    EP 1 Synopsis

The episode was born out of the hate SeuBim received & being compared to other girl groups.

We all know Star Beam & NCT's fairytale like love story but did you know that Star Beam was supposed to be a girl group in collaboration of SM C&C & Woollim Ent?

Star Beam was supposed to be in a subsidary label of SM C&C & Woollim Entertainment but unfortunate events trigger them to dissolve and left the girls (& their current label, MBF Ent) fend for themselves.

While NCT sacrificed their entire normal childhood/adolesence in SM, SeuBim sacrificed their normal summer when they started to train in MBF Academy (Both Star Beam & NCT Johnny were trained in the same set up until they graduated high school). In 2013, SM C&C & Woollim supposed to find an idol group from various music academies in Korea (Of course, MBF kids stood out).

They have a peaceful training until in 2016, Woollim & SM C&C decided to dissolve the merger. So MBF Ent decided to take full responsibility of the girls as they debut in 2017 (and the rest is history). KNetz found out that the bunch of girls who watched White Fox (a predebut team comprised of RV Yeri and former SRGs) in an SM Town concert are actually the SeuBim we all know and love.

After the unmerge, neither SM & Woollim wanted to take SeuBim under their wing (on the SM side, they just debuted Red Velvet & they are about to debut NCT while on the Woollim side, they are about to debut Golden Child since Infinite is about to end their 7 year contract). To make things more intense, MBF Ent bosses hired former SM & Woollim trainers to polish the girls' skills even more.

It's like Star Beam is the unwanted child of a former couple who divorced bitterly but this experience made the group stronger and kinder. SeuBim slowly but surely climbed their way to where they are now despite their own bittersweet predebut journey.

To be honest, no one in SeuBim knew about how and why dissolvement happened until they researched about that subject for this podcast.

For what they know, SeuBim & NCT never acknowledge each other's existence as trainees except Saeyoon & Jaehyun (but eventually learned to respect and love each other). At that time, Saeyoon used to introduced Jaehyun to the members as Yoon-oh, her friend from a dance troupe instead of SM Rookie Jaehyun when the girls spotted SaeJae practicing together.

On the other side, Hoya (former Infinite member) mentored the girls in their predebut. Yujia was in Hoya's dance crew in MNet's "Hit The Stage". Fast forward to 2021, Saeyoon is in Hoya's "Stay With Me" MV

Star Beam is still grateful of their experience because it humbled them and it made them better as a group and as individuals
