Shy and sweet, Selinie is about 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑒𝑥𝑎𝑐𝑡 𝑜𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢'𝑑 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑎 𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑤𝑜𝑙𝑓 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒. Born in Shenzhen, China to a filthy (nouveau) rich family, Selinie moved with her parents to the United States when she was eleven. Rumor has it that she (𝑎𝑙𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡) 𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑙𝑦 𝑚𝑎𝑢𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑞𝑢𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑏𝑒𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑡ℎ in middle school...though that's impossible, given Selinie's temperament! 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑒𝑡 𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑖𝑑𝑑𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑙, 𝑠ℎ𝑒'𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑟. But she's not standoffish, per se; just very reserved and soft-spoken. Usually, if she doesn't know you or isn't friends with you, she won't initiate a conversation. She's 𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑒, though, so if someone else started talking to her, Selinie would engage them fully.

Selinie likes pretty, delicate things, and genuinely enjoys 𝑝𝑢𝑡𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑐𝑢𝑡𝑒 𝑜𝑢𝑡𝑓𝑖𝑡𝑠. She wears a lot of low heels and long skirts, and wishes that she were brave enough to be more experimental with her makeup. She also tends to gravitate towards other pretty things that she sees outside – flowers, for one, or birds, 𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑎𝑡 𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡. The trees and grass and butterflies just…make the world seem less lonely, to Selinie, who probably spends 90% of her time, well, alone.

After the entire ordeal in middle school, Selinie’s been terrified of coming off as strange or weird, so 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑑. She worked on her accent for more hours than she can count, until her English sounded natural. She’s very 𝑚𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ in her grades, her clothes, her makeup. Selinie likes being organized, and keeps her room very neat. Nothing is ever out of place, and it’s probably safe to say that Selinie is 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑎 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑖𝑠𝑡.

As a student, Selinie is 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑑-𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑖𝑠𝑛’𝑡 𝑎𝑓𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑑𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ‘𝑢𝑛𝑔𝑙𝑎𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑙𝑒𝑔𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘’. Say what you want about the Chinese academic system and rote memorization, but being forced to do hundreds of problems every night ever since she was in elementary school made Selinie very patient with that kind of schoolwork. In addition, she’s afraid of being called on and embarrassed in front of everyone, so she makes sure that she 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑙 beforehand. Beyond Mathletes and the Astronomy Club, Selinie basically has no social life, partially because of the fact that she makes herself spend so much time doing schoolwork and learning things in advance. But, hey, she’s probably within the top 3 students in the sophomore class of { 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃 }. That has to count for something, right?

𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒’𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑎 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑟𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛. She doesn’t like taking risks; she’d rather watch and wait and weigh all her options equally, before making a decision. She doesn’t like going against authority, or causing a fuss, and literally 𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑠 whenever she feels like someone is upset with her. But, Selinie can feel that the 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑙𝑓 that’s been her constant companion ever since she was thirteen doesn’t share any of her fears. Sometimes, when she would normally feel sad, she feels 𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑟𝑦. Sometimes, when she would normally duck her head in embarrassment and wish she could disappear into the ground, she feels the wolf lending her its strength. 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠𝑛’𝑡 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡’𝑠 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑜𝑛; should she be concerned, that the wolf is becoming part of her personality? Probably. But sometimes, when it’s all too much – the stress of school and being basically friendless and wanting to feel 𝑛𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑙 again – she sinks back and lets the wolf take over, for a while. The wolf can see and smell all the wondrous things in the earth, and it’s strangely comforting.

☽ 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 ☾

𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎 𝑤𝑜𝑙𝑓 𝑜𝑟 𝑎 𝑔𝑖𝑟𝑙? In the beginning, Selinie was a girl, because that was what was expected of her. She combed her hair, straightened her skirt, filled out her multiplication tables, said "please" and "thank you", smiled prettily for the adults.

𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒'𝑠 𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑓𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝑟𝑖𝑐ℎ. As soon as Deng Xiaoping allowed foreigners back into China back in the 70's, Selinie's grandpa 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑏𝑖𝑔. He tried cars, and real estate, and hit gold with technology. 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑎'𝑠 𝐵𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝐺𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑠, they called him. Selinie's father eventually took over as CEO. Selinie was expected to be the next heir to the company...if she were a boy, at least.

