Agency housing vs housing allowance - what do you prefer?

I’ve tried both agency-provided housing and taking the housing allowance, and I think it really depends on the assignment. For my first contract, having housing arranged for me was much less stressful because I didn’t know the area at all. Later, I started taking the allowance when I felt more comfortable finding short-term rentals myself.
When comparing options, I came across tlc nursing agency and liked that they provide support with housing along with the usual contract and travel details. My advice is to compare the actual housing costs in the area before deciding — sometimes the allowance works out better, but convenience has value too.

For a first assignment, I’d probably choose agency housing just to have one less thing to worry about. Once you know how travel contracts work, taking the allowance gives you more flexibility.

Definitely check short-term rental prices before making the decision. In some cities the allowance can leave you with extra money, while in expensive areas finding decent housing within budget can be difficult.
