Muli has been a Floor Master at the Jade Arena for three years, now, and she shows no signs of giving up her position. Unbeknownst to most people, she is also a member of the Deck ("The Fool"), and her suit tattoo is hidden in plain sight-two small pink hearts (), on her right cheek.

Muli is almost scarily perceptive, and quite manipulative. She's also a ๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ๐บ good liar, when she wants to be. Even before her abilities had fully manifested, Muli was nimble, agile, and lithely strong. Her time as an acrobat left her light on her feet and capable of throwing even the most improbable of back-flips, and she 100% had the patience and endurance to maintain this level of skill and flexibility. In addition, Muli's unpredictability isn't necessarily a strength in every situation, but it's definitely helped her in the past. In the Jade Arena, her opponents are never quite sure what to expect from her. Her abilities are extremely adaptable, and even if the enemy knows exactly what she can and cannot do, Muli is still able to find a way to win through new and creative uses of her "Double Bubble".๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Muli is fickle and dishonest; you would have to be a fool to trust her. As such, she has no real "allies". Not even the Deck fully depends on her to do what's needed, as everything she does is in the pursuit of her own self-interest. Sheโs quite remorseless when it comes to killing/harming others. In addition, Muli believes that she's one of the strongest, if not ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ strongest, Powered individuals around, which gives her a reckless confidence akin to arrogance. She's not entirely incorrect in that assumption...for the most part.Muli isnโt always cognizant of how dire things may be for her, which leads her to do some pretty extreme things-such as letting an opponent cut off both her arms, just to manipulate them into a trap (the arms were later re-attached, but it was still a pretty stupid idea). Also, Muli is never one to back down from a fight, if somebody gets under her skin enough. Perhaps her greatest weakness is the fact that she's so damn vain; it could be the Devil himself breaking her perfectly manicured nails or messing up her carefully cultivated curls (or even just insulting her wardrobe, to be honest), and Muli would still unleash all her anger in the direction of the offender.
Finally, the only things she seems to find any joy in are 1) shopping, and 2) fighting strong opponents. Itโll get her killed, some day.

Muliโs entire body was affected by a mutation that made her able to visualize and control her own "life energy" in certain ways. Using this ability, Muli has perfected the art of manipulating her "life energy" into a bright-pink bubblegum-like substance ("Double Bubble") that comes out of her hands and feet. She is able to manipulate it at will, causing it to expand and contract on command. Muli is the only person who can remove her Double Bubble, once it's been attached to something. In addition, Muliโs entire body was affected by a mutation that made her more elastic/flexible than any human has right to be. Finally, she has superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, and agility, which is quite common for those affected by mutations.

โโIf one were to sum up Muli's personality in the most succinct way possible, the first words that come to mind are "petty back-stabbing bitch". Indeed, Muli is almost ruthlessly amoral, doing only what she believes will benefit her and whoever/whatever she cares about at the moment. She is also exceedingly petty, but doesn't like exerting the effort if it isn't worth it in the end. Fickle and whimsical, deceitful and dishonest, but also sly, clever and calculating, Muli lies about anything and everything. And she will shamelessly admit to being caught in a lie, too, if she feels like it.
โโAlthough she holds no qualms about killing or stealing, she doesn't go around murdering everyone she sees; it's too much work. She is not truly evil, just rather amoral, and very, very selfish. Muli is usually quite flighty and gets distracted easily (again-she's extremely fickle), but once she wants something badly enough, she can be very, very dangerous.
โโMuli appears as innocent and naive and somewhat prissy (and she comes off as flippant, sassy, irreverent, and scathingly sarcastic, if a bit too preoccupied on her hair or nails or whatever), which is aided by her choices of clothing and make-up. However, behind her girly giggles and full, pouty lips and Barbie-doll eyes, Muli is calculating her every move with the cool, lazy confidence of a tiger or a shark. She is cold and cunning, even if her outward mannerisms/appearance don't exactly lead to this...assumption (the girl wears sparkly pink lipstick and frilly pink dresses all day every day, for one).
โโThe easiest way to anger Muli is to ruin her clothes or shoes or mess up her hair or make-up. She has never held back when exacting revenge against people who just can't seem to appreciate how much effort goes into being ๐ง๐ข๐ด๐ฉ๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฃ๐ญ๐ฆ.

