✧ 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
{Hugo is non-jokingly referred to as Hannibal by a large amount of the circus, he’s not keen on socialization for fun, although he is quite charming still. Most of his family is convinced he is not the most adept at their trade, better at giving ideas then executing them. Its a constant fight within the Romanov circle. At times Hugo can become quite obsessed with proving his worth. Considered the ‘runt’ of the group despite having a twin, Hugo would often be the brunt of many jokes if it wasn’t for his silver tongue that has a bad habit of hurting feelings. Hugos flawless memory is probably his biggest non-mutation related strength and is constantly asked to be the human alarm clock for a lot of the other Romanovs. His feelings aren’t too easily hurt, and his onstage persona is not far from what his actual personality is. He’s not as easily trusting as other mutants, but he is borderline overconfident in his ability to manipulate humans, which is reasonably well deserved. The slightest bit trigger-happy at times, he is the person to ask that won’t flinch at a gunshot. All Romanovs are homicidal in some fashion, but Hugo’s flair for the dramatic and violent make him a force to be reckoned with once he’s angry. Violent games are all in good fun for Hugo and he’s always first to volunteer.}
✧ 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬
{Within the Romanov family, he’s the unspoken Brains of the Operation, but within the circus itself, Hugo is just the secondary leading man to his older brother. He appears for soundcheck and disappears until show, his sense of humor is that of a dead man. His inclination to talk to most people is barely there, but if engaged, he will bite.}
✧ 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
{Hugo thoroughly believes that if he bides his time and waits patiently, he will be given more control over the circus. The theme that has made the circus so famous? Hugo was responsible for that, he was responsible for many of the things that allow the circus’ level of notoriety. His older brother's level of work compared to his own is practically infinitesimal. Hugo hopes that one day he will be recognized for what he’s done for the circus.}
✧ 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
{Hugo grew up a quiet Mommas boy, his nose always in his books, bullied by his older sibling for his constantly twitching nose. Always with a strawberry lollipop snugly in his mouth, his wire rimmed glasses balanced on the tip of his nose, with his button downs and white gloves, even from a young age, young Hugo was nothing less than a picture perfect Romanov. His mutation developed early and quick, little Hugo would wonder around the circus, tugging on pants legs, asking for donations. He would come back with thousands of dollars, cleaning out wallets and more. His mother wasn’t exactly that happy about her son being a glorified thief, but his mutation would keep him safe, and despite his white hair, if Hugo ever wanted to, he could blend in. Then his voice came along and his sister found her place as well, they trained together for an act based entirely on the two being twins. Contortion, as well as knife throwing and performing came easy to Hugo, but he stayed with his books and found his temporary place in the outdated circus. When he was thirteen the idea for a split act came into play and his mother only encourages it. When she died, a very large piece of Hugo left with her. He was very close to her mom and misses her so very much.}
𝐌 𝐔 𝐓 𝐀 𝐓 𝐈 𝐎 𝐍
✧ 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐬
{Because of his mutation Hugo is quite good at spotting lies and lying on his own, but mostly he excels at selling. Hugo can sell a blind man a mirror and a parched man something to eat. He is in many ways a ruthless, smooth talking business man who doesn’t care whether or not you’ve been scammed. Hugo lives by the motto, “Make his pockets hurt!”}
✧ 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬
{Primarily, Hugo can get a tad bit overconfident, as some humans can resist his manipulation better than others can. He is extremely susceptible to feeling too safe, but he won’t hesitate to defend himself with deadly force. He is a Romanov after all.}
✧ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
{Hugo loves his mutation like Narcissus loves his own reflection. He can blend in with the humans flawlessly if he should choose to, he gets everything he wants and is never told no. As a perfectionist a reliable mutation is very important so feeling that kind of power is nothing short of very validating. Hugo loves feeling the sometimes subtle and other times avalanche of trust from the humans whenever he speaks to them with intent, it gives him joy like you couldn’t imagine.}
