    𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞: Marlowe Shane Brett-Johnson
𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞/𝐬: Mouse - a nickname her mothers gave her when she was four; always mousing around, curiously poking her nose where she shouldn't. Once she started school, her closer friends who would hear her mothers refer to Marlowe as Mouse, would quickly pick up on it and thirteen years later, it stuck. Champ - it's what Coach O'Connor used to call her all the time. She used to love being called that, now, three years after his death, the nickname sends chills down Marlowe's spine.

    𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘

As a young child Marlowe was energetic; a literal force to reckoned with, never knowing when or where to stop. Her mothers always said that she was too curious for her own good, constantly sticking her nose into things that she shouldn't have and getting herself in trouble. Being constantly on the road; moving from one place to another helped slowly shape her into a restless soul and maybe that's one of the reasons why she secretly hated Lana's new job and the sudden introduction to something called a routine.

Her days as a budding gymnast are one of the main reason why she became the competitive and hard-working person she is today. Once she has her mind set on something, there's no way of changing it and she will do everything in her power to reach her goal. Nothing is too hard for her, everything is a challenge that she will most likely wholeheartedly accept. But her coach's death and the plethora of things that followed after changed Marlowe. The pressure made her a bit of a recluse and suddenly, the girl who loved running free became far more comfortable being by cooped up in her room.

It's like a light went out; Marlowe was no longer eager to know about anything and everything. She began loathing herself for being a coward; for not being able to remember what happened to her beloved coach. And most importantly for not being to protect him. She started to hate her reflection, refusing to have her photo taken or stare at herself in the mirror for a minute or longer. According to her mothers it's all part of growing up - discovering the things that make us feel gross; make us feel like a freak and nuisance to society.

Fortunately, her attendance to {REDACTED} was positive. While most loathed being cut out from the outside world, Marlowe found comfort in it. No one knew what she witnessed and she was free to go back to the girl she once was. It took her only weeks before she was back to normal and making friends left and right. Her natural athletic talent helped too.

Often times Marlowe might come off as a ditzy and carefree to most of her peers, but she's far from stupid. Yes, she has her blonde moments from time to time, but they only occur because she's spontaneous and in constant need to be first and the best at everything. A constant motivator, she's the first person you will go to if in need to feel better. But, just because Marlowe was somehow able to suppress her bad memories, doesn't mean that the insecurities have disappeared.

She still avoids mirrors. If you take her photo without her consent her fury is unavoidable. She will eat cake and spit it out the next second because that's what her coach taught her to do many years ago. Her friends are her life, but that doesn't mean she's going to do everything in order to protect them. She already has someone that needs protecting and now that person is gone.

Her sister's disappearance is slowly reverting Marlowe into the person she hates. It's making her paranoid; wary of everyone who flashes her a smile or offers help. Her insecurities are growing bigger with each passing day and the pesky hairs on her back aren't making it any better.

    𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃

Lana Brett and Jane Johnson are an unstoppable force; you can't keep the grounded even if you tried, so it's no wonder they chose professions that will constantly have them moving around the globe. The history of the world and the wonders it hides from regular people like them created an unmistakable bond between the two women that once was created they could never be separated ever again.

Lana and Jane had everything: they were in love, they were paid to travel the world and snoop around and had a big bright future ahead. And then they met her. During their countless adventures the women had encountered all kinds of oddities, but when the woman appeared before them and asked for a very specific favor - they both became suspicious.

For all they knew it could've been a scam. They were lesbians in a foreign country and the world at the time had taught them to be wary of everything. So they went home, but Jane couldn't stop thinking about it. She kept thinking about the prize the woman promised them if they help her get back what is rightfully hers.

Jane Johnson was almost arrested that night. Everything ran smoothly until the moment she touched the artifact. She was always told not to fuck around with cursed objects and yet there she with: fucking with it. One moment she was surrounded by red and blue lights and told to get on the ground and the next she was back in bed, next to her beloved. Was it a dream?

There was no trace of the woman and Lana, despite her impeccable memory, had no recollection of ever stumbling upon a tall, grey-eyed stranger. Years went by and eventually Jane forced herself to believe that everything she experienced during her trip to Greece many, many years ago was just a strange, vivid dream.

Almost a decade later, after months of planning Jane got pregnant with her and Lana's first child. A daughter. Haunted by her previous experiences, she couldn't stop from having terrible nightmares during a majority of her pregnancy. A week before she was about to give birth the woman appeared again, but this time in a dream. She'd thanked her for being a dedicated follower for all those years and helping her retrieve what is rightfully hers. The woman then promised to put a protection on then Jane's one and only most prized possession: her unborn daughter.

Marlowe Shane Brett-Johnson was born later that night.

From the moment she stepped into the world, Marlowe was an energetic and lively child. Taking up after her mothers, she was always on the go; desperately searching for a brand new adventure. Sometimes she will find it, other times she would get herself in massive trouble that had her mothers suffering from migraines for days.

