๐Ž๐œ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: Maria did a six-year study at Pania's prestigious school of performing arts from 12 to 18 years of age. It is located in an isolated spot on Palm Malta's cliffside overlooking the ocean. In this inspirational spot, the few students who audition and get into the conservatory spend years studying Flamenco from Romani artists, classical music from the world's greatest living composers, and performing for Pania's worst critics. It was hard work for her feet and fingers. But now Maria has a refined voice, a love for the guitar, and quite the ear for piano composition. She also has a list of instructors she loathes and a long list of admirers.

Before the execution of her parents, Maria was performing with a band across Pania at various barracks and camps for the military.

Born to very conservative but creative parents, Maria was surrounded by academia and the arts, as well as multiple languages. Since diapers, all noted her thirst for knowledge and music. Her family was considered part of the city's untouchable elite. Before Maria was born, her father was married to the daughter of a famed colonel; they were very much in love before she passed from complications of a flu. Seรฑor Rosario soon remarried Maria's mother; his only child of the first marriage, Juan Valรฉrio, always felt more affection from their father as a result.

Maria and her sister, on the other hand, were products of a second marriage that suffered greatly from Seรฑor Rosario's depression and drunkard actions. Everyone in the family was used to violence. He was called to serve in the Pania-Portรบ war when Maria was only 8 - to use one of the many weapons he helped design and perfect that brought him great riches - and the girls never saw him again. They were happy to be left alone with their mother even if she spent her days asleep and often sick. She was a well-liked retired ballerina and favorite cousin to Pania's King Ignacio, so she never had to do a thing.

Juan watched over his sisters while they watched over their mรกma. Then the war against Portรบ never ended, and two years later, Juan went to war when he turned of age. By the time news of their father's execution reached them in Madrid, their mother had already been poisoned by a false nurse; their father was that powerful and hated for what he helped turn the war against king brothers into. Maria and her sister, protected by Pania's militia government, were sent to live on the Palm Malta island. The girls spent many years living in the home of a quiet fisherman that was often not home and his kind wife. While uncomfortable at first, they adapted to their new life and came to see them as grandparents: Josรฉ and Jada.

As a secluded student of music, Maria only spent weekends at home with her sister; she was studying in a dormitory for the rest of her time. This didn't stop her interest in lust. Maria was often curious and therefore taken advantage of by most of her music instructors. Although there was mistreatment, she never thought of their actions as wrong and only disliked their authority in the classroom. For better or for worse, Maria looked up to them, trusted them, and considered these teacher-student relationships a sort-of romance.

She was only 14 when Josรฉ and Jada's son visited and attempted to court her. With some wine, he had his way with her. Then it happened again - a year later, with his son along - and Maria did what she could to successfully keep her preteen sister, Marsella, out of their hands. Only by the time she was out of school and their home could Maria begin to heal from these incidents. She finally realized what she grew accustomed to while staying at the conservatory was wrong.

Then out of the blue, Maria was called from her final semester of studies to a plot of land where her brother Juan was waiting with her sister. They assumed he was also assassinated but instead, returned from duty to serve a more political position in their new home of Palm Malta. The war is still not over, but his success as a naval officer means a brand-new palace for his important status as a bachelor. The aging king of Pania, Ignacio VI, is hoping to arrange all the Rosario children in royal intermarriages, aiming to end the war through a promising future with the next generation of powerful families. It is unclear how this will necessarily work: a large portion of the poorer communities in both countries already loathes the monarchy and their prosperous cousins aren't very different. However, weddings are always a welcome distraction as a break from fighting and work, and of course, more rations.

Juan, affectionately known as Rio, learned what happened when Maria was supposed to be protected. Without her permission, he had Josรฉ and Jada's son beheaded. They have not spoken to the family since. Feeling paranoid of political enemies with his new job, he bought a humble home on the nearby island of Ibiza for his sisters and gifted them revolvers, too. They're ironically a model Seรฑor Rosario designed. The home is a cozy cottage on a quiet mariner's island where the security guards Rio blend in poorly with their fitted garbs.

