Cherry Bomb 600 Sets!

  • A couple of days ago we reached 600 posts! Woohoo! For this little celebration, we'll be going down memory lane and look at some of Cherry Bomb representative looks from each era! I'll include special stages and others and talk about why I think they're so important and representative (as well as take a look at how the styling has advanced through the years since 2018)

P.S. I apologize in advance for the use of April pictures and songs but sadly that was the original inspiration for some of the concepts and songs Cherry Bomb released, I would like to clarify that the ones made from the past will remain the same but Cherry Bomb as a whole will not be using April again in the future in neither of those aspects. I hope you can be understanding and separate the concept/music from the person as our group has no association with any of the issues that have come to light in the recent events. Thank You!

    "The Beginning" Era

    Title Track: Love Court
Song Inspo: What Is Love? (TWICE)
B-Side: Step 2 (Badaboom by WJSN)
    Release Date: September 1st, 2018

This era's representative look has to go to the very first stage of the title track! Love Court has a cute, fun, and bubbly aura and the white tops combined with the black skirts, red accessories and cherry patches make this a look to remember! The look was revamped for a special stage as well this 2021 so you can see how much the girls and the style have changed through the years!

Another look that comes to mind when thinking about this era is the colored outfits with each member's respective color on their fourth show performance. It was one of the first times (if not the very first) we saw every member with a look of the sorts and it has become a staple over the years to have at least one stage with their color for most of the eras.

Even though this era didn't have as many special activities as the ones that came after, one of the biggest highlights was their special MV with (then trainee) Emilia Park for the song "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey in which the girls showcase their melodic vocal skills in lovely Christmas themed outfits.

After their high popularity with their debut song (which earned them a total of 6 trophies), the girl group was also awarded in MAMA 2018 with the "Best New Female Artist of The Year", making them a group to look forward to the following years!

    "Heart" Era

    Title Track: Steal My Heart
    Song Inspo: Bbyong (Saturday)
B-Side: Hey! (This is Me by ELRIS)
    Release Date: January 20th, 2019

This era gave us "teen crush/girl crush" Cherry Bomb for the first time as the bubbly girls showed a more powerful side while still keeping that fun aura and energetic sound that had been present in their previous album. Most of the time, when I think about this era the first thing that comes to my mind is the yellow outfits from their first performance. The look left a very strong impression on fans (myself included) and it was fun to see a new style for the group for the first time.

Another personal favorite look is the pretty red and black outfits that came soon after, even though there are different styles and textures, it all comes together nicely into a powerful and stunning stage!

This era also gave us the partnering with Pocari Sweat that lasted all of the year and even gave us a special mini-concert and meet-and-greet with fans. Their blue denim outfits were both comfortable and suited the group like a glove, showing a refreshing image on stage as they sang their songs along with fans.

One of the most popular (and most performed) b-sides of the group came from this album, as their song "Hey!" left fans impressed with the group's stage aura and talent to maneuver their songs with different concepts with ease.

Nowadays, Cherry Bomb and their seniors Star Beam are known for their very close friendship and good chemistry with one another as they have many friendships and dynamics with one another but at the beginning of 2019 both groups were still getting to know each other so fans were happy to see them cover each other's songs and have a big stage together with the 13 of them for the very first time. Their TMA 2019 stages are often brought up as a reminder of how far both groups have come since then in terms of improvement and friendship

    "One of A Kind" Era

    Title Track: Sunset
Song Inspo: Sunset Dream (Kriesha Chu)
    B-Side: Star (Star by Rothy)
    Release Date: May 1st, 2019
    TORI SOLO DEBUT

Cherry Bomb's beloved center is the first (and only to date) to have a solo career. Her debut track "Sunset" was a gift from her fellow member and leader Pandora and Tori loved the song's energy so much she decided to make it the title track of the album, one of the most interesting looks including a pair of long boots with dangling jewels paired with a long white shirt and high rise shorts. It represents the era really well and the hairstyles and color worn by Tori are fan favorites.

The heartfelt song "Star" written and composed by Tori herself was the very first song she wrote and produce all on her own, reassuring many fans and offering them comfort, which came in many lovely stages of the song, her most popular one being on Music Core, as well as having a whole solo performance during SMA 2020 accompanied by an orchestra and wearing a beautiful dress and tiara.

Her most-streamed performance as a soloist is her final stage, accumulating a total of 3 Million views. The stage not only includes Cherry Bomb's b-side "Hey!" but a special feature of Tay and Pandora who accompany her throughout the stage, being this one of the first times fans saw "Youniverse" in action since their debut. Tori's rainbow dress became a hot topic and even managed to sell out in a matter of hours since the performance's release

    "Frozen Beauty" Era

    alt text

    Title Track: Beauty
    Song Inspo: ME (CLC)
B-Side: Pretty Pretty (Pretty by IZONE)*
    Release Date: June 17th, 2019

Cherry Bomb had already proven their princess-like visuals in a stage of Farewell back in the "Heart" era but they cemented the regal aura after their teasers for Frozen Beauty were revealed to the public, each girl wearing a gown with a red band across. Their beauty and wonderful dresses were trending just a couple of minutes after being posted. Many claim this was the beginning of their elegant era as a whole.

This era was the first time the group attended KCon as 6 in New York (Tori previously attended in Japan) which had an elegant and powerful cover of 2PM's "My House" as the girls had white, black, and golden outfits that suited the song and concept flawlessly.

However, the representative look of the era is the all-beige stage that shows a pretty and powerful Cherry Bomb and it's the look that's most recreated when covering the song. The outfits are flattering and make each girl stand out without taking attention to the song and its message.

Although very similar in meaning, the album's b-side "Pretty Pretty" is reminiscent of the group's energetic songs and colorful concepts as they tell their fans just how pretty they are just by being themselves. The jolly song had many stages but the most widely known is one with pink, blue, yellow, and purple hues as every member gets to shine marvelously with their looks as they show their cuter side.

Youniverse (then, called Dynamite) kept impressing fans when they performed summer queens Sistar's song "Give it to Me" in red and black outfits, showcasing their sexy and powerful aura on stage. This performance is one of the fan's favorites of the trio.

"Clock of Misfortune: Chapter One" Era

Title Track: When We Were Us
    Song Inspo: Beautiful Days (Lovelyz)
    B-Side: Uh-Huh (Cherry by ITZY)
    Release Date: January 14th, 2020

While teasers were still being posted, Cherry Bomb appeared again as six after a long hiatus with a cover of NCT 127's "Cherry Bomb" as the group shows a more intense and powerful performance mostly based on their dance skills and good team dynamics. Their performance and looks were praised by many fans and non-fans alike

The group's second visit to Weekly Idol truly sets them as a fashionable idol as each member is known for their good sense in fashion even when they all have different styles and preferences in their personal looks

"When We Were Us" marks the true beginning of Cherry Bomb's elegant concept as they are seen wearing more delicate dresses and flowery prints as well as accessories that accentuate their beauty and the choreography of the song.

One of their B-sides "Loovey Doovey Loop" oozes with a fun and dynamic presence throughout the song and as seen in previous releases, makes an interesting contrast between the elegant concept from the title track. The outfits have distinctive patterns and textures that match the energy of the song, creating a perfect combination.