Two years later, Lana gave birth to Marlowe's baby sister Fiona and since the moment the smiley baby stepped into the world, Marlowe swore to protect her little sister with all her life. The girls were inseparable, constantly clinging to one another and sure - it was mainly because their mothers were constantly on the go; moving from one country to another, never in the mood to set roots to one place only. But Marlowe and Fiona didn't mind it - they liked having being one another's best friends.

Their days were spent wandering around museums and libraries, learning dead languages and things kids their age would never know. By the time they reached the age of ten they were already fluent in three languages and a basic walking encyclopedia. Their mothers were proud and Jane never tucked them into bed before telling them a Greek myth or two.

When Marlowe was eleven, Lana was offered to teach History at Yale. It was difficult, realizing that they will have to set foot in one place only, but at the same time everyone knew just how much this meant to Lana. So they moved and Marlowe and her sister started attending regular school. Despite being a natural scholar, her constant need to remain active threw Marlowe into the world of athletics and suddenly she wanted to pursue every sport under the sun before finally settling down for gymnastics.

At the age of twelve, she was deemed to be too old for the sport by many and just as Marlowe was about to give up and pursue something new, he showed up. Tatum O'Connor was 32 and an only recently retired gymnast that saw something in her that others didn't. He saw her passion and energy and need for success. Tatum made Marlowe of performing at the Olympics one day and suddenly she became obsessed with the idea of winning a gold medal and parading it all over the world. He trained her for two years, but Marlowe possessed such natural talent for the sport that she appeared as if she'd been training all her life.

    And then he died.

No one knows why or how it happened. One second Marlowe was doing back flips and the next she was pressed against the wall crying her eyes out while her coach's lifeless body lay there on the ground. She's the only witness and for a long time, the police suspected that she could be the culprit, but there was no forced trauma - the man just dropped dead out of thin air.

Marlowe's dream to be a star gymnastic stopped that day. She became a recluse, the pressure of being accused as her beloved coach's murderer forcing her to hide from the rest of the world. She was supposed to be a normal kid, attend regular high school and experience life as any other person her age, but apparently the universe had other plans for her.

The following year she was enrolled in {REDACTED} just like Lana was when she was the same age. Her mothers convinced Marlowe that the school would be good for her; it'd keep her safe and she'll be surrounded by people who will have no recollection of her past. They will look after her; she will be able to have a normal high school experience.

{REDACTED} is.... strange. There are way too many rules and regulations and curfews. The town surrounding it is fake and the forest is scary, but Marlowe... likes it? It's tranquil. The people usually keep to themselves, despite weird things happening from time to time.

Her experience in {REDACTED} became even more enjoyable once Fiona started attending. The sisters were together again, inseparable from day one until they returned from Christmas break and Fiona mysteriously disappeared. She went out to town for a piece of the famous raspberry pie and never returned again.

But wait - that's not the worst thing.

The worst thing is that everyone acts as if Fiona never existed in the first place. When Marlowe mentions her little sister everyone keeps looking at her as if she's crazy - You have a sister? - as if Fifi never attended {REDACTED} or existed for that matter.

    𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐒

Marlowe lied. She lied to the police, she lied to her mothers.... she even lied to her favorite person in the entire world: her beloved sister Fifi. She knows exactly what happened to Coach O'Connor. After all, she was there. But just because she saw the entire thing happen in front of her very eyes doesn't mean that she's able to explain it. If she did; if Marlowe started telling people about that dreadful day her mothers would've probably been forced to send their daughter into a psych ward rather than {REDACTED}.

He was fine. He was looking at her from afar and smiling and then....

Coach O'Connor always said that Marlowe was far more talented than the other girls her age. He said that she understood in ways the other girls just simply couldn't. He told Marlowe that he enjoyed her company, that she was much smarter than most women.

He was fine. He was only trying to help her get up because she fell. He stroked her face and told her it was going to be okay and then... he was laying on the ground completely petrified.

Another thing that's been making Marlowe feel like an absolute freak as of late are these strange dreams that she's been having. They almost never make sense, just appear in a form of random shots, like photos out of order. Eyes, skin, feathers...
Someone's always whispering in Marlowe's ear during those dreams. Someone's always watching her, tugging onto her hair. And then she wakes up and most days, she forgets even having weird dreams. Ever since her sister disappeared, she can't stop dreaming. Even when she's awake.

Her mothers assured her that it was only hormones; all girls her age go through these weird hormonal trips that make them feel fucking disgusting, but the skin on Marlowe's back has made her more than just disgusting. It's constantly itchy and when she tries to scratch it, it keeps... falling? GROSS! Because of this she can no longer attend cheer practice in only her sports bra. She has to change in her room like a freak. And what about that backless dress she bought for prom? WASTED.

She and her sister were taught from a very young age to refer to their mothers by their first names. This decision was made partially because Lana and Jane wanted to make it less confusing when one of their daughters would shout MOM out of nowhere.

