Because once you see her, sheโ€™s gone in a blink of an eye โ€” was it an hallucination maybe?

If you were to talk to her, youโ€™d notice she didnโ€™t get any sort of education, and she may also come off as weird, mixing simple words to very complex ones she learned in books. Parnum is known to be a village of simple workers, so people donโ€™t expect much from a blacksmithโ€™s daughter.
    But thatโ€™s where theyโ€™re wrong.
When they think she wouldnโ€™t understand, she does. When they think she isnโ€™t listening, when they think she isnโ€™t watching โ€” she does.
And she doesnโ€™t let them understand. She would just stand there awkwardly, with a small smile on her face and saying something โ€˜stupidโ€™ in a high pitched voice. Thatโ€™s all part of the act.

Yes, itโ€™s true, she is quite ignorant about some things. But she is also very aware of that and of the fact that people would constantly underestimate her. She wants to prove a point. She wants to prove that sheโ€™s more than just a blacksmithโ€™s daughter.

When sheโ€™s not playing the part, she speaks with a quite normal voice โ€” not too high pitched not too low, sheโ€™s not one of many words and sometimes she likes talking in โ€˜riddlesโ€™, even if many times sheโ€™s the only person who can understand them and that could label her as kind of weird.

You really canโ€™t hear her, her best friend swears she doesnโ€™t walk, she floats.

    [Provided]

As a simple blacksmith's daughter, Briannith has always dreamed of Lords and Ladies. Even more so, she dreams of knights in shining armor, that she had no part in making. She tries to spend all of her free time around the castle in hopes of catching the eyes of some honorable man in the capitol. Her father always laughs, strikes his hammer on hot steel, and tells her to stop living in the clouds and pick a suitable match already so he needn't be bothered with her. Not that that would be hard for Briannith; she is far from ugly and could easily marry a blacksmith with much more future than her father. But that wouldn't be good enough. She and her best friend vowed that they would run away to Steden and find a noble knight to wed and bed. She has just arrived with little more than the clothes on her back. Little does she know that status does not make a man truly honorable. Barely able to afford living, she thought she might have to sacrifice everything and join a brothel. But right before she entered one, a handsome man came up to her. He introduced himself as a member of House Pheme. With her innocence, she was worth so much more than her body. If she promised to help him, he could give her the key to everything she ever wanted. Now she is training to be a spy in court and mingle with the country's best and brightest, whether she realizes it or not.

๐‘จ๐’ƒ๐’๐’–๐’•: 'The Goddess of Parnum' โ€” this is how the villagers refer to Madelyn. It's mainly because of her features and her demeanor, considered too noble for a woman of Parnum. But after all, Madelyn was just a sixteen year-old girl when she literally appeared in Parnum wearing a ball gown (probably stolen) and claiming she was supposed to become a princess through marriage.
Parnum villagers called her delusional and she found comfort in House Pheme.
The โ€˜princess nonsenseโ€™ eventually stopped and she married Maddock Rokos, not exactly out of love, it was rather the fact that they were bot reaching a certain age and still werenโ€™t married.
She doesnโ€™t mind him though, she actually grew to like him at least a little bit โ€” they even had a daughter.
When Briannith was born, a baby with the features too similar to her own, Madelyn decided to educate her to the world of princesses and knights.
Yes, Briannithโ€™s dream of marrying a noble knight comes from her mother and all the books she made her read, the stories she told her before going to bed.
โ€œMom, how do you know so many things about castles and princesses and knights? Those stories werenโ€™t in your books!โ€ asked Briannith when she was still a child.
โ€œBecause, my child, there are some stories that are not written in booksโ€
Or because not everything is what it seems.

๐‘จ๐’ƒ๐’๐’–๐’•: Son of a blacksmith, it was in his destiny. After all thereโ€™s not much you can do in Parnum.
When heโ€™d been told he was going to marry Madelyn he was torn. Yes, she was a beautiful woman, but she was also the crazy girl who came to Parnum talking nonsense about being a princess. She came to her senses though and earned the name of โ€˜Goddess of Parnumโ€™, so what did he have to lose? He was (and still is) a poor blacksmith, having a woman that beautiful by his side would be a good consolation.
This consolation also got him a daughter as beautiful as her mom, but that wasnโ€™t the only thing they had in common because when Briannith would talk about the Lord and Ladies it reminded him of when Madelyn first arrived in Parnum.
He knew it was his wifeโ€™s doing, but he thought it was just some fantasies, a way to let his child dream of a better life.
So when Briannith would tell him about marrying a knight he would just laugh and tell her to stop living in the clouds.

    ๐‘จ๐’ƒ๐’๐’–๐’•: The redhead of Parnum.
She is Briannithโ€™s opposite โ€” always cheerful and smiley and whenever they go around together, people in Parnum always try to hide the little smile that forms on their faces.
Lix was five when she was hiding from one of the usual, horrible pranks of her older sister and her hiding place happened to be Briannithโ€™s roof โ€” Bri's favourite spot. They became friends right away and when Briannith started telling her the stories she read her motherโ€™s books, Elixyvette was so excited that she and Briannith vowed that they would run away to Steden and find a noble knight "to wed and bed".
But when the day of โ€˜The Great Escapeโ€™ came, Lixโ€™s sister ruined the best friendsโ€™ plans: Lix let something slip and her sister knew that something was up; she convinced their father there was something going on, and when Lix tried to escape she wasnโ€™t even able to set foot on the street.
The Anthis' family searched for Briannith as well because they knew Lix was doing that with her, but she hid and managed to run away to Steden.
Lix and Bri are still in touch, they write each others letters. She canโ€™t believe her best friend is in the capital and she doesnโ€™t know what sheโ€™s doing and, especially, that sheโ€™s in court (Finnegan asked Briannith to be secretive about it and not telling a soul. Not even her best friend).
All she knows is that she found a good job in Steden and canโ€™t wait to be reunited with Bri (and that she could possibly introduce her to some noble knight).

๐‘จ๐’ƒ๐’๐’–๐’•: Finnegan is a mystery โ€” an extremely handsome one. Heโ€™s a member of House Pheme and claims to be the one who can give Briannith everything she ever dreamed of. Briannith was skeptical at first, but when she found herself in court she started to trust him more.
Finnegan roams around the court, always hidden, keeping an eye on โ€˜his girlโ€™ Briannith. Heโ€™s extremely stealthy and always makes sure nobody is aware of his presence โ€” that is nobody but Briannith. Heโ€™s not one to slip up.
This is a way both for gaining her trust, seeing a โ€˜familiarโ€™ face in court can do her some good, but also to test her. He wants to see if she really is as good as he thought. He has big plans in mind for Briannith, she can really be the one, the right person to help him.
He would meet Briannith in a hidden passage of the palace to make sure sheโ€™s still on board and to make sure sheโ€™s doing a good job at training even if he already knows about her progresses.
They say walls have ears, but they also have beautiful green eyes.
