𝐕𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐄𝐒 ✦ Lily is a visionary- she doesn't take things at face-value but rather sees situations and even people for their possibilites- what they could be- which renders her a highly compassionate and forgiving soul. She expects that people can grow, and more than that, they can flourish. The hallmark of Lily as a friend is that she is an excellent listener with an unselfish agenda. She wants to solve problems, big and small. She wants to help, no matter the cost to herself.
𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐖𝐒 ✦ That being said, she can be aloof- she needs time to recharge herself- usually in some greenery, if at all possible. It's been alleged by her own mind that she can be overly-idealistic. She may over-estimate others' capacity for kindness or understanding- she may, and definitely has, over-estimated certain situations. And, of course, there's the small matter of her volatility. It doesn't happen often, but James swears her hair gets redder during those moments. Her unflinching inability to compromise her beliefs- herself- even if its in her best interest, has always been a point of contention between Lily and authority figures. (Dumbledore definitely underestimates her ability- and that's something she certainly won't stand for!)𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 ✦ No one walks away from her presence without noting Lily's warmth and overt kindness. Her amiability is palpable, but it can be misconstured by those who want to misunderstand her as a façade. She is an indomitable safe haven to her friends, and a lowly upstart to her enemies.

"Lily has a roaring heart of gold that has never let her back down. Whether that means calling people out on their bullshit or putting a bully in their place, her keen sense of right and wrong has guided her well in life. She's never let being a muggleborn give her a sense of insecurity. It was clear from her success in the classroom that she was just as good, if not better, than most of her peers with magic. However, losing her best friend to the Dark proved to be much harder on her than she lets on publicly. Severus was her everything, the foundation of her connection to the wizarding world. And just like that, he saw her how they all did: a filthy mudblood. Watching Snape fall deeper and deeper into Voldemort's clutches broke her. Lily couldn't deny the war to herself any longer. She could only face it head-on. Dumbledore keeps trying to hold her back; a muggleborn on the front lines is practically suicide. But Lily doesn't want to be protected. She wants to fight."
- Lily, at Dumbledore's behest, has been posted in Darby House to surveil a possible Death Eater. She's also been given orders of no-contact. She is only to take notes on the activities of the specific person.
- It is boring and tedious all at once- and as well, Lily just can't overlook the cushiness of the position she's in. [She calls Darby House 'Darby Dream House'- a joke that never lands with her clique because none of them are familiar with popular Muggle toys.] It feels to her like yet another jab at her Muggle-born-ness...which is a sore spot indeed.
- [As a side note: I would really like it if Lily wasn't the only one in the house- I was thinking maybe Alice might be with her. I don't think they would send her out there on her onesie. ^^]
- Lily was just fine with being posted so far from her fiancé- after all, he's only an 'Apparate' away.
- Lily being Lily, it won't be like this much longer- she plans on making contact with the supposed Death Eater in secret to prove to herself that she can be of real use to the Order.

She wants to be of good use! To make her big sister see her as something more than a "freak". And she wants, ultimately, to live in peace with James.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 ✦ Secretly, Lily does fear losing another friend like Severus to Voldemort's putrid ilk. She trembles at the thought of seeing anyone else she cares for follow that Dark path. She's afraid of living in a world that accepts prejudice and fear-mongering as the way of things. On a smaller scale, Lily fears that her sister will never accept her- never speak to her again. She's afraid to accept that Petunia no longer wants anything to do with her- it's not something she will easily accept. After losing Severus, she's not willing to lose that vital connection to a family member (even one so full of hate- because Lily is convinced she can educate her older sister into understanding if she would only give her the damn opportunity ! )- Lily refuses.
𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐒 ✦ Lily's been plagued with realistic nightmares in which she wakes up to find that James is dead beside her- or else, she is with Sirius while he is attempting to explain to her that James has died. She won't speak about the nightmares to anyone- it, in some way, feels like...if she did, they would happen. They would come true.
𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐄𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐌𝐒 ✦ Problem-solving, first and foremost. Absconding into nature if the problem is unsolvable- or yet unsolvable- to clear her head and feel connected to something sweet-smelling and unrelated to her troubles. If all else fails, snuggle Lammy.𝐇𝐎𝐁𝐁𝐈𝐄𝐒 ✦