Has been the same height - 5'1 - since the age of twelve. If she was still a gymnast this would've been perfect, but her days as a future gold medalist are far behind her, so now Marlowe spends most of her days being irritated by most tall people.

Only the following people are allowed to call her Mouse: 1) her moms 2) Fifi 3) The girls from the cheer squad and that's about it. If you're not close and refer to her by that, expect a super deadly glare (and a week worth of painful migraines).

Every night (until Fifi turned 12 and decided she's too old for bedtime stories) Jane would tell them various Greek Myth and ancient fairy tales she studied during her college years. According to her, these tales are far more important than whatever her girls would be taught one day in school. Even though most times she loved them, some of Jane's retellings often gave Marlowe nightmares.

Even though incredibly prejudiced at first, Marlowe has grown to love cheerleading with all her heart. In a matter of weeks the sport had become a large part of her life and the girls that formed the squad one of her closest friends. Everyone who's seen her perform with the squad will easily tell you that Marlowe's a natural; a born flyer. Each time she's thrown in the air, people hold their breaths; she's flexible as hell - an actual human pretzel and her team loves her for it.

Has started to grow more and more insecure when the topic of her dating life is being brought up. All of her friends are dating or have dated someone and yet there she is, poor little Marlowe. No one understands - you're like so pretty - why isn't anyone expressing interest in asking her out? She's never had crushes on any boys (or girls for that matter). Sure - there are plenty of people she's considered to be cute or pretty or beautiful, but not enough for her heart to beat in a way people sing or write about. Marlowe knows that she isn't broken - maybe she's just a late bloomer like Lana was back in the day or maybe she just doesn't have time for that nonsense at the moment.

Is very particular about a lot of things: her food, her clothes, how her face looks on pictures... It has nothing to do with her being spoiled or anything - Marlowe just likes things being up par to her taste. There's nothing wrong with that. Plus she always has an excuse. For an example: being a flyer means always staying in shape, otherwise she wouldn't be able to do half the things flyers are supposed to hence her being picky about food.

Marlowe might be insecure about a majority of things, but there's one thing she takes great pride in and that is her hair. Yes, it's just hair, but it means everything to her.

Some people had actual pets, Marlowe and Fifi had pet rocks. No, Marlowe doesn't hate animals, she's just deadly allergic to their furs and that fact was proven when her sister brought home a stray puppy and she legit had a seizure. Okay, it was just an allergic reaction but she could've died! Sullivan still lives with their mothers, in the backyard, as far away from Marlowe as possible.

Hates, hates, hates, HATES reptiles. Which is strange because they seem incredibly fond of her.

    𝐈𝐍 𝐀 𝐍𝐔𝐓𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋:

Very energetic and at times carefree, those who know Marlowe best will quickly tell you that she's one of the best people to have around. Her personality drastically changed once she began attending {REDACTED}. What at first was a quiet recluse suddenly turned into a bright and bubbly social butterfly that took everything as a competition.

Fiona's sudden disappearance took a toll on Marlowe: she no longer is excited to be included in everything. People have no idea why there's this sudden shift in her character: she's never had a sister and yet there she is constantly talking about one and looking dead behind her eyes.

Marlowe doesn't like the person she's slowly becoming; it reminds her of the way she used to be after Coach O'Conner died. She used to be so scared; so hopeless. The fact that she grows more and more insecure with each passing day certainly doesn't help. Yes all teenage girls are insecure, but are they self-loathing as Marlowe?

    𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌:

Those who don't know her well will easily let you know that Marlowe is just like the rest of those air-headed cheerleaders. Ditzy, conceited and self-serving. Her carefree personality and bad habit of speaking before thinking has made others believe that Marlowe may be a tad bit stupid. She's always running her mouth and smacking gum and talking about a brand new diet she's trying out. She yells at people that try to take her photo and despite her short stature, anger looks truly terrifying on the seemingly kind and sweet Marlowe.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘:

Loyal, but to an extend. If something's up she will most definitely tell you - Marlowe has no time to play games or lie to her friends that they are doing amazing when they aren't. This has made her a bit of a... bitch in her close circles. Apparently others would rather be constantly lied to than have the truth presented to them. She can also be slightly dependent; gets attached too easily because platonic relationships mean the world to her. The type of person that gets jealous when their friends make new friends.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘:

If only Marlowe knew. She's never been in a relationship, or kissed anyone or had a crush for that matter. Is she broken? No, not at all - at least not according to Lana. She's a late bloomer that's all. It's going to take the right person for Marlowe to open up to and finally discover what she likes and what she doesn't like.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏:

Someone she can watch movies with and take cute photos of and just have an all around good time. Marlowe is a girl's girl - despite being quite into sports and often time ooze this tomboyish energy, she has absolutely no time in starting friendships with those smelly boys. Unless..... necessary. The thing is, Marlowe just wants to be liked. Not by everyone, but at least by a good portion of the school - so she tries her best to be nice to everyone. Even though that's very hard at times.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐒:

....... she is not looking for a romantic relationship, but then again, she's not not looking. Is someone looking? She would like to know.
