๐Ž๐•๐„๐‘๐•๐ˆ๐„๐–: Polished, melancholic, guileless, sullen, avoidant, thoughtful, ironic, constantly masking, creative, still, sardonic, quick to anger

    ๐…๐ˆ๐๐„๐‘ ๐ƒ๐„๐“๐€๐ˆ๐‹๐’:

โ €โ €โ € โ € Puck hates liars and lying by omission. He used to enjoy a good secret, but now he can't stand them. Why lie when there's already so much of the world that doesn't make sense? Clarity is Lys' favorite quality in other people, especially if they're self-aware enough to acknowledge their faults and secrecies. He tries to live as he preaches, and he's always honest and open about who he is. Even if this is a tad mean.

โ €โ €โ € โ € He wears his emotions on his sleeve, resulting in him being easily read. Despite his sage-like mentality, he struggles to know when people are his true friends and when theyโ€™re liars in disguise (despite hating liars). He pretends he's intuitive, but he isn't. Puck could be seen to be tone-deaf and unwavering when it comes to general niceties. If he's angry, he'll probably continue to stomp around like a toddler even if it's your birthday party. As a result, he tends to veer towards the side of being avoidant, resigning himself to more shallow relationships. On the surface, Puck seems to operate under a thick guise of meaningless snarls of his lip and the falsity of his brow. His eyes, which once used to express all of his disdain, are an equally useful tool, even if his gaze tends to be a tad inaccurate.

โ €โ €โ € โ € Oftentimes, Puck doesn't know when he's offended people (other than when he's made an active choice to do something wrong). If someone brings up a time when he was "acting like a total wanker" (as Lys often responds with a blank, confused expression. He needs people to be direct with him to understand their point, especially if they have a problem with him.

โ €โ €โ € โ € Before his blindness, Puck was light-hearted and could be seen as part of the group that was the life of the party. Hell, he even liked being around his brother then, and the pair used to come up with the silliest dares that entertained their friends. Now, heโ€™s started to look more and more like the depressed version of his mom. He sticks to himself and when he does interact with people, heโ€™s odd and awkward.

โ €โ €โ € โ € Puck, although he has always had his silly side, prefers things neat and tidy. He doesnโ€™t want to come across to people as anything other than in-charge of his life. Heโ€™ll lie if it means people see him as put-together. Even though he can come across as saddened, he is always in an ironed robe or suit with polished cufflinks and Oxfords. While he speaks in a poetic-fashion, often with a twang of sarcasm, he's also known to verbally slice into someone if they move things out of place. However, he'll likely apologize later, either with a gift or a pleading glance.

๐‹๐ˆ๐Š๐„๐’: Doing readings, maintaining his altar and moon rituals, Ophelia talking to his various friends online, sleeping, using an old typewriter for his con-lang project, Joan Didion and Jesmyn Ward, learning a new language, and giving blank stares at people he perceives as vain
๐ƒ๐ˆ๐’๐‹๐ˆ๐Š๐„๐’: Vapidness, useless information, mathematics {ick!}, Ophelia making fun of him for his obsession with the future, not knowing exactly what caused his blindness, a lack of style and flair, people who sell fake crystals online, William fucking Shakespeare, being called Puck by strangers, being stuck inside, people who are afraid of Yelena, the fact that Derby ignores him still, and โ€œOmg! Just like Midsummerโ€™s Night Dream!โ€

๐‡๐Ž๐๐๐ˆ๐„๐’: Working on his constructed language, developing a new DnD campaign, staring into a clear quartz orb in hopes that he'll be able to see the future
๐’๐Š๐ˆ๐‹๐‹๐’: Grammar, bitchiness, German, Russian, Mandarin, Latin, Spanish, French, avoiding people (especially his twin), unnerving people with a single look

๐Œ๐€๐๐๐„๐‘๐ˆ๐’๐Œ๐’: Cold stares, dreamy looks into the distance, biting his lip when bored, sticking pencils behind his ear and forgetting theyโ€™re there, shoving paper backs in his back pockets, constantly checking his watch, and shifting his glasses down on his nose when being judgmental.
๐…๐„๐€๐‘๐’: This is a roundabout way to answer: Once a week, Puck has a nightmare where often and often again, bathed in a blue light, he looks deep into a crystal ball, convinced he'll catch the truth of what lies behind it, when he suddenly cannot see, the orb is gone, and he is stuck in a black abyss he can never escape from. Just his thoughts, over and over again, as he panics.

