If someone were to judge her they could easily say that she's one of those girls that only hangs out with boys because they aren't as dramatic as girls. And even though a part of that is true, Rachel is also someone who quickly jumps into conclusions, makes rash decisions and talks before she speaks. Fiercely loyal to her friends and family, she won't hesitate to take a bullet for the ones she loves (but only if she gets something out of it). Very smart, Rachel is surprisingly good with numbers but that doesn't mean that she's calculative. A bit obsessed with how others perceive her, don't be surprised if you catch her telling people a lie or two just to make herself look good in their eyes.
Can hold a grudge like a motherfucker, never looks on the bright side and once she has her mind set on something it's hard to change it. But at the same time, Rachel can be the most fun-loving and daring person you'll ever meet. She never backs away from a challenge, always ready to do something new and fun and exciting as long as there's someone or something she can make fun of.

𝓫𝓲𝓸𝓰𝓻𝓪𝓹𝓱𝔂

Catarina Morino gave birth to a baby girl, seven weeks after her sixteenth birthday. The baby's father was nowhere to be seen, but this wasn't something neither Catarina or her mother found surprising. He wasn't supposed to know and probably never will and somehow sixteen year old Cat found solace in that. She wasn't ready to be a part of a new family and raise her daughter under someone else's roof where different rules are laid out.
Ever since she entered high school, Catarina knew that she wanted to drop out as soon as possible and pursue a career in acting. After all, Hollywood was just 3 hours away from San Diego, but her dreams had to be put on hold. At least one dream came true - she dropped out of high school.
Rachel Green Morino was named after Catarina's favorite fictional character that subsequently was played by her favorite actress and idol - Jennifer Aniston. Her mother Carla or better said, Abuelita - H A T E D the name. As a matter of fact, she hated Jennifer Aniston - period and for years called Rachel by Roja.
Despite the fact that her mom and Abuelita often butted heads over which parenting skills were better, Rachel had a pretty normal childhood. Believe it or not, San Diego has its fair share of teen moms (and dads alike) so no one batted an eye at the fact that Cat was raising a child before she even got her driving permit. Of course, everyone except dear old Abuelita who constantly reminded Cat of how irresponsible she was even though she loved Rachel - erm - Roja with all her heart.
And then tragedy struck. The summer before Rachel's tenth birthday, Abuelita was diagnosed with lung cancer. All that chain smoking had finally caught up to her and despite the frequent treatments, Abuelita passed away the next summer. Everyone was torn - especially Cat who despite having an incredibly rocky relationship with her mother took her death incredibly hard.
During the time of their grieving, Rachel took care of her mother - she cooked and cleaned and made dumb excuses as to why she can't come to work. Eventually Cat was fired from the job she had for almost twelve years and the real world fears slowly began to seep in. Abuelita could no longer take care of them - they had to take care of themselves so Cat decided that it was finally time to get her GED and go to beauty school - her plan B (you know if the whole acting thing never worked out - which it didn't).
Cat begins to work at the local nail salon along with Erika Sampson's mom. Rachel occasionally helps out by sweeping and washing hair. In the meantime, Johnathan - Rachel's best friend and former bio partner decides to form a rock band in his garage and wants Rachel to be their lead guitarist ("You're the only one that can play Wonderwall without fucking up").
Summer of 2016 - Cat throws Rachel a sweet sixteen birthday party, but it's a total disaster. The cake melts and everyone gets food poising the next day. Not to mention that Santiago Lopez - her first ever crush decided to not show up and break in the local pool with non other than Erika Sampson. Rachel is humiliated, but everything is suddenly better when Cat gives her the best present ever: a black fender guitar.
Rachel scores a 1450 on her SAT and is able to get accepted in her first choice school - University of San Diego. Everyone is over the moon and as a present Rachel gets her first ever acrylic nails - made by Cat of course. While running around getting all the right documents in check, one rainy day Rachel stumbles upon her birth certificate and a name that she hasn't heard before. Hunter Remington Jr. The name echoed in her head over and over again like a fucking broken record. Rachel had finally learned the identity of her father and now was wondering whether she should tell her mom about it.
Rachel doesn't tell Cat shit. Instead, she acts as if she can't read and decides to find her father on Facebook and Google and Instagram and LinkedIn. And boy does she find him. Over half a million results pop out in a matter of second as Rachel quickly finds out that her father isn't just a guy with a funny name. He is a rich and successful white dude with a net worth of 50 million who just happens to have the most ridiculous sounding name on the planet.
And so the cyber stalking begins. Rachel doesn't add him as a friend, she doesn't need to - each and every single one of his social media accounts is set on public and now she wonders - has Mom ever creeped on him as well? *He lives in New York City, likes vintage cars and red wine, his favorite food is his mother's lasagna - cute, but also probably not true because Rachel has seen his mom - her grandmother and she doesn't look like a woman that enjoys cooking (or getting dirty for that matter). His father - Hunter Remington Senior - Rachel's grandfather is the owner of a chain of restaurants across entire America. And Vancouver. No wonder Mom never talked about him. They probably didn't let her.
A year later - Rachel is eighteen and is just weeks away from graduating from high school. Hunter Remington Jr. shares a heartbreaking post about the passing of his Golden Retriever - Lucky. Rachel doesn't know why but she cries herself to sleep that night. She really liked Lucky and now she was never going to meet him. Two months later Hunter Remington shares that he's moving to Paris in order to open his own chain of restaurants. He has finally decided that he wants to be his own person, to live away from his father's shadow.
A light bulb suddenly goes out in Rachel's head as she recalls the conversations Erika Sampson had with Mrs. Sampson and her mom. Something about a nanny service, travelling abroad and an easy access visa. Oh yeah, like we make a ton of money, Erika had said. Rachel could use a ton of money, instead of getting a student loan that will most likely end up with her struggling with crippling dept and anxiety. So she swallows her pride and asks Erika all about it. Erika doesn't think Rachel is suited for the job You don't even like kids.
It doesn't matter though, Rachel has already made up her mind - she's going to become a fucking au pair or whatever they are called and be awesome at it. But first, she'll have attend all those interviews and a three month French course and... fuck fuck fuck this is too much work for someone who just wants to earn a couple of money and meet her dad.
She gets accepted. She gets her visa. A whole year with a family that consists of a single mom and two children - that's okay - that's fine. But... what is her mom going to do while she's away? It's not like Rachel will be away for the summer, we're talking about a year. A whole fucking year. And... and, what if her dad turns out to be the worst human being possible? What if he's like those racist pricks at that country club she worked last summer???
Rachel has no time to change her mind though. She already made the decision and fuck, is she regretting it.

