[PANN] When Star Beam wore hanboks onstage

  • Since our living princesses, Star Beam, came back with "Flaming Heart", everyday, they served us modern royal looks (this is basically Star Beam's onstage style in a nutshell). But their hanbok-inspired looks in M Countdown became of their most iconic looks. Since haters love to criticize them for being "too westernized" (thanks to their concept inspirations came from American or European movies/TV shows) since debut, this look is a big slap for haters.

Their look fuses East meets West influences both in style and symbolism (bonus that the group is composed of 5 Koreans, 1 American & 1 Chinese plus Ryuna is a Japanese descent hence her name is Japanese)

    DETAILS:

    • Black = Death, Darkness (Let's take note that "Flaming Heart" is inspired by "Romeo & Juliet" which is a tragedy where the titular characters died hence the members look like they're going to the funeral)

    • White = Innocence, Purity (the main female character, Juliet which was portrayed by Yujia in the MV)

    • Red = Capulet's color (since the prologue film came out worn by RyuSooJeonJia) & In Korean culture, it symbolizes solidarity, passion, and pursuit of happiness. It can also mean wrath

    • Blue = Montague's color (ChaeHyoSae) & in Korean culture = Youth (the titular characters died young) & Hope. It also means sadness

    • Please take note that though red and blue was used as the classification of two rival houses, the two colors summarizes the story pretty well

    • Deer (in Yujia's headband) = Innocence, Piety, Devotion, Regeneration/Growth (this also describes Juliet in the story) & Eternity/Immortality (in Korean culture)
