Milan Fashion Week was full of runways, events and surprises. There must be a reason if many attendants call it their favourite fashion week, right? In fact, we struggled to select the best shows since they all were so cool! Anyway, here is our review of the most interesting shows and trends.
ALBERTA FERRETTI
Safari-style cyclically comes back. This time, it has been brought by Alberta Ferretti, who used brown tones and orange to create a safari mood, mixed with hot pink, purple and blue for some garments with Native American vibes. There were lots of peasant shirts, paperwaist shorts, patchwork prints: everything you can expect from a spring/summer collection. Our favourite look: the perfect explorer look: brown shorts, white shirt, a mustard trench coat with matchy belt, an oversized hat, a statement earring. All paired with a patchwork shoulder bag and colourful sandals.
BOSS
If Boss ever did something wrong, please tell us: we can’t find anything which is not perfect. Including this collection: lots of white and hearth tones, touches of pastel yellow, red, blue and mint, and a modern street mood made of structured jackets, tailored fluid pants, soft dresses. Our favourite look: a monochromatic white match of cropped utility jacket, fluid pants and a oversized clutch.

A romantic mood made of silk pajama-style co-ords, tulle ruffles, floral prints and pastel tones: this is Blumatine collection. Each piece is an ode to femininity, from the floral suit to the slip dress, from the pencil skirt to the gown. Our favourite look: a lace co-ord made of cropped t-shirt and shorts, both embroidered with pastel florals.
GIORGIO ARMANI
The timeless elegance of classic lines and just a few colors. Giorgio Armani never go wrong, and makes another classic but interesting collection. The signature black is paired with baby blue, royal blue and dusty pink. The style is classic and tailored, but enriched with surprising element such as volumes games, ruffled tops, 3D roses applications, crystal embellishments. Our favourite look: a suit is always a good choice, especially if it is a monochromatic baby blue one, with pants, shirt, clutch and a printed blazer, worn with baby blue and cream oxfords.

Displayed in a sunny location, MSGM collection would have been shiny even in a dark room. Pastel colors and contrasting pairings are the key elements of the distressed dresses and coats, together with drama sleeves, big belts, pussy bows, mesh details. Our favourite look: an orange peplum openwork sweater with voluminous sleeves, worn with a contrasting hot pink mesh skirt with matchy belt.

DOLCE & GABBANA
Dolce & Gabbana collections are the forever favourites of who is writing this article. This year the feminine, vintage style of the brand, enriched with Sicilian elements, met a safari style: it’s a Sicilian Jungle! Boiler suits, utility jackets, pants and bermuda are mixed with animal prints (leopard and leopard, but also zebra, giraffe and tiger patterns), tropical and fruit prints (such as watermelons, pineapple, palm leaves, tucanos) and the iconic florals. Dresses have the signature diva allure, but with wild detail such as knotted one-shoulder and cut-outs. And, of course, there are some super-hot black and still classy lace and mesh dresses that represent somehow the signature of the brand. Our favourite look: just one? Well, let’s go for the wild: a leopard shift dress worn with matchy tights, shoes and bags, and with golden jewellery.
