Or at least thatโ€™s what she wants everyone to think. According to her, anyone who doesnโ€™t pretend to love the Rectors, so wholly and lovingly, is destined to die. Thereโ€™s more power in pretending.
    ๐‘ญ๐’๐’‚๐’˜๐’” โžฃ
V canโ€™t seem to ever get over a grudge. Sheโ€™s more apt to revenge than anyone else she knows. Most people want to work out things peacefully, but Violet is perfectly fine with resorting to battle first, whether verbal or physical. She finds that it works itself out much quicker that way. Plus, people tend to leave you the fuck alone that way.
Easily jealous, V gets attached quite easily. This can be a good thing since it shows her undying loyalty to those she loves, but it tends to get her in trouble more than anything. With her inability to move on from something peacefully, many of her romantic endeavors have been ruined by her jealousy and inability to trust her boyfriends. Her friendships also have the capacity to suffer too. Her relationship with her sister wouldnโ€™t be nearly as nonexistent if V would just swallow her pride and tell her that she loves her. However, trusting and admitting that to Chrysie would put her in danger of being hurt again, and that is not something sheโ€™s interested in doing.
Nobody would ever call Violet kind; sheโ€™s actually quite gruff with people. Sheโ€™s loving, passionate even, but she canโ€™t seem to express her affection for people with her words. Sheโ€™s moody, needy, uncouth, and unable to be consistent. Sheโ€™ll cuss you out and claim that thatโ€™s her expressing her undying love and affection. โ€œRead in between the line!โ€
V easily lies to herself about her motivations and her strengths. Sheโ€™ll pretend that sheโ€™s ultra-confident, but sheโ€™s actually quite insecure.
    ๐‘บ๐’•๐’“๐’†๐’๐’ˆ๐’•๐’‰๐’” โžฃ
No one could ever say that Violet isnโ€™t passionate, almost to the point of headstrongness, but itโ€™s to her benefit. V wonโ€™t let anything stand in the way of her doing what she wants or getting what/who she wants. However, this is hyperbole. Thereโ€™s plenty of logistics that keep her from always getting what she wants (i.e. her father, the Rectors, etc.), and sheโ€™ll usually let them get in her way of getting what she wants. Sheโ€™ll just pretend that working around them or getting โ€œnewโ€ passion projects is unadulterated passion and determination. Violet is extremely hardworking. Sheโ€™ll definitely go the mile for things and people she cares about.
She may not be the best at expressing herself in a proper way, but V shows people how she feels through actions. Sheโ€™s incredibly good at giving a hug when she senses people need it. Sheโ€™s loyal, but this doesnโ€™t happen easily, which is why she holds grudges so easily. Thereโ€™s a lot she expects out of those she loves, barring perhaps her father, whom she looks up to too much, but she gives back just as much, if not more.
Sheโ€™s quite the little flirt! Perhaps this is unsurprising, considering her passionate nature, but she has an innate ability to attract romantic partners. Some might call her a whore, considering sheโ€™s a youth minister, but sheโ€™d argue that the Rectors arenโ€™t against protected sex. Hell, they probably appreciate it since it makes people much more appeasable if theyโ€™re sated. Itโ€™s only with babies that sex becomes a problem. Thankfully, Violet can do without babies, ever.

When you first meet Vi, sheโ€™s quite bubbly and aloof. She also has a tendency to spew a double entendre after another. Violet comes across as confident and humourous. As you get to know her, if she lets you, she can become more and more annoying and attentive. Her numerous flaws begin to show just as much as her intense attributes.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย โžฃ Some would call Vi immovable, stubborn as a mule, but she chooses to see it as a sign of her determination. Perhaps the inability to change can be a bad thing, but at least no one's pulling a fast one over on Violet. She sees it as a form of protection; who's going to fuck with you when you're like this? This comes in handy with her job as a youth minister for one of the many enclaves of people (like her father) who worship the Rectors. People have a tendency to miscount Vi, choosing to see her age or her economic status from Earth. Violet despises this fact, and she works against it constantly. She's only ever gotten anywhere in life, including the space program. She's always been the engine of her family, pushing her father forward from her mother's abandonment, pushing her mom to pay child support (who cares if she had to guilt her into it... it got the job done, didn't it?), and convincing her sister to go to college. She believes in being the mastermind of one's own success, and she won't let anyone "get in her fucking way."
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย โžฃ Some would call this excessive, but she calls it passion. Some might call her way of success manipulative, but she calls it necessary. "Everyone makes their own path in life, and you've got no right to judge mine," according to Vi. "It's not my fault you'll be left on Earth while I'm finding a planet that isn't fuckin' dying."