A friend of mine who has been doing this for two summers in a row told me that is a good learning experience, so I decided to give it a try. I've always been someone who doesn't shy away from a challenge and likes to try new and exciting things and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to not only become a more independent person but also learn new things.

𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔 ?
It's a city that I've always wanted to visit and like an opportunity like this I would've been a fool not to choose it.

I started just a couple of weeks ago and so far it's been amazing. It's my first time (smiles). As for staying, I signed up for a 12 month plan.

Go back to school. I got accepted into USD, uhm, that is University of San Diego. I plan on being a math or computer programming major. Actually, engineering doesn't sad bad either.

Catarina never in her wildest dreams thought that one day she will grow up to become a teen mom. But that's not the worst thing - the worst thing is that she had to put her dreams of becoming the next Hollywood big thing on permanent hold. So instead she decided to name her baby girl after her idol Jennifer Aniston's most famous role: Rachel Greene.

These days, Catarina is a bit of a mess. According to her, she's four years away from forty and the sole thought is sending to a complete frenzy thus the reason why she has decided to spend most of her 30's partying and experiencing the things she missed out.

Her relationship with Rachel is amazing - the two are basically best friends but as the years go by Catarina is becoming more and more codependent of her beloved daughter and hates that she is growing up and all serious and independent.

So imagine everyone's surprise when he decided to study film so he can be a filmmaker, just like his dad one day. Everyone thought that he would choose to lead a more mundane life, study something ordinary and have a boring job that he'll probably hate in twenty years.

Unfortunately, he's been forced to put his studies on hold - with his parents' upcoming (and disastrous) divorce and his little sister's non stop partying it feels like the best thing for him to do at the moment is stay at home and take care of the situation before it becomes worse.

He will meet Rachel through Serena. Unfortunately they won't be able to be together for many, many reasons.

Is super passionate about nail art and loves watching those cute videos on YouTube with her mom - it's their bonding time.
Has never been in a relationship. Lost her virginity in her junior year in high school during a party and hasn't shown interest in it since then.
Has a weak spot for old people and animals. All those puppy and kitten videos make her cry like a baby.
At one point in her life - before deciding that she's going to be a mega math nerd, Rachel wanted to become a pro-skater or rock star or start her nail art YouTube channel.
In eighth grade she and Johnathan wanted to become YouTubers and filmed a bunch of videos but then learned that editing is actually not as easy as they thought so they gave up on the idea.
