Mira - My Life as a Multiple #22

Mira is the other half of Nico. She appears a little younger than Nico though. Mira is with Jesse's alter, Jake. Jake often has trouble making Mira happy although he tries very hard. Jesse has had to work with Jake to help him be nicer and kinder to Mira and lots more understanding of her many moods. I have had to work with Mira to be less needy. It is one of our most problematic pairings. The younger children always are because they are too young to understand love and it's intricacies.

Mira plays the piano. She is the only alter that does although she can help Mel to play sometimes. I used to be fond of the guitar. Mira reads music beautifully. Mira holds some of our emotions and they come out when she plays piano. Mira took piano lessons and was amazing. She did not like recitals and often melted down when she had to perform in front of others. Since Mira rarely comes out today, we don't play as much.

Mira is one of the soothing alters. She is able to calm us down. Some of Mel's older alters help her sometimes. Mira used to love to soothe us and calm us by playing her beautiful piano pieces.

As I write these blog entries, my alters speak to me. They tell me what their jobs are and remind me of experiences we have had and they say "That was me!" I am usually busy living life and I don't always know who is helping me unless they tell me. Some of the alters who help me every day, I am more familiar with and I know it's them. Some, like Mira, are quieter and more gentle and just prefer to stay in the back.

Jesse encourages me to play piano and maybe I should let Mira do that more. Maybe it would make her happier and less sad. Mira often depicts herself in pictures as lost in the woods and as crying.

I have said Mira can often lose her sanity and be completely crazy and perhaps this is her frustration at not being allowed to express her musical talent. I see getting the piano tuned is moving up on my list of priorities. It helps me so much to work through these things and to focus on each individual alter. I think I miss their needs and the things they are trying to tell me.

Thank you for reading, sweet reader, and for all your support. It means so much to me. So many of you read quietly and your "hearts" on my blog help me know you are there. I do love comments but I know not everyone feels they have something to say. It's okay. I'm just glad you are reading!
I hope you have a lovely Friday!

    Hugs, Nikki xx

  • I think it's a good idea to let Mira express herself more through music. The younger they are, the more they need an outlet which they can control and which isn't hazardous. Not to mention that music is good for everyone (in my opinion).
One of the reasons that young people want to grow up so quickly is that they want to be in control of their lives, rather than have someone else be in control....

@gypsy-jo Wow Jo, that is so insightful!!! Thank you so much for your comment. I'm gonna let Mira play the piano more and express herself. No to mention, everyone loves to hear me play. It's a win-win. Thank you, sweet friend, so much!!!!

As difficult as Jake and Mira can be, I wouldn't change them for anything. If anything, we just need to get to know them better, as I think your blog is helping us do. Love you xoxo

Oh, I hope you let her play the piano more, music works on the brain in many ways, there is music therapy, for those who are ill, it has also been proven, children who play an musical instrument do better on math problems. I think music is an universal language, good for the soul. Mira is precious. Have a wonderful weekend sweetie!

@sjlew You are right and we are looking into a piano tuner today. We need a couple of minor repairs as well. Then Mira should be up and playing the piano. Hugging you for your sweet comment!

I also think it's a good idea to let Mira play the piano more and express herself. Young ones need to express themselves and have a very hard time doing that and if they find a way to express themselves they should be allowed to do it. It could help both of you! Hugs, Rhana xo

Mira is so cute. And I agree with @Gypsy-Jo, it's good that she express herself through music. And I understand Mira, I can't even speak in front of people, not to mention about some kind of performances. Thank you for publishing this post. Hope you have a fantastic time! Hugs, Asya 🙂♥

@asia-12 Thank you so much Asya! Yes, Mira is a shy one. I think that's where our social anxiety comes from. Thank you so much for your comment!!! It means so much to us!