(𝒜𝓃𝒹 𝒾𝒻 𝒾𝓉 𝓌𝑒𝓇𝑒𝓃'𝓉 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝑒𝓇𝑒𝓌𝑜𝓁𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔. 𝐵𝓊𝓉, 𝓈𝒽𝒽, 𝓌𝑒 𝒹𝑜𝓃'𝓉 𝓉𝒶𝓁𝓀 𝒶𝒷𝑜𝓊𝓉 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉.)

Selinie diligently studied English at the prestigious international boarding schools her parents sent to her in their home city of 𝑆ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑧ℎ𝑒𝑛, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑒𝑐ℎ 𝑐𝑎𝑝𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑎. She did the grammar drills over and over and over, and memorized the vocab lists, and read the textbook from cover-to-cover. Over and over and over again.

𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒'𝑠 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝑡𝑜 𝐴𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑎 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛. She went to an expensive private boarding school for middle school, where she was the only girl who wasn't blonde-haired and blue-eyed. One of her classmates, 𝐴𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑎, made fun of her accent. Among other things. Selinie didn't know what "slanty-eyed bitch" was supposed to mean, only that it was (probably?) bad. And so, ostracized by her wannabe Southern belle classmates, Selinie found herself feeling...very sad, and very lonely.

𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝑎 𝑤𝑜𝑙𝑓, 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑟𝑡𝑒𝑒𝑛. Her parents weren't home. The housekeeper had gone to sleep. Selinie doesn't remember much of that night, except for that she woke up naked, next to a broken window, and the moon was full. 𝑆ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑑 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑎 𝑏𝑎𝑑 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑚. And then it happened again.

𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎 𝑤𝑜𝑙𝑓 𝑜𝑟 𝑎 𝑔𝑖𝑟𝑙? Every time Amanda made fun of her, 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑙𝑓 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑟. Demanding to be let out, to bare its fangs and claw out Amanda's throat. And that, more than anything, scared her.

𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎 𝑤𝑜𝑙𝑓 𝑜𝑟 𝑎 𝑔𝑖𝑟𝑙? Eighth grade. The last day of school. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑙𝑓 𝑝𝑢𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑑 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑎𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑙𝑎𝑤𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑡𝑠 𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑜𝑢𝑡. And Selinie...Selinie let it out, because she was angry. She doesn't really remember anything, now, besides the sound of Amanda's screams. Later, They said that Amanda almost died. They cleaned up Selinie's mess, and erased the memories of all the rich southern girls, and told Selinie's parentss that she had a medical condition that caused her to "have seizures". They gave her pills to keep the worst of the wolf at bay, but there was nothing They could do about the full moon. Selinie, for her part, got into { 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃 } by applying through all the usual channels.

She's not very popular at all - as of right now, she's got 𝑛𝑜 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙 𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑎𝑘 𝑜𝑓 - but a very good student. Nobody has connected her to anything wolf-related so far, but sometimes, Selinie feels her own control slipping, and it scares the shit out of her. Doesn't like being noticed or called out for being different; tries her best to blend in with everyone else. 𝐻𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑠 being called out in front of other people or put on the spot.

Loyal. Offers quiet companionship and will freely give away notes and/or study help; 𝑠ℎ𝑒'𝑠 𝑑𝑒𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑟𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡, 𝑤𝑒𝑙𝑙, 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔. Selinie's not someone who likes to take risks, so she probably worries a lot if any friends she has seem like the type to get themselves into trouble. She's very bad at bringing something up with someone if they're hurting her feelings, and most often will just withdraw and try to deal with it herself, rather than confront the person head-on. 𝐼𝑛 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑡ℎ, 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒'𝑠 𝑎 𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑙𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑖𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑡 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡, just because she's 1) one of the popular girls (and a cheerleader, too!), and 2) she just seems to capture the attention of everyone in the room, no matter where she goes. So in the beginning, Selinie thought she was similar to the popular girls who made fun of her in middle school, but 𝑚𝑒𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐹𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎 𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑀𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑠 was more than enough to change her view of Marlowe. Fiona was Selinie's first real friend at { 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃 }, and she quickly learned all about what a wonderful person Marlowe was through her.

𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠𝑛'𝑡 𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 𝐹𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎. But she thinks she remembers someone - who it is, exactly, she can't quite place - making her smile and laugh in a way that she thought she'd forgotten how to do. She thinks she remembers someone kind and smart who made her feel like she didn't have to hide. 𝑊𝑎𝑠 𝑖𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑎 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝑢𝑝 𝑖𝑛 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑, ℎ𝑦𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑎𝑛𝑑 ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑓-𝑚𝑎𝑑 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑜𝑜𝑛?

