    ⚔ Biograophy

Kabir is the youngest Shehzade of the Sultanate of Wahah. Unlike most of the royal families of the world, the Al Thani legacy does not stretch back centuries- if you try hard enough, you could maybe make the case for it to stretch back one century at the very least. But because of that, the Al Thanis made it a point to provide their children with the best education money could buy, and encouraged their children to work (some insurance was required), well the men anyway. And this is where Kabir lucked out. With two older brothers, his father, Sultan Suleyman Al Thani, was far more concerned with their actions and activities. Both his oldest sons were pushed into high-productivity, and high-wage earning industries like investment banking and real estate, whether they liked it or not. And for Kabir... well, let's just say being his mother's favourite son had its advantages. From an early age, Kabir had been his mother's pet. She always seemed to dot on him far more than her older sons, often explaining that she did this because he was her youngest child as well. Being her favourite, Sultana Zakhiyah often fought with her husband on behalf of Kabir, allowing him to do what he liked for the most part- sailing, flying, anything.

And naturally, it helped that the Al Thanis had money. And lots of it.

Because of this, Kabir pretty much did and got exactly what he wanted in life. And when it came to finally choosing a career path, he quickly found that material possessions could never fully satisfy him. All his life, Kabir had been pacified by various material possessions, but as Kabir grew older, he found that he wanted more our of life. What Kabir really wanted to do was travel the world for a living as a food writer. First of all, the very notion of him cooking was considered to be absolutely ludicrous, even by his mother. Let alone food writing and travel. That meant that it was pretty much not an option for him to pursue at all. And he was right. At the age of 20, Kabir began to receive pressure from his parents to pick a profession and "grow up." In order to appease them, Kabir entered investment banking, following the footsteps of his older brother Shehzade Fakhir. But that would be short-lived. Stifled, Kabir abruptly quit his job at the Royal Wahah Bank after only two months and finally mustered up the courage to tell his parents that he wanted to cook. As expected,, neither the Sultan nor the Sultana were too pleased about this. And after days of loud and disastrous arguments, Kabir finally decided that he was going to do what he liked whether his parents supported him or not. They didn't, of course. Both the Sultan and Sultana agreed that until Kabir came to his senses, they were not going to support him financially. In the mean time, Kabir took up a job in a local restaurant, where he would work for almost a year, living in well... squalor. Unable to afford the exceedingly high property and living costs of Wahah, Kabir was forced to live in poor and cramped considerations, being forced to share his room, living in arguably the underdeveloped parts of the Wahahi cities. But even so, Kabir was far too proud to actually admit the details of his struggles to any of his siblings, knowing all too well that it would reach his parents ears anyway- he wanted to show them that he did not need their support to survive. He wanted to show them that cooking was not "meant for women." Anyone could cook for a living irrespective of their gender.

In the course of a year, Kabir was promoted and seemed to be advancing at the restaurant. At the same time, his sister, Sultana Arsala managed to convince his mother to reach out to Kabir. Hesitant, Kabir agreed to meet with her. Before he knew it, both of them would meet up at clandestine locations in the city, making sure that Kabir's father did not learn of this. This went on for months, until Kabir's father finally did find out- an article about Kabir's restaurant came in the newspaper because Sultana Zakhiyah and her daughter, Sultana Arsala had been spotted dining there. Kabir was photographed to be serving another table in the background. Furious that his son was a waiter, and the fact that both his wife and daughter had been in contact with him, explosive arguments broke out between Sultan Suleyman and his wife, Sultana Zakhiyah. The product of these arguments was oddly a begrudging reconciliation between Kabir and his father. Frustrated with the arguments between their parents, Kabir's brothers forced Kabir to return and talk to his father.

In the end, Kabir and his father did reconcile and Kabir was being supported by his parents again, allowing him to move out of his poor living conditions and back to the imperial palace. However, Kabir strongly suspected that the only reason as to why his father was open to reconciliation was because Kabir, his son had been photographed as a server. Embarrassed, he wanted to ensure that such things never happened again. And of course, the easiest way to do that was through money- support Kabir, and he won't live like a pauper. Kabir's suspicions were confirmed when his father began to push Kabir to join the Wahai aviation industry, its airlines specifically. Sultan Suleyman wanted Kabir to oversee the cuisine and the quality of food provided by Wahai airlines to their customers. Essentially, it was his father's way of slowly trying to mold Kabir into a corporate worker. However, Kabir did accept the job, relishing the opportunity to learn about various types of cuisines and travel the world while at it.
