other while she was in high school. She knew Simon was hers. After they graduated they went traveling and seven years ago the romance finally happened. Freya had never been happier she got a job as a music supervisor on a cw show after Greys Anatomy passed on her. Simon moved to Vancouver with her and started a solo career as a singer/songwriter. Everything was great until he proposed. Her throat caught and she couldn’t say yes.
That was a month ago and now she’s a lone and Simon is on tour probably hooking up with groupies. Now she has to go back to Beaufort. The insomnia is back and she has never felt so alone even though she is technically home.

(Please answer questions in your character’s perspective)
What did you really think of Lucy Cotter and that night?
Lucy was the most popular girl at St. Mary’s. She was beautiful and had everything going for her. That night she got wasted and that’s the last I saw of her.
How have you changed since that night?
I am still stubborn and determined. I don’t know honestly. I think Im more stable, everything at 18 seems so tragic, then again my romantic life isn’t stable at all right now. I’m more financially stable that’s for sure.
Why is it important for you to resolve this once and for all?
Closure, maybe I can sleep once it is resolved. I don’t think I can move on fully until this is over.

Full Name: Josephine Grace Ward (Josie; Jo; Writes under the name Grace Ward)
    Age: 17/32
    Birthday: October 29th
Likes: coffee; writing on typewriters; book tours; cookies and cream ice cream; the ocean and sand between her toes; classical music; shoes; summer; dancing in the rain; watching lighting coming in over the ocean; dogs; turtles; cats; pink and white
Dislikes: Being even the slightest bit tipsy; the anniversary of that night; writer’s block; winters; loud rock music; the mountains; deadlines; rats; running out of coffee
    2003: Rosie Tupper
    2018: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Personality: Josephine Ward has always lived a little more in her head then the world around her. This little fact has always made her come across as a little flighty. However, she is has never been close to flighty, just simply making up worlds that for her are bigger then the one she lives in and sometimes much louder. She loves meeting new people, has always been extremely social. She is a pretty OCD type of person, everything in it’s place and order rules. It’s extremely rare that she does anything spur of the moment. Going along with that she doesn’t enjoy feeling out of control, sort of a been there once never again situation. Josephine doesn’t enjoy conflict, she tries to avoid it whenever possible.
Bio: Josephine Ward is the youngest of four, with two older sisters (Alice and Rachel) and an older brother (Seth). Her parents, Lincoln and Sarah Ward, both born and raised in Beaufort, North Carolina. Growing up Josephine’s father was into the politics of their town; serving on the town council on and off for most of her childhood and served as Mayor for her last two years at St. Mary’s. Her mother was an elementary school teacher. She spent her early years chasing after her siblings and being put in pretty dresses so her father could show off his perfect little family, not that it wasn’t perfect it was actually just pretty run of the mill. They argued and had hard times just like all families.

Going to St. Mary’s was Josephine’s idea because one of the English teachers was a good friend of her mother’s and had explained that the school would help her writing, something she’d started doing in middle school. She wasn’t one of the most popular girls but being the social butterfly that she has always been she was never denied access to any fun. When she was roomed with Lucy Cotter those chances came more often. Fifteen years later she sometimes wishes that she had, had more self-control back then. Going to the boat party had seemed like a good idea, a way to expel some of the excitement she’d had about getting into her top choice of college, UNC-Chapel Hill. She’d never gotten high before, so she could have never fully explained to the police or her parents what had happened and that was why she’d sided with Diana. The last thing she ever wanted to do was shame her father and lose the future she’d worked hard for.

A lot of her adult traits stem from that night, her OCD and need to be in control all the time. The one time she did loose control and someone ended up dead, well needless to say it left a mark on her. She went onto college and kept her nose clean. She was still a little social butterfly but parties and drinking and drugs never crossed her path again. She started working on her first novel her senior year of college but didn’t get it published for another four years at the age of twenty-five, after which she bought a cute beach house in Wilmington and continued writing. That was the first in a four book young adult apocalyptic series that she has only in the last year finished. Every once and a while she thinks about that night and knows that if they had done anything different her life would have been extremely different.

While Josephine’s professional life has taken the front seat since she got out of college, she sort of forgot about the romance part of things. She met Alexander Wright at a writing convention in Maine. He was charming and writes historical fiction. Once she let her guard down she fell pretty quick and then the insane thing happened, she found out she was pregnant. When she told Alex he was extremely happy and in his excitement he asked her to marry him. Josephine didn’t even think before shouting out yes. That was three days before she received an email with an attached video of her and the other girls dumping Lucy’s body. Now she’s headed back home instead of celebrating her engagement and future life.

What did you really think of Lucy Cotter and that night?
I liked Lucy; she was a good roommate. We weren’t the best of friends by any means but she was someone that I was close to. That night has always been a dark smug in my memory, I can’t fully remember anything after a certain moment. Being woken up be Emilia’s scream pulled me out of the fog and all I could think about was if asked what had happened I couldn’t actually tell. I would have had to admit to my father that I had been so high that I didn’t know how someone that was a friend had died. I was scared
How have you changed since that night?
I would like to say I haven’t changed except in the normal ways people do as they grow up, but I know that’s not true. I noticed sometime afterwards that I didn’t like not being in control of the world around me. I know that’s because that night I wasn’t in control and Lucy died.
Why is it important for you to resolve this once and for all?
First and foremost I’m going to be a mother, I don’t want to keep this secret to hang over my child’s head. Second I want to know what really happened, I want to remember that night finally.