โโMuli refuses to dwell on the past, and reveals very little of it to others. In fact, she's not altogether certain that she has everything down correctly. But here's what she knows:
โโHer parents have been erased from her mind. Muli refuses to think about them (or her childhood in general, really), and with time, she has forgotten their faces. Who can blame her? It's not like they were a presence in her life past the age of two or three, anyway. Muli doesn't know what happened to them, and she doesn't care. Maybe there are records of them somewhere. Maybe not. Muli can't be bothered to check.
โโIn any case, Muli doesn't know her true name, or her birthday (she guesses that she was born in 2066, which makes her twenty-eight years old, now). She thinks she's from northern China. The only thing she remembers clearly is someone-a woman, though Muli has forgotten her face-telling her the story of the nine-tailed foxes, the tricksters of ancient Chinese folklore.
โโWhen Muli was around five or six, she somehow found herself in Beijing, where she made a living on the streets, foraging for food to survive and stealing when she couldn't find anything in the dumpsters. She got into plenty of scuffles with other street urchins, who would team up with each other, but Muli preferred to work alone. Her mutations began to show themselves around this time, elongating her torso, stretching out her limbs, pinching in her waist, widening her eyes. She was seven years old and as tall as the average grown women-a very strange feeling indeed.
โโOne night, Muli was caught stealing from the traveling circus that had come into the city. When she tried to escape, panic made her somehow bend her wrist back 360 degrees in a desperate attempt to loosen the hold on her wrist. Everyone stared.
โโ"What's your name?" the ringleader asked. Muli didn't know what to say; she didn't have one.
โโ"Muli," she'd replied, because ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ญ๐ช and ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ญ๐ช. Muli, for the nine-tailed foxes, the huli jing.
โโThe ringleader of the circus decided to take her in as a contortionist. Muli discovered that parts of her body were incomprehensibly flexible, and under the harsh tutelage of one of the older women (she was a rhythmic gymnastics coach in another life, the rumors whispered), she further refined this flexibility and added in the lithe strength of a ballerina. It was strange-at the time, her mutation had only affected certain parts of her body, like her wrists and fingers and elbows and shoulders, so her wrists could bend around themselves in circles, but she had to work at her splits and over-splits like everybody else.
โโMuli began performing at the age of nine. By twelve, she was five-eleven and an acrobat. Despite the cheers from the crowd, it wasn't what Muli wanted. It was...boring. Besides, the ringleader was annoying. He wouldn't let her beat up other people when they got on her nerves. Muli didn't like it. She wanted out.
โโIt was around this time that her abilities completely manifested themselves. But it was not an easy change; her muscles and tendons and ligaments stretched and became elastic and malleable. It was painful. Very painful. At first, using her abilities felt like being suspended in the most extreme over-split, with ten pounds of rocks pressing her hips down towards the ground. But gradually, over time, the pain disappeared. That was the neat thing about flexibility, as Muli had learned. What is painful at first eventually becomes effortless.
โโ"Double Bubble"-AKA the gum-like substance Muli is able to manipulate into existence using her own "life energy"-however, came easily. She named it after the bubblegum brand, because why not? She figured out her abilities with the assistance of one of the older acrobats, who had taught her everything she knew. The other acrobat was also a Powered individual, though he had the ability to manipulate air. Muli has tried to forget him. She knows that she hasn't. Not quite yet. It's...vexing.
โโOne night, Muli decided to leave the circus. The ringleader tried to stop her. When he did, Muli jumped onto him, twisted herself into a convoluted pretzel-like formation around his torso, and slit his throat. She walked out of the tent and into the muggy summer air without another word. On the way out, she saw her friend, the acrobat who could bend air. She didn't say anything.
โโThis is where things get a bit....hazy. All Muli remembers is fighting and stealing and killing and laughing, laughing at the sheer maniacal joy of it all.
โโSomewhere along the way, Muli found a Barbie doll, a reminder of a past world that wasn't quite so dangerous. The doll was wearing a frilly pink dress and had pink bows tied in her hair. Muli decided to become her.
โโFast forward a couple years. Muli is twenty-four, or twenty-five. She's in Yue City, and has been since her late teens. She's made a name for herself. One day, on a whim, she decides to become an Arena fighter. She registers as 'Barbie'. Later, commentators and fans would come to nickname her 'Bubblegum Barbie', because what is Muli without her signature Double Bubble?
โโMuli becomes a Floor Master, easily. Almost too easily. She's starting to get bored, when Mei-ying ("Demoness", an opponent she fought to a stalemate in the Jade Arena, a little after she became a Floor Master. Muli thought she was quite impressive...but not as powerful as her, of course) offers her a spot in "the Deck", an infamous gang of thieves. Turns out that "Demoness" was the leader of the Deck. Muli accepts.
โโAnd there, Muli has stayed. She intends to betray the Deck, one day, when she gets bored of them. But for now it's interesting enough. And Mei-ying, whose codename is "the Empress", is quite a fascinating leader. Muli would love to have a rematch before she leaves.

Muli's had so. Much. Plastic. Surgery. She's quite shameless about this, too; what's life if you can't at least look good while you're living it, huh? Plus, the mutations that triggered her abilities kind of messed up her face and proportions (at one point, she was six-seven in flats and her nose was just ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต a pleasant sight to see); there have been periods in her life where Muli was very obviously deformed/disfigured, almost to the point of being grotesquely so. Being as vain as she is, of course Muli got that stuff fixed. It's had no discernible impact on her abilities, thus far, but who knows? One of the Deck members, a healer, has warned Muli that continued use of her powers will probably significantly shorten her lifespan, due to some long boring scientific explanation that Muli didn't care enough about to fully pay attention to. That's fine by Muli, though. She intends to have a bit of fun before she goes.

Muli herself wouldn't have much to say, since her head is always in the present, and she hates looking back at the past. But Arena-goers remember her best for her ninth victory on the 200th floor, where an old rival showed up with the ability to conjure up a double. Said rival cut off both her arms during the fight (they were later reattached, thanks to a member of the Deck who had healing abilities); Muli was able to trick the rival into believing that she magically reattached her arm (she was using Double Bubble, actually) and verbally manipulate them straight into her trap.Muli is also known for her knack of just completely ditching matches. She was at 10 wins and 3 losses on the 200th floor, and all 3 of those losses came about because she just didn't show up, effectively forfeiting the match. If asked about it, Muli merely shrugs and says, "I didn't feel like it. I was doing something else, maybe. Probably shopping."

Haaaa, good question. Not even Muli knows the answer to this-she only knows that wants to have fun, and that she likes fighting strong opponents...and watching them crumple to their knees when they realize that they canโt defeat her. Edgy, I know. For what itโs worth, Muli also wants to try to make a special brand of nail polish thatโs composed mostly of Double Bubble. Itโs.....not going so well.
