Constantly compared to his rowdier, older brother, it was a breath of fresh air when his professors (and students) realized that the two are like night and day. It was easy to like Regulus, he was considered to be smart, soft spoken and polite. Most of the time he kept to himself, but if somewhere were to ask for his help or come and talk to him, he never turned them down. His family were blood purists and avid supporters of You-Know-Who, but Regulus' prejudice and beliefs hadn't come to light until after he graduated from Hogwarts, so it is no wonder that most of his peers (especially those who weren't pure-blood) stood up for him by claiming he's different.

Regulus had a happy, privileged childhood . . . until his older brother ruined everything. As soon as Sirius was sorted into Gryffindor and began openly defying the pureblood way of life, everyone looked to Reg to be the next blood traitor. After all, the boys had been inseparable as kids. The Black family did anything to ensure it wouldn't happen; they could not allow another disgrace. Though at the cost of living under a microscope, it meant that Regulus suddenly received everything he could ever want. The best magical tutors to ensure he was far above everyone in his year. The newest clothes and inventions. The fastest brooms { not that he even used them often; he's not exactly an adrenaline junkie like some fools }. And his love for Sirius โ that once led him to nearly drowning โ was now safely suffocated by loathing. In fact, his brother's rebellion against the old ways only made Regulus more obsessed with them. His fanatic dedication is perhaps why Voldemort invited him to join the Death Eaters right before his last two years at Hogwarts. Why wouldn't he, considering it had worked out exceptionally well with his cousin Bellatrix. This honor was everything that Regulus had ever dreamed of, but a cloud of darkness has overshadowed his dreams of power and glory lately. It is one thing to have his loyalties questioned . . . and quite another being forced to prove them.