    ๏ผข๏ผฉ๏ผฏ๏ผง๏ผฒ๏ผก๏ผฐ๏ผจ๏ผน

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย โžฃ Violet's early life was picturesque. Her mother and father were fantastic, active parents that read her and Chrysie bed-time stories. She was no stranger to love, and she spent every Friday having stereotypical "Game Night" with her family. However, her parents worried about her not having any friends (which was fair since V was five and still hadn't had a playdate). Violet supposes this is where the religiousness of her family came from since they figured Sunday School would be the best place for her to meet people her own age. After the Rectors came and her mother left with Chrysie, her father stopped going to church. He saw it as a place where he went with his once-whole family. With this, he decided to look towards the future and joined the local group of Rector worshippers.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย โžฃIn an attempt to please her father, Violet joined the sect and became heavily involved. She was just happy to see her father happy again, even if he won't bring up her sister or mother. Ever willing to please, Vi maintained a heavy social life where she looked perfect. Despite having a sailor's mouth, enjoying a good party, and sometimes just being "left the fuck alone," she pretends that she loves the quiet, perfectionist life her father leads. She pretends to be sweet when Vi knows she isn't. She can't be; it's just not in her. However, Violet's gotten really good at wearing costumes and being two different people at once.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย โžฃVi's role with the new space program is multi-faceted. While she helps her father lead the Rector-worshipper congregation, she also works as a repairwoman and tech developer (much more of the former than the latter, but she can continue to dream). Most days, Violet spends her mornings in a grime-y shop filled with space parts and, usually, just regular parts for broken TVs. Sometimes, on the off chance that someone fucks with a Rector or a non-AI piece of tech on a day where the licensed-repairers are busy, Vi gets to work on what she really wants. Sometimes, when not kept under lock-and-key, she'll slip in a little upgrade she's been working on, like her addition of personality chips to some of the TVs and communication ports she usually ends up working on (it worked great for her personal port, PORTia, but she hasn't found anyone who kept the program in for more than a few hours. Too much screaming... or rather, static).

Harrold is exactly the type of father youโ€™d expect of a power-hungry gal like V. Heโ€™s incredibly sweet, kind, and caring. In fact, he is one of the types of people you might even say has a โ€œbeautiful and encapsulating spiritโ€. However, heโ€™s an extremely pious man. Harrold isnโ€™t a supportive, fun-loving dad with religion. This lessens the shininess of his soul, in Vโ€™s eyes.
With their semi-strained relationship, V finds it hard to communicate with Harrold. Heโ€™s too cold, too statuesque when it comes to his praisings of the Rectors. He never discusses Vโ€™s mom or older sister or how they are really just a few towns away. Correction: theyโ€™re a few lightyears away, but at one point they werenโ€™t. They were in the next room, then they were at Grandmaโ€™s house the next town over. Then, they moved out entirely. They left her, and she ceased being Violet. Harrold also stopped being so Harrold. He, too, is left soft; he has a tendency to be short with V for her silly mistakes. He no longer communicates with her. He simply pretends to be his old self, with a borderline apathetic smile here and there, and then only is genuine when he talks of the Rectors saving them.

Chrysie was really close to Violet for the entirety of their childhood. Although a few years older than V, Chrysanthemum has always felt drawn to her sister instead of the other way around. She knew that her sister was more of a leader than herself, and that type of magnetism is what drew her to Violet. It was always Vi who led the two of them on silly little trips into the woods or to the abandoned Walmart down the street (where Chrysie would have to explain the words written in graffiti to V, and V would look at the cash registers and figure out how to open them.). However, their childhood is all that their relationship is anymore, especially with the prospect of V being lightyears away. They already canโ€™t build up the courage to see each other on Earth, where theyโ€™re only fifty miles away.

Daisy used to be a lot like Vโ€™s dad: heartwarming, sickly sweet, and endearing. Slowly, over the years, she became more and more tainted, dragged down. Weighted, as Harrold would come to describe her to his church friends, in the time before the Rectors. It was with the Rectors that Daisy finally broke. She couldnโ€™t stand being married, a mother of two. She couldnโ€™t stand herself within the confines of her life, and she took the Rectors coming as an opportunity to escape. She left Harrold and V, but she took Chrysie. Violet supposes this is because her sisterโ€™s a grown woman; Chrysie would really only serve to assist Daisy instead of Daisy having to take care of Chrysanthemum. Or at least thatโ€™s what V tells herself.