For the last few months, Maria has been living here composing war songs by order of the king, loathing the day she is called to the family palace for an engagement. Recently she has begun writing letters with a Portรบ suitor, Prince Carlos, and his kindness has given her some hope.

    ๐‹๐Ž๐•๐„ ๐‹๐ˆ๐…๐„:

Although Maria needed the last two years in Ibiza to heal, she sometimes goes sailing with local admirers who wished they were rich enough to marry her. She loves the attention she has gotten from others since she was 14 and her supple breasts came in: with this development, the royal family sent their second cousin on a musical tour as war propaganda. Maria decided the tyrannical orders of her distant relatives called for some rebellion, so she saw this as an opportunity and slept with the first soldier that caught her eye.

Now a lusted after bachelorette, Maria has become something of a myth. Not many royal figures remain in Pania after Portรบ's heavy-handed retaliation. Some saw young Maria perform at their army camp and kept her voice with them, passing along rumors of her after the fact. Cities of Pania, like her hometown of Madrid, now hear stories of a princess lost to sea, her ship sinking to enemy ships while fleeing persecution after the execution of her parents. Maria finds this sensationalized tale flattering. Even in Ibiza, keeping a low profile, the fishermen pass along the words she sings to them on their boats, shopping in their markets, dancing on the beach. Her songs have carried far on the ocean like a kiss of promise.

A prince in Portรบ heard of this woman and suddenly found King Ignacio VI's dowry for the lesser, distant royal appealing. He sent her a love letter.

at her beach cottage in Ibiza:

ย ย ย โ€ข Maria wakes up early, sometimes before the sun to see it rise
ย ย ย โ€ข Breakfast consists of fruit from the local market, and if there aren't any cherries, strawberries, bananas, watermelon, lychee, guava, or mango to snack on, she'll walk to the center for a fresh batch
ย ย ย โ€ข Whether before or after breakfast, a walk on the beach always comes next, and her destination is often the quiet, hidden grotto she bathes in; if Maria is feeling lonely, she'll visit the town's humble spa instead, and if she's feeling sick, she'll douche in the back of her house with a spigot and bucket since she doesn't own a tub
ย ย ย โ€ข An hour or two of swimming, soaking in the ocean or sun like it's a vitamin since it technically is; really, it's the only medicine easily accessible to all in their war-torn country
ย ย ย โ€ข Lunch is always a fresh catch from the mariner most eager to sell his fish to her, grilled over a fire; her family finds this quite barbaric of her, but Maria takes thrill in feeling like she's camping outside; if she's lazy, she'll snack on more fruit or simply skip lunch for more time on the beach
ย ย ย โ€ข Lounging around in the sand isn't without its work, and as anyone can see or hear, Maria is typically humming or singing at all times; after lunch, she takes the new melody or continued composition in her head and writes down the additions she's dreamt up in the last 24 hours
ย ย ย โ€ข Before the sun sets, she sets up a campfire to cook fish she bought earlier for dinner or its iced leftovers, eats at the harbor's canteen, or snacks with neighbors in their yard - she's often invited somewhere since she's the newest resident
ย ย ย โ€ข If she's feeling bored or sociable, you'll find Maria at the most popular bar for Ibiza's mariners where she's promised free drinks and entertaining conversation; she'll typically sing for them if someone has their guitar on hand, too
ย ย ย โ€ข Maria tries to not stay up late but will finish the night writing letters by candlelight or moon bathing if she spent the evening alone

at her brother's palace in Palm Malta:

ย ย ย โ€ข Woken up by one of Rio's four housemaids, Maria is given her mail and has a bath drawn for her, which she often uses to just soak her feet while she reads
ย ย ย โ€ข This is because Maria expects to spend lots of time outside with a basket of breakfast, taking a long walk to the harbor to sit on the seawall with her sister; if she is alone, she'll eat on the patio and tan or tend to the garden
ย ย ย โ€ข At the palace, Maria treats her visit like a holiday, so she'll only spend a max of 2 hours working at the piano composing or, typically, practicing the latest piece she's obsessing over
ย ย ย โ€ข She adores eating lunch in the pool, hopefully in the company of one of her siblings, but if not she begins to write her correspondence between swimming
ย ย ย โ€ข Around now, Maria often naps in one of the palace's open rooms, sea breeze filtering in. If she's surprisingly not tired, she'll play on the piano after a bath, which the staff enjoys while finishing dinner
ย ย ย โ€ข Since Marsella is studying at the nearby art school, an hour or two will be devoted to her sister if she is not at the palace, whether it is taking a horse to her dormitory, cutting flowers in the garden for fresh bouquets, or roaming the city
ย ย ย โ€ข Rio often hosts fellow sailors on leave at night for drinks, if not for dinner, so Maria often entertains with more piano or simply her charm - one of the men is usually a potential suitor
ย ย ย โ€ข She goes to bed late, often writing by candlelight because Palm Malta's more lively seaside atmosphere inspires her, the sounds of laughter and waves in the distance, as here war somehow feels farther awayโ€ฆ

Juan Valรฉrio was a sickly child which is difficult to believe when one meets him. Most were suffering from a strong flu at the time and his mother succumbed quickly. Juan's strong-will saved him - which he tells anyone who will listen is a Rosario characteristic, one he sees in his two younger sisters. This is to say it comes from his father, a man Juan was close with and even briefly fought in the war with on the same military ship until his execution. War and the loss of both of his parents, and later the fatal poisoning of his step-mother, has left Rio with emotional scars he never reveals and a deadly promise to protect what family he is left with. The same could be said about his country. A hollow version of itself, Pania is just barely hanging on after long years of warfare. He can't remember a time where there wasn't great suffering around him.

Physically, Rio has very few scars to show and it is why he quickly got promoted to a higher status. It was his quick wit that saved him from dying carelessly in battle, as well as the respect of his peers old and young alike. His sisters have a once-removed royal tie that got the king's attention. As their guardian, King Ignacio deemed Valรฉrio a marquรฉs, granting him access to spoils of war even his father never dreamt to one day own. He is now Palm Malta's most eligible bachelor. Word of his new status and equally appealing sisters are quickly spreading throughout Pania. Many consider them to be long-lost royal family members. Rio himself is enjoying his new life of luxury, but battles with himself on whether he truly deserves it for filling the ocean with unnecessary spilled blood.

Not much is known about the black sheep of the Rosario siblings. This is, of course, a tactic the three of them have attempted to upkeep for Marsella's own protection. She is a wild card. One day she's a sweet child, the next a drunken slob fraternizing with wartorn sailors. Blending in with the boys is a well-practiced skill of hers. It's also a hobby that could get her killed - or worse, a tragically earned life of torture. For this reason, Mar lives with her older siblings - Maria especially - breathing down her neck. Like her sister, Marsella is flirty and uses her charms to her advantage.

However, unlike Maria, Marsella has a mean streak and a need for adrenaline-fueled trouble. She's yet to get caught for the petty thefts, fraud, swindling, and public intoxication that often make up her nights. During the day, she's a talented artist who is training with Pania's greats. Becoming an artist-in-residence for the royal family had been a life goal before her family's newfound status. At 16, she has recently gained royal patronage and struggles with not knowing if she earned it for her literal blood or if it was the sweat of hard work. Her classmates like to remind her of the former privileged fact. When she isn't on a bender or blacked out in her dormitory in Madrid, she's visiting her siblings in Palm Malta or Ibiza for a breath of fresh air.

Sometimes you can find her zoned out, drawing with charcoal to her elbows in some sort of stupor of madness as she draws out the demons in her mind. No one knows of the new career goals she's set for herself. One involves infiltrating Portรบ and Pania official channels to see what the hell is really going on between these countries - she wants to use her art to publish the truth and give her people comfort. Even if it means passing out national secrets on the streets. What could go wrong?