Marlowe mentions a sister that, as far as Selinie knows, never existed. 𝐴𝑛𝑑 𝑦𝑒𝑡, 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑙𝑠 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙𝑦....𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒? 𝑎𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑙𝑜𝑤𝑒. She somehow knows she's different from the other cheerleaders. They met at some point, but she doesn't remember how? So, when Marlowe mentions her sister 𝐹𝑖𝑓𝑖, Selinie wishes, with all her heart, that she knew what she was talking about.

Selinie has never interacted with Osman in her life. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑠 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 ℎ𝑖𝑚 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 ℎ𝑒’𝑠…𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑇𝑢𝑏𝑒 𝑓𝑎𝑚𝑜𝑢𝑠? There's some people in her classes talking about how he was gone, or whatever, but - Selinie never noticed??? Why wouldn't he have been here the entire time? One day, on a whim, she checked the YouTube channel that he ran with Jules. There wasn’t very much to interest her, and she was about to close the tab, when she saw it. 𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑣𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑜 𝑜𝑓 ℎ𝑒𝑟.

𝐿𝑎𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑙 𝑖𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒'𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠. Laurel joined astronomy and sat next to her on the first day and talked to her and was nice to her - which was already, like, swoon!! Because Laurel's this popular cheerleader that everyone likes, and Selinie's, well, a nobody - and they became friends through the course of the semester, through study dates at the library re: astronomy club stuff. 𝐿𝑎𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑙 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒𝑠 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑦-𝑒𝑦𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑛 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑘. And she definitely enjoys their little get-togethers, from study sessions to movie nights and face masks.

Selinie's never interacted with Violet in her life, and she's not sure if she wants to change that. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑢𝑏𝑏𝑙𝑦 𝑏𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑑𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑢𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑛 𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒 𝑣𝑖𝑏𝑒 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑏𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑢𝑝 𝑏𝑎𝑑 𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠, but there's no reason for Violet to even look her way, right? So it doesn't really matter...but Selinie can't help feeling that sometimes, Violet's 𝑤𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑎𝑓𝑎𝑟. And she has absolutely no idea why???

{ 𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 } '𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑇𝑢𝑏𝑒 𝑔𝑢𝑦', 𝑖𝑠 𝑏𝑎𝑠𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑠 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 ℎ𝑖𝑚. Selinie knows that he's popular, and that he's a football player, and that he's got a YouTube channel with Osman. From a distance, he 𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑚𝑠 𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑒𝑟, but she's never really had any reason to approach him. She's heard comments about how he's 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑤𝑒𝑖𝑟𝑑𝑙𝑦 or whatever, but Selinie assumes that they're just random comments; idle gossip. She never knew him well enough to know what 'acting weirdly' would have been for Jules, anyway.

{ 𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 } 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑟𝑎, besides the fact that she's new to the school, and a cheerleader. She seems a bit intimidating to Selinie, but then again, 𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡 cheerleaders intimidate her. They've never interacted, and Selinie 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠𝑛'𝑡 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑛 𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ ℎ𝑒𝑟 in the future.

☽ 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐁𝐔𝐑𝐊𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐓 ☾

Selinie doesn't really know her, but she seems nice. 𝑆𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙, 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑖𝑠𝑛'𝑡 𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑓 𝑇𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑘 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒, so she hasn't thought to approach her, or try to make friends with her. . .though that soon changes when 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦'𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘 𝑜𝑛 𝑎 𝐵𝑖𝑜 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑗𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟, early on in the semester. During the time period where they're partners, Selinie sees Trinity working in the library one night, and after Trinity says it's okay, she sits and studies at the same table with her. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑤𝑜 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑖𝑛𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟, 𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑙 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑦, 𝑇𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡-𝑢𝑝 𝑖𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑠 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑦 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑖𝑛 𝑎 𝑟𝑜𝑜𝑚 𝑠ℎ𝑒'𝑑 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑏𝑟𝑎𝑟𝑦, and from that moment on, they are friends.

