    To start this post, lemme quote Kyungri of Heart2Heart, "The first thing that comes to my mind when it comes to 'Star Beam Collab' , is definitely NCT!!".

    Whether you are ship Star Beam with NCT 127, NCT Dream or WayV or let's say OT21, let's admit, Star Beam & NCT are bunch of visual gods and goddesses packed with talent and personality. We are all excited to see these two perform Star Beam's hit song "Mermaid Princess" on Seoul Music Awards. Of course, their closeness made the chemistry look organic in spite of the age gap (Ryuna is 7 years older than Jisung BTW). But we didn't know that this special stage is gonna be this deeper. Prepare your popcorn because we will have... THEORY TIME!!!!!

    So we all know that "Mermaid Princess" is a song about a girl who experienced love at first sight who don't have a courage to express her feelings and feels like no one can save her using "The Little Mermaid" as a metaphor (well, at least for Star Beam). Since this almost 3-year-old song will be performed, I try to connect Star Beam & Dreamies so prepare your popcorn 🍿

    As what I said, the OG plot of "The Little Mermaid" is pretty disturbing to the point that Jeonah cried while reading in order to get into the emotions of the persona. In Dreams, Mermaid is a symbol of seduction, temptation, deception and anyone who dreamed of this should be warned. Before the Disney version of "Little Mermaid" was released, mermaids were protrayed as beautiful half-human,half fish who lured anyone with their singing voices to their death. How scary isn't it?

    NCT Dream have 2 title tracks related to the fishy theory: "We Young" for the sailor concept and "Boom" for the skull imagery (which is associated with pirates). Some theorized the skull symbolism alluded to the pending graduation of the 00 Liners (Renjun, Jeno, Haechan & Jaemin) from NCT Dream. Please make NCT Dream a fixed unit 😢 Sailors and pirates are usually the victims of mermaids.

    Let's not forget that B-Sides "119" and "Drippin" which being regarded by NCTzens as 'hoe anthems' can be tied up with this theory. If you interpret the lyrics in the not so "hoe" way, "119" is about warning the listeners about a gruesome, dangerous game and "Drippin" uses water as a metaphor in describing an intense and passionate game of love. "119" is the emergency number in Korea and sirens can be associated with emergency. Other than that, sirens are also associated with mermaids.

    So let's not forget that the heroine of "The Little Mermaid" is the youngest among the siblings (both in the original and the Disney version). You know who is the youngest of Star Beam? YUJIA. Yujia was paired with 3 members of NCT (1 per unit):
