After years of interdependently creating his own tracks and putting them on the internet for everyone in the world to use, Nano Torres decided that it was finally time he gets paid for his own hard work. Having followers and a fast growing fan base that was already well aware of his never ending talents was just not enough. He wanted to see his name in lights and have famous rappers and singers beg to have one of his samples featured in their songs.

Being signed with a label has always been a dream of his. He was already doing some freelance work here and there with various indie labels, but it wasn't it. Nano wanted to taste blood; he wanted the real deal and after producing several songs for one of their signed musicians, Nano knew Dorian Records was what he's been looking for. His gut feeling screamed that the record label in question was the one; that if he manages to sign with them, he'd be more famous than he's ever dreamed of. But there was a problem and it was in him.

Nano might be very well aware just how talented he is. When people compliment him on his abilities as a musician and creator, he doesn't shy away - he grins, gladly accepting the compliments and praise - because, yes, he's a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, talent isn't all that. And his pretty face isn't enough to get him to the place he's supposed to be. He needs a partner. Someone who understands him through and through. Someone as equally as gifted as he is. Someone that will be elevate his talents and vice versa.

Someone like Adele Gaumond.

There's absolutely zero doubt about it, the two of them sound great together. He doesn't know whether it's her voice or his energy, but they just click. And people see it. They saw it. Right there on that tiny ass stage where her presence was supposed to help him avoid making a complete and utter fool of himself. Dorian Records wants them. They want the two of them or they don't want them at all. But there's a problem and it's the following: Nano isn't exactly a team player (the plethora of ex-band members are proof of that) and Adele doesn't want to be a singer.

She's kind enough though. Adele understands just how hard Nano has worked to get to this point. How much he needs this. There's also the part where she can't stop herself from replaying that night over and over again. She's never felt so good. The last time she felt something as similar was when she was still singing in her grandmother's church choir. It was the only time she felt truly seen and now, after what feels like ages people notice her again. Nano noticed her. The weird people from Dorian Records notice her. They tell her she sounds amazing and Adele accepts it. For the first time after felt like years she actually likes and enjoys the praise she's receiving.

It's just for a couple of years - Nano said to her - you can quit whenever you want. They've been doing this for six months now. Writing songs; going back and forth into various studios; talking about the future of their band and their upcoming album. Talks of tours, concerts and interviews are constantly being made. They should overwhelm Adele, shouldn't they? She should be studying, not staying up late with Nano Torres, her roommates' annoying boyfriend, writing songs about falling in love.

But she's way too deep in it. They both are. And something tells Adele that even if she wants to quit, she wouldn't be able to.

What she does mind is when strangers start giving her nicknames.

Undergrad student. (probably pre-med or something serious like that)
Has never fully understood people's obsession for fame, glitz and glamour or shown any interest in show business other than that one brief time she was obsessed with Broadway as a teenager.
Growing up her parents made sure she mastered one sport and one instrument because having one of those skills will help her get college scholarships in the future (they were right, Adele currently attends (UNIVERSITY) on a swimming scholarship).
Just because Adele has never shown interest in pursuing music professionally doesn't mean that she isn't passionate about it. Times and times, she's been told by her music teachers that she has a real talent for it.
Adele uses music as a coping mechanism. When she's sad she writes songs and/or sings to herself. She tends to avoid singing in public - hearing compliments about just how good her voice is unnerves her; she never knows how to react and respond to them.
Has a difficult time being in the center of attention whatsoever. Strongly identifies as being independent and a bit of a loner. Respects and loves her privacy and alone time.

B I O G R A P H Y

Music has been a large part of Nano's life for as long as he can remember. He's never been super talented - not when compared to his oldest sister Julia, who is known for being a music prodigy - but people would be lying if they say that he's been blessed with his parents' genes. Nano bursts with talent, ambition and an insatiable need to make it big. It's what made him become such a talented multi instrumentalist in the first place.
Parents are both respectful musicians that have been part of the Brooklyn Philharmonic for over 2 decades now.
His family still holds hope that his love for electronic, overproduced music is just a phase he will soon get over and return to his classical roots.
Scary business savvy. Calculating, ambitious and a perfectionist.
Doesn't think his voice is commercial enough, so he usually does features with other small or up and coming indie artists.
Has been doing samples and instrumentals for almost three years now. The royalties he gets from all those rap artists going number one are nice, but he desperately hopes he gets to see HIS name light up the Billboard Charts one day.
Slightly obsessed with the idea of making it big and when Nano means big he means Mr. Worldwide big (not Mr. Worldwide as in Pitbull, but he wouldn't mind achieving Pitbull's level of fame at one point in his career).
The reason why he hasn't made any attempts to sign to any record labels so far is because he doesn't think his music will 'pop off' if he's releasing it as a solo artist. In Nano's head, him being part of a duet (preferably with an equally talented girl) will boost his chances at making it big in the music industry.
