♡ Before being a trainee, she was a model for a Japanese teen magazine Popteen she was known under the nickname Mi-tan, she also gathered many fans during these times who'd call themselves MiMiNis
♡ Both her parents are well known in Japan, her father is the famous Baseball player Takanashi Kimihiro and her mother is the Musical Prodigy Ichihara Hiyori, who's a worldwide music producer and theater actress. She also has an older sister who is a City Pop singer known as KiKa
♡ She got interested into KPop when she stumbled upon the music video of Red Velvet's Happiness in 2015, she auditioned for multiple companies and passed JYP's Global audition with Lee Hiyori's U-Go-Girl she came in first place and trained in the company for a year and a half
♡ Although, she is known for her introverted and shy nature, Umi has gathered many friendships among her peers for her nice aura and personality. The most notable ones are all Stray Kids members, Jeon Somi, ITZY's Yeji & Ryujin, fromis_9's Lee Chaeyoung, A.C.E's Kim Byeongkwan, KnT's Miyu and Leah and all Star Beam members. She is known as Star Beam's Child because of how well she gets along with the group
♡ Umi has become slightly more comfortable with talking in public after becoming an MC in The Knight Show alongside Star Beam's Saeyoon in early 2021. She has also gotten several MC jobs afterwards
♡ The singer is famously known for her Good Luck as everytime she mentions she's into something or she likes something, she seems to get closer to it. One major example is her mentioning her favorite group was NCT in a show while promoting her debut, even sending them a message at the time, and a few years later, started dating the NCT member Yuta
♡ She's not really interested in rapping but because of All-One's wishes, she's been practicing more often with the help of Hana, Alicia and Tay in order to showcase her improved skills in the upcoming future

☆ She had her first solo photoshoot on the February 2021 issue of Harper's BAZAAR where she stunned with her "Moon Princess" visuals and overall aura in each of the photos released. She was also the featured cover artist and had an interview with the magazine
☆ Umi is the first Cherry Bomb member to release a solo OST song that was meant to be for the sadly postponed/cancelled show Dear M. many fans and non-fans have praised her for her involvement in the lyrics and production as well as her honey vocals showcased in a lovely harmony in Cloud
