  • Hello, sometimes wearing stripes seems really challenging. Here's some ways to combat this.

Vertical stripes on legs elongate. They can make you appear taller. Perfect for shorter figures. Tuck in or wear with crop tees. For a polished look tr a top that is same tone as the stripe.

For a casual look try a horizontal t-shirt. Perfect for layering under jackets, dungarees etc... Horizontal stripes actually help give an illusion the area where stripe is placed is smaller. This is great for broader figures. Pair with other plain pieces for a basic or bold style.

If you are wanting to make your body appear longer a vertical dress is perfect. Or if you wish to seem more elegant and taller this style works great for you. You can dress is smart with heels or casual with sandals. This look is shown that you can pattern mix stripes. Here florals are added.

This look take the stripes in the dress and adds them also in the hat. Think about spreading your stripes throughout your outfit. Could be with your shoes, hat or bag. Break up the print with a few solid pieces like this look has with the bag. Otherwise it could be too overwhelming.

    5-monochrome stripe-

Another way to wear stripe is monochrome. Meaning the whole look is one or 2 colours. Often black and white. Matching all elements or most is really flattering. You can achieve really glamorous looks doing this. Here this outfit has a bold red hat and lips. Everything else is cream and black.

Adding a sporty stripe down the leg is another technique. It can slim your legs stopping them looking widder. It's a great street look. Mix up your day to day styles with a side stripe. These can be in classic white or any colour. Match the stripe to your sneakers or top or even clash. Be bold with an unexpected flash of colour down your leg. Today they can be found on skirts, jeans, leggings and more.

Thanks again DS, I have a pet peeve about horizontal stripes on large women, I think they look really bad if they are not under a jacket. I have really broad shoulders and am big busted I look larger in them so they are never worn.
    More vertical stripes please!!!