    ๐Ž๐•๐„๐‘๐•๐ˆ๐„๐–: coming soon!

    ๐…๐ˆ๐๐„๐‘ ๐ƒ๐„๐“๐€๐ˆ๐‹๐’:

โ €โ € The Adventa-Hargreeves weren't always a compact duo, but it feels often as though they have been. The Adventas, a renowned family for their father's engineering career and unsavory criminality, used to be just Walt and his two children: twins, Puck and Derby. Derby Caesar, usually called D.C. for short, and Puck were known as a hell-raising pair, pulling pranks and annoying everyone except their father. He often found their tauntings distasteful, but he could never bring himself to punish them. Their mother's passing weighed heavily on him, and he preferred to foster solely good memories for his rambunctious kids. After all, with money for a nanny and an estate large enough to support a second family, it wasn't difficult to find time and solitude to tuck in and write to his heart's content.

โ €โ € Somehow, Walt Adventa left the house, met a lady at a bar, and married her. That (somewhat unlucky) woman was Leila Hargreeves, a literary publisher. She brought with her an equally formidable fowl named Ophelia. The couple quickly bonded over this fact, due to their single-parenthood and their love of The Bard. This happened to work out for the best, as the trio bonded over their hatred of the man.

โ €โ € Puck and his family have been fortunate, living lives of immense privilege. Their status in town does not go unnoticed, nor does their occupation of Hurlington House, a well-known plot of land and ancient house just on the edge of town that belonged to the Adventa bloodline. Beyond this, life was fairly simple, quiet. Puck, D.C., and Ophelia forged a friendship beyond words, a siblingship. This only made the events to follow all the more heart-breaking for the trio and Leila.

โ €โ € Walt's company, known for designing plastic heat-forming machinery and repairing said machines on-site for McKinley Plastics, fell under fire. The IRS began an audit that ended with handcuffs around Walt's wrists. He had been embezzling, in addition to stealing supplies from McKinley. Scheduled for a three year stint, his final visual to Puck was of him behind a small, plexiglass door-window, right before he was taken back for prisoner intake. That evening, Puck would lose his sight while cleaning out his father's office with D.C.

โ €โ € However, Puck doesn't recall any of the other events that resulted in his injury. His eyes burned, and then when he woke up, he couldn't see. Rather, he could see some, shadows, but his glasses had effectively become useless. Though, that doesn't stop him from wearing them still, almost a year later. When he asked D.C. to explain what happened, he evaded the question, eventually declaring that he hadn't seen what happened. Ophelia, Leila, and the police agreed. Most importantly, McKinley was glad to not have the lawsuit. They chopped his injury up to a fall onto a desk corner, not at fault of McKinley, and that was that. At first, Puck was quick to agree. A fall of that nature wasn't impossible, at least not theoretically. Though, he didn't have any physical markings indicating as such. As the months grew on, as he continued to struggle to be his old self, as D.C. continued to grow colder and colder to him, as he lost all understanding of himself, he grew suspicious. Then, he outright denied that what had happened on paper was reality. Now, Puck spends his time preoccupied by the fabric of time, as though that will reveal what actually happened. Leila had always said, whimsical in tone, that people can sometimes see into the future when they lose their sight. Some sort of transference. While she was joking, discussing a lore idea for an upcoming novel she was working on publishing, the tale stuck with an adolescent Puck and now shaped teenage Puck.