☽ 𝐙𝐎𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐓-𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐍𝐄 ☾

𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒'𝑠 𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑛 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑎𝑓𝑎𝑟, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦'𝑣𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑. She doesn't really have any opinion of Zoé - she's pretty, she seems quiet, and that's all about Selinie can really say. 𝐵𝑢𝑡 𝑍𝑜é ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓 ℎ𝑎𝑠 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑤𝑛 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑠 (𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑙𝑦, 𝑔ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑠?!?!), and unfortunately for Selinie, those ghosts taking her to the forest might just have the two girls cross paths...at exactly the 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑚𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡.

☽ 𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐑𝐀 𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐋 ☾

𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠𝑛'𝑡 𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑑 ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑠ℎ𝑒'𝑠 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑎 𝑝𝑜𝑝𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑟 𝑔𝑖𝑟𝑙??? Selinie doesn't know her, but she hears stories about how she's dating (and sleeping) around. And she hears that Allegra's supposed to be this gorgeous otherwordly girl that's also well-liked, and she really doesn't get it - ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑖𝑠 𝐴𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑔𝑟𝑎 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑐𝑒𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑠 𝑤𝑒𝑖𝑟𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑔𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑐, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝑝𝑜𝑝𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑟??? In any case, Selinie has kept her distance thus far, and unless Allegra tries to approach her, she doesn't see it changing.

So when Allegra finally does approach her (for her own ulterior purposes, that Selinie is unaware of)...it comes as a bit of a shock. 𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝐿𝑎𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑙 𝑠𝑎𝑡 𝑛𝑒𝑥𝑡 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑑 ℎ𝑖, because everyone knows that Laurel's friendly and nice. But that's not the case with Allegra. Nevertheless, Selinie is hesitant but polite, and as Allegra 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑 (𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑: 𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑝𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑒) ℎ𝑒𝑟, 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑙 𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑦 - 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑜𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝐴𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑔𝑟𝑎? Does she really want to be thought of as 'strange', again? And she feels absolutely horrible for feeling that way.

𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑛𝑜 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑎𝑐ℎ 𝐾𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑎, 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒, 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 – she’s a cheerleader, and an upperclassman, and even if she seems more reserved and closed-off than cheerleaders like, say, 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑙𝑜𝑤𝑒 𝑜𝑟 𝐿𝑎𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑙, Selinie’s still pretty convinced that Kristina 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠𝑛’𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑑𝑜 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ ℎ𝑒𝑟. And that conviction may or may not have something to do with the strange aversion that 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓 𝑚𝑦𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑙𝑦 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑙𝑠 𝑎𝑠 𝑤𝑒𝑙𝑙. . .???

☽ 𝐉𝐔𝐃𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐅𝐄 ☾

𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑖𝑠𝑛’𝑡 𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝐽𝑢𝑑𝑒, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 ℎ𝑒’𝑠 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑑𝑙𝑦 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑏𝑎𝑑, from what Jade’s told her. Selinie was friends with Jade through Astronomy, so when Jade disappeared, she was naturally very worried. She finally 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑢𝑝 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑜 𝑎𝑠𝑘 𝐽𝑢𝑑𝑒 about his sister – 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑘𝑎𝑦? 𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑜? – but Jude brushed her off none-too-kindly, saying that she was alright and leaving it at that. After that interaction, Selinie’s afraid that she accidentally offended him, somehow, and has no intention of ever talking to him again.

☽ 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐓𝐒𝐀𝐈 ☾

𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑗𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑀𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝑠ℎ𝑚𝑎𝑛, Catherine positively 𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑒𝑑 her. She was quiet and sullen and always seemed to be mad at something, so Selinie kept her distance. And then, after winter break, suddenly Catherine just seemed…happier? And so much nicer? Like…what?! So, needless to say, Selinie was 𝑒𝑥𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑓𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑑, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑛’𝑡 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑢𝑑𝑑𝑒𝑛 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒. She didn’t know what was happening, and didn’t really know what to make of it, so she continued to keep her distance.

And then Selinie’s sophomore year rolled around, and 𝐶𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝑗𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑜𝑚𝑦. Selinie has also seen her hanging around the forest more and more often, and although she’s had no problems with Catherine’s (or anyone else at { 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃 }, to be honest) night-time activities interfering with her schedule with the full moon, she’s…wary. What if Catherine catches her turning into a wolf, one day? 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛?

{ 𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 } Selinie knows Helena from Astronomy, and she thinks that Helena is 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑒, 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑖𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛'𝑡 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝑑 𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠. She's heard people mention Helena and her fondness of horses before, but Selinie thinks nothing of it - there's nothing wrong with that, after all!
