STAR BEAUTERVIEW: Star Beam's Makeup Artists explains the makeup looks for "Flaming Heart" MV (Allure KR)

  • Star Beam is known for their stunning visuals especially during their comebacks. In fact the group is very generous in sharing their beauty know-how to their ByulBis from time to time. For those who follow their journey, their beauty look consists of pops of color, glowy skin, straight and fluffy brows, & fluttery lashes

    FLAMING HEART MAKEUP KEYWORDS

    • Juliet

    • Tears

    • Flame

    • Glow

    • Red vs. Blue

    Blue Summer

In the beach bar scene, the members wore a glossy makeup which is perfect for summer that is effortlessly stunning thanks to the blue eyeliner and inner corner highlight and glossy coral lip (which is unusual for the group who rarely wore cool-toned shades except "Mermaid Princess" era). The inspiration behind this eye makeup is the water motif which is prominent in the 1996 film Romeo + Juliet (which the comeback was based)

    FIERY BEAUTY

Red is a common color mood in the K-pop scene, so the girls put on shades of red in the ballroom scenes and closeup scenes that suits the feel of "Flaming Heart". In the closeup scene, the makeup goes heavier than usual.

    SCREEN SIRENS

In one take, the girls wore polished smokey eye look which perfectly complimented their black and white outfits. They also added gemstone to symbolize the tears (since Romeo & Juliet is a tragedy)

    HONORABLE MENTION: YUJULIET

Taking the role of the heroine in the MV, Yujia the Juliet is nothing less than stunning even in lighter makeup that enhanced her natural beauty during the story scenes but during the funeral scene, there is a blue highlighter in the eyes and a teardrop gem sticker to express the sadness she felt that she can't be with her Romeo. ByulBis on Twitter called this a 'HOW CAN A DEAD BODY CAN STILL BE THIS PRETTY?!' look and some of them took a screenshot to show to a mortician for future reference.

    HONORABLE MENTION: JEONPATRA

With her calculating stare onstage, Jeonah is the perfect member to dress up as the iconic Egyptian queen Cleopatra but toned down which is inspired by a 1960s makeup ad (which promoted the Elizabeth Taylor classic, Cleopatra). Even the makeup was more toned down than expected, it framed Jeonah's icy, cunning beauty well.
