Large plant interior styling

  • There is a popular trend in interior design. Using large plants to decorate the space. Not in the bohemian way but more chic. Read on to take plant decor to the next level in your home:

    1-neutral wall-

Let the greenery do the talking by placing the plant against neutral walls. It works for minimal styles if the plant pot is a solid colour. Even more minimal is to pair the curtains together with the shade of the pot.

    2-statement entranceways-

Create a glam setting for people to enter by using tall vases. Place 2 vases either side of a doorway. It fills the space with drama. The plant itself can be green leaves or coloured flora. For a hotel classy look make sure both are matching.

    3-cluster of hanging planters-

Yes these might not be large but with a few all together it can be a large statement. It brings nature indoors and keeps floor clear. This style is an oasis of calm.

    4-basket planters-

For a more earthy take opt for putting your plants in baskets or wicket containers. This style has a mediterranean feel.

    5-cluster of different heights-

Varying the height of each plant in one area is great It gives an outdoor feel in a zone of your room. Makes the area more interesting as you are moving your eyeline and not creating a straight horizon of foliage.

    6-same plant pots-

Pull the room together by using same pot for each plant. Create a collection of plants. Get a feel for the look you wish to go for. Mix different greens and textures. Individually the plants might not look like they;d go together. However, with same pot (least colour) they'd merge and feel made for each other.

    7-fill corner-

Fantastic way to use empty space is by adding plants. Plants with volume or ones that grow upwards are best. Place the plant near natural light like windows. Helps your plant thrive.

Giant cactus are a new trend. Tiny ones called succulents are not as in as they used to be. Now we have the large type. They create a tropical oasis. Mix the colurs of the room with neutrals, jewel tones and mediterranean. The shapes of cactus are very restful and zen like.

    9-match art to the pant-

You could theme your room around the type of plants you want. Use same plant type in the artwork. It doesn't have to match 100% just be similar. A theme brings all your room together so it's not many zones or cluttered.

    10-pop of colour-

Add colour in sections with the plant choice. This plant in pic will add pop of yellow into the room. Bit of vibrancy lifts the mood. Or you could do same effect with colour of the plant pot.

    11-match to furniture-

A funky fresh modern thing you could try is the matchy approach. Match the shade of your pot to furniture pieces in the room. Really bold statement. Like this planter and chair in the pic both being bright yellow.
